I had my Medusa piercing done here recently by Jessica, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was calm, kind, and incredibly reassuring throughout the entire process. She explained everything step by step, checked in with me often, and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. Prison blues tattoo is one of the best establishments I have been to in Reno. In the space of two weeks I had two tattoos done. The first a small tribute to my pet done by Kayla, which is absolutely stupendous. The lines are clear and attention to detail was fabulous. The second tattoo was done by a visiting artist from Poland, Maciej. He is absolutely fabulous. He is precise, intense, definition of a perfectionist. He will be here for three months. So if you have a chance, definitely make an appointment with him. You will be amazed by his artistic skill. The vibe tattoo is laid-back, friendly and absolutely a fun place to spend your time. I would not recommend Prison Blues Tattoo Studios in Reno to anyone. My friend and I went in for an ear piercing and a belly button piercing, and the experience was awful. The ear piercing was done unevenly and does not match the other side. The belly button piercing was even worse!!! After two failed attempts, my friend was left bleeding heavily, with chunks of flesh coming out, and she's still in pain and bleeding a week later. Instead of taking responsibility, the piercer told my friend she was "too big" for the piercing and that it was her body's fault, not the piercer's. We had to leave and come back just to get basic medical supplies to stop the bleeding. When we voiced our concerns, the piercer pulled $20 out of her own purse, which felt like hush money rather than a real solution. This was an extremely unsafe and unprofessional experience. My husband and I went here for a few simple tattoos. I will say it took over 5 hours for a few simple tattoos which was quite long. Kayla did mine and was SO AMAZING. The tattoos are beautifully done, she was so nice and even offered a clean stressball to counteract pain. I would recommend her to anyone. The person (Leah) who did my husband's tattoos though, was rude, and generally just too abrasive. She was yanking my husband's arm around so aggressively and talking in a tone that was SO rude for absolutely no reason, totally rubbed us the wrong way. Once there were no other workers, she started going much slower, got way more aggressive, and changed the music to some horrible jazzy reggae that made the whole vibe of the place awful. First tattoo artist I have ever even considered not tipping (still did even though she overcharged the shit out of my husband). The only reason this is four stars is because of Kayla, she's AMAZING and well worth it. read more

I went in on whim to get my nose re-pierced, and ended up getting both nostrils done, thier piercer Chris was awesome making easy work of re-piercing the one nostril and was able to make both symmetrical through my slight squirms. Beautiful shop! Super cool vibe with the guitars and mug shots and the place is absolutely spotless. Creas is the best. My niece and I walked in on Christmas Eve, unplanned and he greeted us right away with a big smile. My niece can be pretty shy and he made her feel comfortable right away. She told him what she wanted, and he drew it up perfectly on the first try. Recently, my dad and my sister passed away and I got a little tribute piece for my dad. Creas seemed like he genuinely cared and I could tell that the tattoo was important to him as well. I have been getting tattooed for a really long time and have some really incredible work, but the care and respect that Creas treats his guests with is something different. Keep that up! Getting tattooed is an incredibly personal experience and bonding with your artist is important. We had a blast and we had a lot of good laughs and got a couple of great tattoos. Thank you, sir! Chris and the guys pumped up my scared 11 year old as she got her ears pierced! My sweet girl was in Reno for a sports tournament and really wanted to pierce her ears at a tattoo parlor "for the story mom!" This kid has always been so scared of needles and pain. Tough as nails on the soccer pitch but up in her head about getting her ears pierced!! Chris was so patient and kind and walked her through every step!! Very disappointing experience at this shop, store was supposed to be closed at midnight and we went in at about 9:30 and neither of the store attendants wanted to assist even with simple black outline tattoos. One person in our group wanted to get a belly button piercing and our assigned piercer was apparently newer to piercing which is fine because everyone has to learn but she repeatedly tried to get the needle through the piercing by wiggling it around and attempting multiple times to repierce causing a huge tear in her stomach. We were staying up stairs in the grand sierra hotel and she covered two towels and our bead sheets and blankets with blood. I went downstairs to grab supplies and it took so long she needed to use towels to clean the blood I asked for the owners phone number to voice our complaint and they only gave me the store phone number on a business card. Overall disappointing and hectic experience, would not recommend. read more
