I came into the shop around 6 PM on a Friday evening. I didn't have an appt, but was willing to try my luck. Well, it was awesome! Here is why it is 5 stars. First, it is clean. This is a MUST for me because they are sticking needles into my skin. The place must not look like it is maintained by homeless crackheads, and this place definitely is not. Second, Chris quickly came over to the counter to see what I wanted, was engaged while I was explaining what I was looking for, and even seemed enthusiastic about it. Lastly, the price was right. I was tattooed the other evening by Vienna and it was a far and away the best tattoo experience I have ever had (I've got eleven tattoos). She was friendly and very professional. Her facilities were spotlessly clean; everything came out of sealed plastic bags and she sterilized everything before and after. First let me state I am not a fan of tattoo's. Having said that I would like to say that after two years of begging I brought my daughter into Evolution for her first tattoo. We had made an appointment with someone else, but since he was still working on someone we were directed to Vienna. After she looked at what my daughter wanted (a dream catcher with a quote), she went in back, drew it up and came out with a beautiful, albeit, big, dream catcher for her back. I got my tattoo last October. I waited, but decided to write this because of the high rating of this place for whatever reason. My friends artist was alright. Seemed genuinely happy to work with her and let her watch him sketch out what she wanted. (He did misspell her last tattoo so maybe that's why?) Carlos, truly sucked. There are no other words to describe him. Seriously. Very rude and over priced. Repeatedly asked me what my budget was before letting me tell him what I wanted. Pushed me to put it where I didn't want it. Ended up doing what he wanted and totally regret it. (My fault but still.) It was over shaded and He did the colors I wanted but in the wrong spots. The tattoo was okay, I thought I would end up liking it eventually like my other 5 tattoos that were walk-ins (Tony from Flat Black is amazing!) Not only did that not happen, it healed wrong leaving holes on the outline and is crooked. Only making me hate it more. Hopefully I can get it fixed. It's safe to say I won't be coming back. Doug is AMAZING!!!! He was very professional. He took his time with us and didn't treat us like an inconvenience. Well it's been just over 3 weeks since I got my tattoo with Danny. I was a walk-in, and waited for only about 15 minutes. And when I was greeted by Danny, and I knew right away I had picked the right place to get my tattoo done. Danny had me text him the picture of what I wanted, he took it to the back and drew it up- he even put his own twist on it. I was super nervous going into getting a tattoo, but Danny made me feel so comfortable! He talked to both my friend and I, about anything and everything to help keep me distracted, and made it all so comfortable and worry free. After he was done, I stood up and looked at the finished product and cried. I am absolutely in love with how my tattoo turned out and fall more in love with it every time I see it! I've been in 2 times in the last few years. Got my very first tattoo at the age of 18(so typical). I've been recommended to come here from my brother, who his tattoo artist is Jon, I believe. I walked in to get an estimate on how much it was going to cost me and what size they recommended I get for my first tattoo. I was helped by the wonderful Vienna. She recommended that I go with the smaller pisces tattoo on my left shoulder blade for being my first tattoo. Made the appointment and came in a few weeks later to get started. My appointment was at 1130 and she got started right away trying it out and making sure I was going to like it. She came out with the final drawing and I absolutely loved it. At the time I just found out one of my good friends and sister had passed away the day before from a house fire. So I was completely emotional and she listened away and totally made me feel comfortable. My first tattoo came out amazing and it was a reasonable price, granted it was my mom paying for it for my birthday. A year later, I came back and recommended Vienna to start on my 2nd tattoo for my 19th birthday. I told her that I was obsessed with dream catchers and I wanted to incorporate my brother and sisters names and have my nieces' name in it as well. I found a few images on google but she had a better idea and she drew it up the day of my appointment(the day after my b-day). Her idea was amazing and better then what I had in mind. She thought that she could incorporate the initials in the feathers. It turned out amazing :) I had to come back a few weeks later after it was all healed to get the coloring in it. I would recommend going to this tattoo shop because you get great customer service every time and all the artists make you feel at home. Plus they always have great music playing and it is in a well kept, clean area. I hope to come back for my 21st birthday, which is in a few months, to get another tattoo. Me and 2 friends came here around July to get tattoos. We got them done by Carlos. The whole time he was extremely rude to us. 1 person got their whole tattoo finished while the other 2 only got the outlines done because we live 4 hours away and had to start heading home for work. He had us pay for the whole thing even though 2 of them were unfinished so we paid it. The end of January we called him and told him we wanted to come get them finished on a Sunday he said okay come on in its walk ins so you don't need an appointment. We drive all the way there, get there at 11 and he isn't there. At 1 when he comes in we go to talk to him and he acted like he didn't know anything about our tattoos. He then told us he didn't think we would actually show up so he made another appointment with someone else and that he would call us when he was finished. Since it was already 1 and it's a 4 hour drive we had to start heading home since we worked the next day. At around 4(halfway home from traffic) we get a call saying to come in 15 minutes to get them finished... so we say no we can't and made an appointment for feb 19 at 12 to get our tattoos finished. We get there at 12, no sign of Carlos. Around 1230 he shows up and sits in his car to finish smoking or whatever he was doing. Around 1245 he goes inside and we go in as well. While talking to him he acted once again like he didn't know about our tattoos and kept checking his watch like he had better things to do. We showed him the picture of the 1 finished tattoo and he said we'll they're not going to look the same... all though he did all 3 tattoos we understood no tattoo can be the same. He started on the first tattoo, was finished within 30 minutes. Same as with the second. He was extremely rude the entire time and didn't make us feel comfortable at all like most tattoo artists do while tattooing. Our tattoos were so rushed, and although the outcome does look good we won't ever come back and get a tattoo from Carlos. Customer service is key, and he did not have any. read more

I don't live in reno and I've always been skeptical about getting a tattoo away from home. But after I talked to who I think was the owner "Dan" I felt very good about what kind of service I was going to get. I showed him an example of what I wanted (my sons name "Aidan" in script) he had it sketched out in 5minutes and it was exactly what I wanted. He was able to get me in immediatly and his attention to detail was excellent. Dan really performedabove and beyond any other tattoo artist I've been to. I had the best experience ever! I was researching Tattoo shops in Reno for a while. Honestly i didnt plan on getting one till the day that I went. The taxi driver dropped me off at Aces tattoo and they gave me a horrible experience so i walked to Evolution where I intended to go in the first place. Johnny really was awesome!
