What a magical dress shop! I had always heard wonderful things about this shop and my experience was AMAZING!! They called the day before and left a very heartfelt message welcoming to the shop and getting me excited for my appointment. When I arrived, the doors were opened for us and we were greeted by the friendliest staff! Ava Laurénne is the site of an old bank and it has such a unique character. They had some dresses on the bottom floor as well as a few bride stations and their bridal suite with snacks and activities. I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Patty for my appointment. Patty really listened to me and put me in different options I never had considered, a lot of which were top choices! Party was so friendly, caring, passionate and really had a great eye! I tried on many dresses and am very picky and Patty was patient and never tried to rush me. Patty really kept my budget in mind when showing me dresses as well. The dress I ended up buying was $500 less than the top of my price point, which gives me more flexibility for alterations. I ended up finding a really unique dress here which is perfect for my wedding day! I purchased the dress and then they gave me the full bride experience! They brought me downstairs and gave me a free t-shirt, they gave us drinks and snacks, and took my picture in many spots around the store. A really nice and special activity was going into the Phone booth and leaving a voicemail for my fiancé about my excitement for the wedding. My mom, sister, and I had a blast! A lot of my friends and people I've met in northern Virginia have told me that they got their wedding dress here. I didn't know whether the hype was overstated. I ended up listening to them and booking my appointment during their July sale... And boy am I glad I did. Their social media presence is also fantastic. I was able to watch fashion shows and pictures of all of the collections and gowns that they offer in order to build up the suspense for my appointment!! This bridal shop is a unique hidden gem in downtown Fredericksburg. I really want to romanticize and do all of my bridal planning to the fullest. I went to New York City to try wedding dresses and in reality I can say that none of my experiences measured up to the one I experienced here. The individuals here are so kind and really pay attention and listen to their brides. They are very well trained in fit and every detail of wedding gowns. Everything was so thoughtfully planned they had many photo opportunities, snacks, and even some heartfelt touches that family and friends can take part in to make the day one you will truly never forget. They have a recording old school phone booth in which you can leave a voicemail and the recording is sent to your email so that you can play it for your groom to commemorate the day that you picked your wedding dress- it was incredibly emotional and beautiful touch. My family was thrilled with small pieces of paper with filling the blank statements towards the bride on a special occasion like this one. The moment our stylist understood what I was looking for in the vision of my wedding dress, she went to the back and picked out the ones that applied to the July sale and the first dress that I tried on ended up being my dress. It's true that they say you think you know what you want but often walk away with something totally different and even better than you imagined! I not only Walked away with a stunning dress, but one that was at a price point to which my mother was able to gift me with. They have all the bridal accessories too!! The confetti popper was just a cherry on top. The manager of the store and her daughter are truly incredible. They have partnerships with alterations specialists and wedding dress preservers for when you need that too! Once purchased my dress was instantly shipped to be cleaned for a low fee. it was a great day combined with tears, laughs, and even within walking distance to some great restaurants for when you're so relieved to have finally found the dress all you really want next is a good filling meal! My wife and I had our first bridal gown experience with Ava Laurenne in late 2023. Having worked in the wedding industry, I'd followed them for a long time and loved their showroom! I was so excited to see it for myself. We had a great experience working with Abi as our stylist. She was so bubbly and excited for us and brought a great energy to the appointment. Though I didn't buy my dress right away, I did come back a few weeks later to try it on again, and was so happy I did! With some customizations, it ended up being perfect. My wife chose and bought her first gown at the first visit. While we enthusiastically and unanimously agreed with her choice, ultimately it was a disservice to squeeze her into a gown 4 sizes smaller than she would need to order. Of course, we didn't know that until the dress came in. The dress felt very differently on her than it had during try-on. The neckline seemed very different, too. We believed that with the right alterations, it would be alright. Cut to three weeks before our wedding at our final alterations appointment where she realized she still didn't like it. Luckily we were able to secure a different gown for her to wear on the wedding day and she felt amazing! While I understand we should have said something when we picked up the gown, we just couldn't have known. I wish that a) they had used a piece of fabric in the back of the gown when she tried it on instead of squeezing her into it, and b) we didn't feel as much pressure to buy that day. In the end, I know it isn't 100% Ava Laurenne's fault, but worth noting. My only other critique is how over-the-top that first appointment felt after my wife chose her gown. We were taken downstairs to a seating area and were asked (not by our stylist, but another employee) to pull a prompt from a box in what felt like a very manufactured way of getting us to connect with our friends who had come along. We felt like we weren't allowed to leave. It left a strange taste in our mouth. read more

