To my surprise, when we walked in, there were no customers--just the cashier (the owner's wife). My friend and I started browsing the jewelry section and found a few cute pieces, but we noticed the cashier hovering nearby, which felt suspicious. It genuinely seemed like she was watching us to make sure we were "only looking," and it gave the impression she thought we might take something. It was extremely uncomfortable and made it hard to shop in peace. The whole experience changed how I feel about the store. I wouldn't shop there again, nor would I recommend it. The prices are also on the higher side.

The shop specializes in locally made Virginia products and organic and sustainable wares. I first picked up 2 jars of lically sourced jams for $5 each, peach and plum. I then noticed some dark chocolate with a chili kick. I got hooked on that sweet and spicy combo in Texas. The chocolate I chose was very very dark chocolate and not much sweetness. On the counter were some Dallas Caramels for $1 each. I bought 2, one with the chipotle kick and one marshmallow. Both melted quickly in my mouth almost before I could truly enjoy them. They were delicious bites of sweetness. I also chose skme cookie bites that I thought might be like energy bites. Instead they were a rather dry cookie but enjoyable as well. We did not purchase any of a large varoety of home decor items, like Swedish cloths and organic soaps. For unusual gifts, foods and decor, sustainable products and locally made items, this is a beautiful little shop and worth a visit!

Of all the folks inside, only one was wearing a mask. Folks were somewhat spread out, but it was impossible for our group to maintain 6 feet of separation from the group next to us and employees were walking around the entire place and interacting with all customers without masks on. When I asked the employee why they weren't following or enforcing the mandated mask requirements, she said they didn't have to because they were occasionally sipping coffee. Yeah, right. We decided it wasn't worth it to risk ours and our community's safety to stay. It's a shame because it looked like it would've been fun. There was a large selection of pottery styles to choose from. I've you've been vaccinated, already had COVID, or have an affinity for places that don't prioritize customer safety, it may be worth checking out. Otherwise, paint at your own risk.

They give classes here and they sell the work of a large number of potters. Lots of variety of styles. They also sell supplies and can special order clay and other materials for you. (My first visit here was to pickup clay that I couldn't easily get anywhere else). The shop is right in old town Manassas which is a nice little town with some great shops and restaurants. We usually set aside a few hours when we visit so we can look at everything in the pottery shop and the town and have lunch. It is a nice little field trip. I've not taken a class there (because I live too far away) but I've see the studio and they have everything needed to make a potter happy. I think that they also have studio space to rent if artists don't have a setup at home to work on pottery. I don't live in the area but would probably hang out there often if I did so I could meet some other potters and share ideas. Cheers, Amy
