I've been working with cars for a long long time. There are few people and businesses that I get such a great vibe from. The reason I started doing my own work on my car is because it became difficult to trust shops to do it for you. This shop is the exception to that. Of every shop I dealt with in the past 20 years of building, maintaining, and customizing vehicles, I will put this shop at the very very top as far as quality, service, and dependability goes. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, even if it was an extended drive for them. I had Bob fix a botched alarm job for me from another installer's mistake because I couldn't fit the job around my work schedule at the time. He provided the best service I've had in the industry. Since my days as a bright-eyed high schooler, I have always been interested in subtle car modifications. Over fourteen years later, and I'm still intrigued by the car modification scene. For the past five years I have brought my car's to Bob for lighting customization. Unfortunately, the LED lighting kit that I had installed in my Nissan Maxima's fog light housing suddenly stopped working. Because I'm afraid of tampering with anything closely related to my vehicle's electrical system, I brought it in to have the issue diagnosed. In less than 20 minutes, Bob diagnosed the problem as a blown out bulb. Unfortunately, Bob no longer stocked this particular item, so he recommended that we replace it with an item of better quality. Bob explained in full detail what causes certain LED bulbs to blow out or lose their strength over time. I mention this because I'm always intrigued by people who not only have a passion, but are open to sharing the knowledge related to their passion. Not only did I learn the reason behind why the bulb failed, but I also learned what to look for in a quality LED bulb (something they won't teach you at Pep Boys). Bob ended up replacing both LED bulbs, and only charged me for the parts (no labor fee). I highly recommend Evolution to anyone looking to make some minor modifications to their vehicle (I have also had window tinting and headlight restoration done here as well). You have to love a business that holds themselves accountable and stands behind the products that they sell. As a tip, I suggest opting for the product(s) that Bob recommends. We have always brought all of our cars here and they have always given us a fair and decent quote. The lady who does all the car tinting has always done a phenomenal job, no complaints. This is the best alarm, lighting, window tint, and accessory shop in sacramento! I have been a customer here for over 10 years! Bob and Joann own the shop and they are experts and what they do! From excellent window tint, HID conversion, LED lights, water color for the interior, and the best alarm system made by compustar. Evolution has won several awards from car shows and they have the proof with the trophies in the waiting room. Also, there are great pictures of cars they have worked on, especially from some of the old Sacramento kings such as Jason Williams, Hedo Turkoglou, and Lawrence Funderburk. The garage can only hold 2 cars because there are only 2 of them working. There is a nice waiting room and it has wifi and it always has good music playing! Bob is the most creative guy I know who can make nothing into something. His ideas are genius. He installed a pair of DRL's (daytime running light) on my ford expedition and at first he wasn't sure if they would fit right but he examined and somehow made it fit perfectly!!!! Another example is he installed a similar pair of DRL's on my lady's Toyota rav4 and one of the lights brackets broke due to a rock when she was driving on the highway. I called bob and he took the liberty of replacing it! He kindly took the bumper off, fixed the bracket and installed a new pair of DRL's on!! Joann takes care of the window tint and she does it so careful and clean!! She tinted my 02 accord 35 percent all around and it still looks like new today! Customers are very important to evolution! If you want to make an appointment you need to call in! If you have a simple question or need advice you can drop by and ask! With only 2 workers, they can get slammed often so make sure you know your availability.... And if you are having your vehicle worked on, prepare for it being there for a while because other cars may be worked on as well, plus they have to answer phones and help customers if they drop by! Okay. I found this business here on Yelp. My car at the time was a 2016 Fiat 500 Pop, it was brand new and needed an upgrade for the DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and Bob did an amazing job and he was efficient. Year later here we are, just got a new car and this time a 2018 Elantra GT so guess where I went, right back here in Bob's shop, Evolution. So the project consisted of HID Headlights, LED Backup Light and lastly LED License plate lights. Once again Bob pulled through with the project, he had it done and dialed in no time. Him and his wife are amazing people and they would share