Going through the dresses I noticed none of them that she had picked were anything like the dresses I had shown. One of the dresses I had put on I had said out loud I wasn't liking the way it was sitting on me/ fitting my body type and her response was well I can't give you a BBL. She also had stated that "this isn't like say yes to the dress , you aren't gonna immediately know it's your dress". Which I totally disagree and proved wrong when I went somewhere else. The quality of their dresses is high in comparison to something in the same price range. One cute little touch that they have is that they have names for all our their dresses. They've even got dresses that are one of a kind! Literally, you would be the only one with that dress and those ones you can choose it's name. The store is beautiful, it is located right across from Hyperion cafe and used to be an old bank. Inside the bank vault they have refreshments and snacks. What a wonderful experience My daughter invited me to her wedding dress shopping. I thought this was a women's only experience but was honored that I was asked and so I went with little expectation of the event. What a wonderful experience! From walking in the door and being greeted to the celebration of choosing the right dress, this was a first-class experience. The building is on the corner of Princess Anne Street and William Street. Parking is street parking and can be a little challenging. As you enter you are greeted and introduced to the person designated as your guide for dress shopping. The building is an old converted bank that has a large open atrium and dresses on stands around the first floor and the 2nd story. Our guide brought out numerous dresses and helped our daughter try on and critique each dress. Finally deciding on one dress and celebrations ensued. They made us feel welcome and like a family throughout the whole process. It was a great time with wonderful people that made it a truly memorable time for a special day. Ava Laurenne is one of the best things that happened to me during my wedding journey! I had heard about ALB from FB groups and when I saw they were doing a trunk show for Justin Alexander, I knew I had to check it out. Natali was so helpful and even though I found my dress that day, I felt 0 pressure to buy in that moment (I even was offered help to try on one more dress that I saw on my way out of the store). The best part of ALB came 10 days out from my wedding when I realized my ALB wedding dress had been messed up in alterations (by a tailor unrelated to and far from ALB). Katie sprang into action and offered to have their in house tailors (Shannon and Christie) try to fix it the next day. She had backup plans to her backup plans - immediately calming me down - and ended up having a new version of dress overnighted. We started fittings from scratch 1 week before my wedding! I was fitted that day at ALB and came back to a dress a few days later that fit and looked so much better. I can't thank ALB enough for taking one of the most stressful situations I've ever experienced and turning it into me getting the dress of my dreams. This was the second bridal boutique I visited and I was completely blown away! I had made an appointment but was traveling from out of town and got in an hour earlier than expected but they took me right away. The owner, Wendy, greeted us and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. Our consultant was Ashley and she was absolutely wonderful! Although their website says their gowns range from $1,200-$5,000 I told Ashley I wanted to keep my dress under $1500 and she said that wouldn't be a problem at all. She never brought a dress that was over budget and each gown was beautifully made and looked very, very high-end. I ended up choosing a dress from their private label which was absolutely beautiful. It was not the style I originally thought I wanted, but after working with Ashley it definitely was the most flattering on my body- I felt like a princess and didn't want to take the dress off! Ashley was never pushy and super helpful answering all of my questions. I cannot WAIT to wear my dress in 11 months. I didn't have a terrible experience, but it wasn't the fabulousness I was expecting. I was happily surprised they had as many dresses in my size, as a bigger girl, that they did. However, they let me pull most of my own dresses. As a new bride (this was only my second appointment), I have no idea what looks good on me and bridal is so vastly different than even normal evening gowns. That made it was a bit frustrating and I ended up not really liking anything. They girls were very sweet but I didn't get the feeling they had experience dressing a full figured bride. As a cautionary word, I will say be mindful of your budget. I'd pull something out (since I was pulling my own stuff) and my consultant would have to check how much it was. It seemed like she was familiar with the fashion of their dresses but not the price points off hand. I'd fall in love with the dress on the hanger and have to put it back because it was out of my price range. Don't get me wrong -- They've got a great reputation in town and have some fabulous dresses. Growing up in Fxburg I always thought I'd get my dress from them but I didn't fall in love with anything. I am very pregnant and finally marrying my fiancé after 8 years. We came in without a lot of time before the wedding- about a month. The dress itself I purchased was $800 DO NOT EXPECT that if