Buyer Beware! Unethical Business.. I ordered a case of ammo. when I came to pick up, the owner tried giving me less than half of my order and hoped I wouldn't notice. Then when I caught it, he forced a return on me by lying and saying he couldn't get that ammo anymore when in all reality, he accidentally sold it for too cheap, he figured out he wasn't going to make money anymore. He is a scummy person and his staff will make you feel dumb for asking questions about firearms. My friends and I all have stories about this place. read more

So, everything was going well with the young employee who was helping me out at the counter until a large heavy-set fellow by the name of Taylor oddly engaged himself into our conversation and started speaking for the other clerk. Taylor immediately started making excuses for a misunderstanding with what one of his employees said over the phone. While this came off sounding rude and directed towards me, I felt the need to remind him that I was the client. He sure didn't like that and became Argumentative and Hostile. The self-centered act of barbaric behavior that TAYLOR demonstrated is something that really needs to be addressed with professional behavioral help. Someone needs to remind this man to get off his high horse and remember he is in the customer services business before he is in the arms dealing business. Sad to have to lose business this way so I won't be going back. Additionally, there was another older man who was there and heard everything and didn't even help, he just let all the arguing happen. Evolution Sports is my go to local gun/paintball store. I'd definitely say its one of the better stores in the area. I came here last year when I sold my AR-15 to my friend and came back again with my wife to purchase a Mossberg 500 Field/Security Combo! Great place... high prices. I didn't like being charged for something I didn't get. Is it the industry standard to charge for a background check and not do it? I didn't have proof showing my name change from 28 years ago and my passport was expired by 3 months. Twice they did this. I realized when I got home that I purchased a gun I already had at home. I went in a few days later to exchange it...no background check was started as I didn't have a "RealID". Give people a list of what is needed before just charging them. I'm out $76. I guess I should be grateful that I wasn't charged a 25% restocking fee to put the guns back in the back room from the front desk. I won't be back. But the education was greatly appreciated. I would feel a lot better getting the money back for at least one background check; or at least start to run one. Nope! But what do I know? Thanks guys nice but that chased me off. A+ for this store oh I bought the cheapest light for my Glock . Did a test on the light (not installed) literally threw it tried breaking it pretty much durability test lmao. After a couple recommendations, I tried going in to see what there gun selection was. It was later in the evening, and I was the only customer. The three employees were gathered together over near the counter and didn't seem interested in my presence at all. Finally one of them begrudgingly decided to acknowledge my presence and ask what I needed. When I explained what I was looking for, all I got were smug comments about my request being stupid or the wrong choice. Not much guidance was offered, which was odd because I was looking to buy a couple guns right then and there. I was so frustrated with the interaction that I decided to go to ASK Defense instead. There I was welcomed and provided with everything I needed. I guess Evolution doesn't really want much business, since their customer service (or lack thereof) is such great advertisement for their competition. read more

I've been here several times over the last year for gear and FFL items, and found all the employees to be friendly, knowledgeable, funny and super helpful. As a small female I was looking for a CC holster that would work for me. They took the time, found the perfect piece and even allowed me to test before purchase. Buyers beware! They will sell you used items and refuse to exchange. They basically stole my 10 year olds sons birthday money and refused to make it right! He left evolution with a broken gun, took it back the very next morning and the dork at the counter played with it for 20 minutes and said ok you're gun is fixed now. Refused to exchange, and immediately when we got in the car it broke again. What do you know? Took it to another shop and not only the workers but customers were in awe of the condition of this supposed "new" gun. All said it had months worth of wear! We hadn't even fired off one clip before it broke! To make it worse, the two pieces of the gun dont even line up, making it inoperable. I think some of the yelp reviews are unfair. I purchased a handgun here and did not experience any of the rudeness that has been mentioned. In fact I emailed them ahead of my purchase and they were extremely quick at replying to my emails. My purchase was quick and easy. Only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars was because they did not have the firearm in stock and had to order it. But even that was relatively fast. Purchased on Thursday night and firearm arrived on Monday afternoon. If you're looking for a firearm give them a try. I would recommend emailing first to knock out all of your questions before arriving. read more

The gentleman @ the back counter was helpful to the point as to go ask for information on my specific questions. I noticed that their line up of optics was very impressive (I will be coming to Evolution Sports when I'm ready to purchase another optic for sure) They did not have the exact part I was asking for, but promptly ordered it for me on pre-pay basis. When I went there to make a purchase, everything worked out until after I left. That was when I realized that I left my driver's license behind. I had another obligation at the time so I called the guy that sold me the gun, and first I asked him if I left my license behind. Once he confirmed that I did leave it, I asked him if he could please place it somewhere safe for me since I needed to return in a few days to pick up my purchase. He stated, that he will put it with my gun so that everything will be together. When I showed up to pick up my purchase and license, the guy that made the sale was not there. someone else helped me by searching the lost-and-found area that he stated was designated for such items that are left behind. When he came back he stated that he did not find it anywhere. I understand that I made the mistake of leaving my license behind; however, given the fact that they sell dangerous tools with a high level of importance placed on corresponding documentation, I took trust in their words and I thought my license was safe. I was wrong. I will no longer spend at this location. read more

I've driven by this gun store/smithing location several times, but never stopped by until recently. Upon walking in the store, you'll see it's well laid out and spacious inside. I was greeted and assisted by Kenny, basically a walking encyclopedia of firearms. He took the time to patiently answer my question, as well as providing excellent advise. My only regret with Kenny is that he only works a couple times a month for the store. He mentioned he fills in for a employee that's enlisted in military reserves. Before handing me or anybody a firearm, Kenny triple checked the firearm was unloaded and didn't hover over you as you're looking at it. He also made sure to have the magazine close to his body at all times and the firearm was handled above the counter to ensure "no funny business." Kenny doesn't say what you want to hear or push you into buying a particular firearm, however if asked he does provide you his opinion. Being an owner of some of the guns he liked and disliked, I did experience the issues he had with the guns he disliked. The pricing is very competitive or better than other gun stores. But I'd say it's best to shop their for their expertise, versus price. All the staff members seemed to be very knowledgeable and eager to assist you. read more