with you knowledge of cars and life experiences. This Mom and Pop place is the go to place for any kind of lighting needs. I was calling around for a shop to install a HID system I was planning to order online and happen to call Evolution and spoke with Bob (the shop owner). Over the phone, he told me about new LED bulbs that is just as good as HID system and supposedly more reliable as well. The phone conversation I had with him convinced me he knew what he was talking about. He wasn't just trying to sell me but explaining to me. I was able to bring my car on the same day and he installed the system in no time. While he was installing, he brought me to the shop in the back to show me the difference between my existing light and the new LED lights. As he mentioned, the LED light look lot better and brighter. I was so impressed, I told him to swap out my fog lights bulb with LEDs too. He was changing out the fog lights bulb when his assistant noted that one of the fog light was loose from the bumper (some body damage). Bob took extra time and effort to fix the loose fog light from bumper which had nothing to do with the LED bulb install. All at no charge !! After, the bulbs were installed we noticed that one of the bulb was kind of dimming. Bob knew what the problem was and was going to fix it but he did not have an extra LED bulb to fix the situation. He said no problem, he put in a temporary fix and told me he would install the new LED when his new shipment comes in few days. Even after he finished the work, he was educating me on the details of cheap and good HID systems. He seem to really know his stuff and enjoys the work. Really nice guy and down to earth. I was looking for a place to install my aftermarket HID Lights I purchased on Amazon. I called Evolution and scheduled an appointment. Upon arrival I was greeted immediately by a woman she was very sweet. I took her to my car to show her what I wanted installed, immediately she warned me about the products I was using, while she was demeaning she explained that the lighting quality was bad in there experience. She then introduced me to Bob the owner, he immediately began to education me on quality--not at any moment did he attempt to sell me anything--telling me the difference so I could achieve the best quality for my money. After being thoroughly educated--I am a bit of a lighting pro--I understand more than most, but still found myself enamored at the amount of things I wasn't privy to. I decided to purchase the kit he recommended based on several qualities, lighting focus point (lumens), lighting color, bulb quality, ceramic plating around the bulb which reduces burnouts, and the ballast which had dual function a/c currents which stop flickering, and the burn is brighter. Install took about two hours, he removed my old system, installed my new system and we added some badges to my Genesis, the finished product was simply breathtaking. I mean this was quality, I didn't a walk around and took a peak under the hood, the ballast were tucked away from exposure and in an area the reduced its exposure to elements. The install was clean, everything was put back to maintain that OEM look and quality! This place deserves its rating, I recommend going here even if you don't plan on buying here, but in the market for lights, Bob will educate you on the HID system and help you get the best build for your vehicle. I will definitely return for future lighting projects!!! Love this place! read more

I recently became obsessed with auto customization. It started with just the dark tint and rims then after seeing a "suggested item" to buy on my Amazon, it spiraled out of control and suddenly all the lighting inside and out was being replaced to LED's. Every. Single. Light. Even the visor mirror lights. The addiction to Amazon Prime is real! So when my most recent purchase of LED headlights started flickering on the daytimes and my low beams were not transmitting enough light at night, I was having buyers remorse. I for sure thought a 6500k conversion kit would give me that crisp white upgraded look from those yellow stock Halogen lights. Worry free headlights, flicker free, promised to be the best in all of LED's. At Least that's what LEDlightingliar* said in his Amazon review. *** username has been changed to what it should have been. After deciding these lights weren't going to cut it, I came across Evolution and stopped by to speak with the owner Bob. I let him know what I was trying to achieve with my lights and he went over all the options with me. To get the look I was going for, replacing the headlamps was the best bet. My car is still new and even though replacing these may not be a first option for others, I did not mind investing in something I really wanted to change. Thankfully I was able to find headlamps with all the lights and everything already installed in the headlamp itself. The only thing I needed from Bob was to install it. He did inform me that it would require taking the bumper off, and I'm glad he did because I would only want a pro doing this! Appointments