Three times in the past year I've walked out before completing my purchase. The reason is always…read morethe same -- the cashier is walking a befuddled older woman through the steps for signing up for membership or some special on her phone. It usually takes about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, I and others are standing line waiting, waiting, waiting. The women always enter something wrong and sometimes the process needs to be restarted. When it happened the first time I waited patiently, thinking this was an exception. But when it happened again and again, I decided it wasn't worth the wait. I've stricken World Market off my list of places to shop. It's easier to just order online.

This company is the absolute worst! We ordered a futon and cushion for our daughter. The store…read morewhere we ordered it was an hour and a half away. We drove 90 minutes to pick the order up. When we arrived, the store manager explained that the only one they had was the floor model and that it was damaged, so they would have to order another. We took the cushion home and waited. Two days later, another store rep contacted us and told us that our order was in. We drove up a second time. They loaded it into our car and we drove home. When we got home, we noticed that it was damaged and was the floor model. We called the store and the apologized and said that had to order the item again. About a month later, it FINALLY came in. We drove back up with the damaged item and replaced it with the new item. The store did take off a percentage for the inconvenience. The really bad part is their awful credit card company. My wife fell for the bait and opened a credit card to get the 30% off discount. There was a lot of confusion with what we owed because of all the issues above. When she went to pay the credit card, ON THE DUE DATE, she did it in the late afternoon. Later, we found out that the credit card company charged a $30 late fee, even though she paid it ON THE DUE DATE. When she called to get the bogus fee removed, they told her the fee was because she made the payment after 5 PM and they couldn't process it until the following day. They also gave lame excuse after lame excuse for why they couldn't credit the full fee back. They offered a "one-time courtesy credit" of $15. When she elevated it to a supervisor, he wouldn't change it and said that $15 was the most they could do. They also charged another bogus $30 fee which they refused to refund. This credit card company that World Market uses is absolutely the worst, by far, that we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Now, we have paid the card off and are trying to close the account. Even closing the account is near impossible because every representative wants to read a long-winded script on why we shouldn't close it. This is so appallingly bad, that I cannot understate how horrible this company is. We're closing the account and will NEVER shop with this company again. If the CEO of this company, Eric Hunter, ever gets this feedback and reads it, he should do the right thing and send us at minimum $45 for the returned fees, the wasted time and effort of Three 3-hour round trips, and probably about an hour of wasted time on phone calls trying to reason with mindless "service" representatives that provide zero help and can only read from infuriating scripts.

I came to pick up a few bags of my new favorite vegan gummy bears and ended up leaving with half the store. We'll have the snack section anyway. I love international snack foods and shopping here beats hauling all of these delicious treats through customs in my carry-on... Plus the staff are nicer. Not only did they have the gummy bears I wanted, but they had different flavor varieties of my favorite Swedish fish candy (Not the Swedish Fish that you can get from any grocery store or drugstore... But the actual fish shaped gummy candy that's made in Sweden. Way different flavor. Way better!). Had to grab those. They also sold different boxes from Universal Yums (One of my favorite international snack food subscription boxes)! You know I had to grab one of those. Since it's the start of charcuterie-in-the-sunshine season (my favorite time of year), I picked up a few things to make a lovely gift basket for a friend: An assortment of prosecco splits, and different bags of mini snacks and nibbles including smoked cheese, olives, garlic bread flavored bruschetta, and Bourbon infused pecans. I was surprised that they also sold beef salami here. As a non-pork eater, I was absolutely thrilled by this and picked up a couple of packs for myself. I also grabbed a few bags of the international flavors of Lay's potato chips including spicy lobster, chicken wing, and Yakitori. Can't wait to enjoy those with some triple creme brie. I stumbled upon a couple of extra gift items including a brass peacock ring holder that is going to make a fantastic birthday gift for one of my friends. As much as I loved all of my fines, the service was by far the best part of this visit. Abbe was absolutely amazing. She helped me unlock some rewards that I didn't even know were available to me. Although I'm a member of the rewards program, I wasn't aware of any of the coupons or promotions available outside of the Clearance signs that I saw in the store. She was telling me about them as she was ringing me up, and she walked me through how to access them from my phone. I ended up saving 15% on my purchase, getting $10 back in rewards, and even getting a free gift. She did not have to take the extra time to walk me through it, or even tell me about it, but I'm so grateful that she did. I Love this store so much. I had such a great time here and I can't wait to come back to spend my rewards cash!

I can spend hours strolling in this store browsing at the unique things they sell. My favorite is the international food section, so many delicious options, sweet and savory. Other than that, they have great offerings and friendly staff!

We picked 2 items and went to register - by the way there was no line as the store was empty. Cashier looks at the gift box of chocolate and other Christmas item, and states she needs the manager to approve. Manager then comes over to yell at us about customer reclamation project where he accuses every customer of moving merchandise to sales table. I'm sure everyone woke up the morning after Christmas to rush to Homegoods to move merchandise. We asked for them to call District Manager, at which point he again lectures us, but refuses to walk 25 feet to look at the sales table. In my opinion, the way he treated us is because of our race. Maybe it would be in the customers best interest to actually put clearance stickers on the clearance merchandise instead of blaming customers for them not doing their job. Incidentally, don't fall for their credit card - 34.99% interest rate is highway robbery, plus they offer no promotional financing for large purchases.

I was in town on an early Friday night, and the store was EMPTY. Friday late afternoon and early evening in my store is swamped because people want to see what's new. By the end of the day Saturday, whatever you wanted Friday and didn't get is gone! I saw a cabinet on Friday that I made myself a deal with -- if I came back after work Saturday afternoon and it was still there, I'd get it. Well, it was. So I did. Yay! There was second piece that I was eyeballing... it was waiting for a customer to pick up when I got back Saturday!

I just wish that the folks working were more efficient and friendlier. I don't love that they take the tags off when you buy things. I know that's their process and it's all final sale anyway, but it'd be ideal to have an itemized breakdown. I thought the sweatshirt I was buying was $26 because it was situated in the same display as other sweatshirts that were $26 (display pictured). My fault for not taking note of the specific one I picked up, which was $38. The price difference felt a bit outrageous for the same brand of shirt and I had to email them to confirm the price. The line to check out took about 25 minutes. I am in my 30s, but I do have a bad back, so standing in place hurts. I listened as they gracefully apologized to all the older folks ahead of me, but they barely said a word to me when it was finally my turn, much less an apology for the excessive wait. I just wish that, being that it's nearly 2025, they'd consider a more efficient check-out system. I included that feedback in my email to them, though they didn't acknowledge it sadly. That would've been a great time to apologize and confirm that they will do a better job of treating guests equally regardless of appearance in the future. Five stars for the quality goods; one star for the service, but I'm rounding my review up to be kind.
