When I visit…read moredowntown, I don't usually pass through the Made In Virginia Store, because I don't need to purchase any reminders of what I've left behind. This visit, however, I was buying gifts to take back with me, and I finally perused the shelves here with interest. Their selection of knick-knacks, jewelry and doodads, of candles and blankets and other housewares, is delightful. Their massive selection of candies, and the famous Virginia Peanut, was what I was looking for. I brought a proud armful of Virginia artifacts to the counter, and three-thousand miles later they have been cheerfully received. If you are looking for a place to mark your time in Fredericksburg, appreciate that you don't have to look any further! A special thank you to the young lady behind the counter, for bright conversation while I settled my bill. If Virginia should be famous for anything meaningful, it is the generations of memorable people who have called it home.

Hannah was our consultant and she was AMAZING, so patient and kind. We went back yesterday with the whole crew (my three girls, sister and her daughter, mom, another sister, two sisters videoed from Ireland, Aunt called in from another state) and I said yes to the most beautiful gown I've ever seen. And what a special surprise after you say yes to the dress. So many surprises and special little moments. These memories will stay with all of us but especially my little girls and I. Her communication throughout the process was excellent, and she was incredibly adaptable -- even when we threw in last-minute additions and changes. On the wedding day, her setup was flawless and left everyone in awe. The flowers were fresh, vibrant, and lasted beautifully all day. There's a cute little farm outside with fresh produce such as peaches and corn. The first thing I noticed right away was the selections of jams, jellies, and sauces when I walked in their little 'market.' We were given a little 'tasting' of the different jams, jellies, and syrups they had. My husband was a huge fan of their Peach Ghost Pepper Jelly (a nice sweet peach taste with a kapow at the end from the ghost pepper), and I was in love with their Malbec Grape Jam - yummy on toast, on crackers, on cheese, etc. I also loved their Toad's Raw Honey, straight from the combs on their farm - wonderful and absolutely delicious, and probably the best honey I've ever tasted! We also purchased a Malbec and a Pinot Noir from their vineyard for some family and friends, and I know that they'll love it. I would highly recommend in anyone visiting the Orange/Gordonsville/Charlottesville area to make a trip out to BerryWood - Mr. Eric and Ms. Brandy are so sweet, and I am all for supporting local businesses that actually have great-tasting lovely products! I am definitely going to continue ordering honey and the jams/jellies from them on, forever and ever. BerryWood is a cute bakery store, in the same building as the Honah Lee tasting room. Truthfully…read morethey should be the same Yelp page, but technically they are separate businesses, even though they occupy the same space. They have plenty of sweets here, as well as some 'farm' produce like eggs and a few veggies. But I'm a huge fan of the jams, especially the spicy ones. In fact they have a serving tray of like 10 jams for sampling, and it's hard to choose.

The dresses were all moderately…read morepriced - from bridal gowns to bridesmaids dresses - and the owner, Valerie and her daughter Michelle were there to assist. We had an appointment and were welcomed immediately. The store is in Spotsy Towne Center where the old Coldwater Creek store was (caddy corner from Bravos) and it's HUGE and very inviting. There is plenty of seating for family and the dressing rooms are enormous and private. There are ample mirrors in the dressing room so that if you don't like what you see, you can just skip the "fashion show" and change out of the dress before walking into the store to show family. My daughter, the bride, and my other two daughters, had the most absolutely relaxing and fun day trying on dresses and feeling pretty. The bride found her dress at dress number 3 and Michelle even helped her pick out accessories that finished off the ensemble. My daughters loved what they saw but one of them was 7 months pregnant and wanted to try on a few more that were closer to her size so she could get an idea of what it would look like. After a HORRIBLE experience at Formal Envy on William Street (see that review to compare), we ended up back at That's My Dress where Val was there to receive my daughters (who at this point were literally in TEARS) and gave them all a consoling hug. She was emotionally upset, too, for the ordeal we had been put through. Within 15 minutes, my youngest got the most beautiful dress and we were on our way. Val and Michelle saved the day and I couldn't be happier. Thank you ladies for salvaging what could have been a disastrous day for my girls. You are both AWESOME!!

Yesterday I went in for my first (and only) bridal fitting unsure of what to expect but hopeful that I would find MY dress for my July 2023 wedding. Of course my family was there and I also had a zoom meeting with my bridal party but Addy was very knowledgeable and informative about the process. She had me pick 3-5 dresses to try on and although we spoke about what kind of dress I was interested in she advised that I also pick at least 1-2 other styles of dresses to get a feel for my style and size. Who knew...that the first dress that I tried on would be THE ONE which made this process seamless. I will say this is almost a 5 star...my only complaint is I wish the sections were labeled better and in a way that flowed/make sense. Could not find tops/blouses...and center "higher end" racks ( free people anthropologie) didn't seem to have much. But alas I do really like we will return yes I