are currently scheduled about a week out and the install took only 3 hours. The install was around $190. Bob kept me updated through the process and made sure to call me right away when he had a question on how the lights wanted to be set up. The lights came out exactly how I wanted! I was surprised when he told me that the place I ordered them from fitted like it was OEM with no alterations needed on his end, and some of the best quality he has seen. This was a relief when you are ordering any type of aftermarket items. He knows his products very well. I really liked that he did not mind me purchasing my lights from somewhere else and was totally fine installing it. That was really cool as some shops do not do this. His shop is setup with all different light boxes to show examples of HID to LED. He really does educate you in all the different lights. In addition to auto lighting he does car alarms, remote start, as well as tinting. That is all just to name a few. He does this really cool emblem lighting. The emblem is taken off, traced, and then that is put into a special machine to get the most precise and clean lighting around it. No shortcuts are taken here. For around $150 you can get your emblem done. A nice little touch to add for your car to stand out at night. Great experience and very well priced. Bob and his Wife do quality work here and was extremely happy to find someone local for auto customization. If you are looking for quality headlights to work properly, do yourself a favor and come here first before resorting to Amazon for headlights. Quality vs. Quantity here. I came down not knowing anything about tints and Bob gave me a ton of information about how tints work and the quality and what they use. Bob and I talked almost 2 hours just about tint! This master is very passionate about his work and very knowledgeable about this field. He recommended me to use SunTek Ceramic Tint which is the highest quality he offers, especially since my car is a Mercedes Benz, you wouldn't want low quality film on a car like that. I had both front windows and all 5 in my rears done. Bob also gave me a rundown on the percentages and specs of his top films. In the end, I got 5% tints for the rear and 50% for the front, and it looks incredible!! Makes me want to do my front windshield! The rear is so stylish and matches my exterior and interior. I love it. Bob also does a bunch of other stuff such as HID lights, security systems, and dash cams! I wish I had known that he worked on dash cams so I could've gave him more business! Eclipse was recommended to me by a former co-worker. The owner, Som, is professional, friendly and easy to work with. The work was completed in a timely manner and came in at the quoted price. I was having the tint removed from all my Passat's windows. There was no damage to my car or windows. The interior was left clean. My only criticism is that the glass was streaked so I had to use some windex and clean it up. I would go back. My rating is 4 stars! This is the best tinting place. They did an amazing job on my husbands car. They are very knowledgeable. And they use quality products that will last you. We have now had at least 4 if not 5 cars tinted by Evolution over the past 10 years. they have been WONDERFUL to work with - always doing a very detailed tint job and we've never had any issues with the tint (that being said we don't usually keep our cars longer than 3 years so...). The prices have increased over the years slightly but my understanding is the tint has gotten better in quality as well so it make sense. I've always called to make reservations for tint last minute (usually when I'm at the dealership) and they've always accomodated me - these guys are very out of the way for where I live but it's MORE than worth it! read more

So today I went in and meet Bob, (he's a very nice guy) real friendly and knowledgeable about what he does. Update***** had an issue about a year after with one of the ballast on the HID light. It was fixed immediately, great customer service..... On a separate note my mom bought a new Lincoln, had another shop do the tint, they did the worst job. They said due to the matrix dots on the rear window nothing could be done about the bubbles. I have worked with others on Tinting and my alarm. However I really liked my experience here. I worked with the owner. His name is Bob. He really made me feel cared for. He treated me like a friend and took the time to explain all the technical things about my equipment even though it was all really confusing. I noticed pictures on his wall that he does a lot of famous peoples cars as well. Was impressed. I spent $400 on my alarm and $175 for my tint. I am really happy with my alarm. Does everything I want it to and has some really cool features I never had before. All my family and friends say how much nicer my car looks with my new tint job. I am very happy with my experience here and recommend him out to everyone. There are a lot of fakes out there selling you garbage material. These guys are the real deal and have a lot of experience.
