I was excited to see they carried Everyday Explorers stickers and stamps. They also carry greeting cards, stickers, Travelers Notebook products, stamps, a few fountain pens, and inks, washi tape, Field Notes notebooks, and many other items. If you're a stationery fan and local to the area, I'd recommend giving this shop a visit.

Here's why you should visit: 1) Goods: Unlike other stores that have a paper section but expand into other home products, Duly Noted doesn't stray far from their mission. They sell journals, planners, greetings cards, stickers and more. They have a few goods outside of paper products like mugs and a few local food items, but the majority of the store focuses on paper products. A few standouts: Letterpress cards. The owner sources it from local and regional companies. Appointed journals. This D.C.-based, woman-owned company uses Duly Noted as a drop location for their custom journals and planners. 2) Price: Compared to other shops, the prices aren't bad. A quality, local greeting card is around $5. 3) Location: It's next to a large Compass Coffee and many other shops are nearby along Wisconsin Avenue and M Street NW. 4) Space: It's in an inviting space and the products are organized well. It's a full shop but doesn't feel cluttered or overwhelming. 5) Passion: The owner is passionate about paper goods, attentive and answers any questions you may have. 6) Safety: Masks are required and a small table greets you when you walk in with hand sanitizer and extra masks.

Street or parking structures nearby and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Such an added plus to historic Old Town Alexandria. The shop isn't that big and during the time of my visit it was super tight trying to get around the store. Unfortunately they were out of the mini Travelers notebook 20th anniversary edition. It's not a full stock of TN products so lower your expectations. Nonetheless, a quaint store I'll be checking out whenever I'm in the DMV region.

So I couldn't wait to visit Penny Post when I was in town on business recently. This little place is tiny-but-mighty, packed full of allll the planner-related things you could possibly need. From washi tape to notebooks, from fancy paperclips to customized post-its, they had everything I could possibly ever want (and more). The staff is really helpful, too. Perhaps noticing the blank stare/look of overwhelm on my face, a kind employee asked if she could help me find anything. Anything? I had found everything! Luckily, I was doing carry-on only this trip, so only left with a handful of pens and a roll (okay, two rolls) of lovely floral-printed washi tape. If you're into planning, journaling, fancy pens, fountain pens, stickers, or just need a creative greeting card, Penny Post is the place. A quick note about parking: it's sort of a nightmare! I drove around for 20 minutes before I found a spot. But it was worth the hunt.

Great selection of Vera Bradley, Scout, and Spartina bags, Maryland-themed items, housewares, and unique jewelry at lots of price points. Friendly staff are always available to give suggestions, and hands down the best thing ever - free gift wrap when you purchase full price items! (Sale items can also be wrapped for a nominal fee.) It's a store that contains all the cutest items that you don't need, but that you definitely want to take home. Whenever I get a gift that's wrapped by Artisans, I know there's something fun inside!

There is a children's section with both toys and clothes. They had some really cute toys. And, there was a section devoted to people who love pasta. They also had jewelry and clothing for women too. I was warmly greeted when I walked in the door. I really liked their selection of gifts. So, much so that I joined their mailing list. Prices are a bit higher, but you are paying for the unique items and the one of a kind gifts. Thanks Amy for sharing your thoughts on gifts and the selection. It was a pleasure meeting you. I will definitely be back to see you soon.