anything at all happens you will get discounted or reimbursed or exchanged. The saleslady knew I was at the top of my budget for the dress ( I told her!!) and told me alterations would be affordable if I drove to a place in manassas. I called and they quoted me 500$ to take in the dress to fit me snugly in the waist I called several other places and found this price similarly everywhere While I understand it is not their job to warn me technically about alteration cost- it's most certainly something that should've been mentioned since I was spoken to about how crazy the alteration cost would be on SOME of the dresses I tried on. Also, most of us are new to the wedding industry and don't know this stuff off the top of our head. I expected $250 max, not over $500!! was not told their sales policy or no refunds under any circumstance before purchasing. I am now two weeks from my wedding and screwed with an off the rack dress I can't fit because apparently- $500 to alter a $800 is normal and reasonable... You will see their sales policy only on the receipt that's sent to email AFTER you purchase it and you're screwed I'm so dissapointed with the experience because I really loved my sales agent Brittany and thought she was so sweet, Also want you all to know I called to return this dress less than 24 hours I feel the shop is predatory for allowing no room for returns when I would've never bought the dress had I been warned and $800 dress would cost me $1400 after alterations There's a dress I tried on that very day that I almost picked that would've been perfect without any alterations and despite knowing about the costs to alter this dress I was never warned Please , DO NOT go there if you're on a budget... $800 was a lower end dress for them, and ultimately you will get screwed the second they get your money They have beautiful dresses and a gorgeous shop, but AWFUL policies and you better pray your wedding goes down to a t the way you planned it , cause they do not give a damn one way or the other read more

Buying a wedding gown is one of the most important decisions any woman can make. I had been to multiple other bridal shops before my appointment at Ava Laurenne and was expecting a similar experience. I got something so much more. Initially I hadn't looked there as it seemed upscale and out of my price range but after more research I found they have dresses as low as a hundred dollars and cater to every need. Don't be intimidated by their fancy look and feel. They are amazing people who really care and that came through right away. From the moment you arrive they make you feel like they want to make you happy, not sell you things, not make you spend more money, but to really truly make you happy. It came through with their amazing staff, the ambiance of the store. After describing what I was looking for my consultant pulled numerous dresses within my budget. She asked question about what I had tried and liked and even wanted to see any pictures I had. She asked about my wedding and my fiancé not just because she had to but because she had a genuine interest. I had my mom, my sister (maid of honor) and two of my best friends (bridesmaids) with me and she talked to them about what I wanted and got their thoughts and ideas. We all felt at ease. I tried on a few and had a maybe. Then I put on dress number three and it felt right. It for amazing for a sample, we added a jeweled belt to personalize it more and I walked out to my friends and family with a gasp. Everyone loved it. It felt right. And I never wanted to take it off. I had 3 more in the dressing room though and wanted to give them a shot but none touched that other dress. So we put it back on and I came out again to the same reaction the second time. Other people came in and stopped to tell me how gorgeous it was and how amazing it looked. I told them it was my dress and got a wonderful surprise from the owners (I can't give away what it is, go pick your dress there and find out!). We took numerous pictures and there was never any pressure. I got a high quality Justin Alexander lace gown, stayed on budget and got all I wanted without compromise. When I marry my fiancé it's for forever but I'll have to do a vow renewal at some point just so I can go shop there again. I'll be back for bridesmaid dresses, fittings etc. I look forward to doing business again with a company that cares about you as a PERSON not just as a customer. Five stars easily. I visited Ava Laurenne Bride after visiting five different wedding dress boutiques in the DMV and trying on a countless amount of dresses. So, here are some things that stood out to me about Ava Laureene when comparing to other places in the DMV (not in any particular order): 1. Customer Service 2. Bridal treatment/experience (they offer snacks, drinks, intimate areas to try on your dress and even host your family and friends) 3. Price 4. Variety of wedding dresses and prices (two floors of dresses) 5. The store itself - honestly this bridal store is breathtaking, from the moment you walk in you get all the bridal feels. Basically, if you want it, they got it! I was blown away by the attention to detail and treatment I was given. I did not feel like, "just another bride," I felt special, and I owe that to Patty who worked with me and all the employees there. I was that very indecisive bride and I never felt rushed or pushed into making a decision, they also did not pull the, "you should buy this dress now so it will get here in time," line that a lot of places use to pressure you. I think the cherry on top is that Patty offered to give me her number and to reach out with any questions/ concerns, and every time I have reached out she has been so kind and responsive. I don't know if this is part of the Ava Laurenne bridal experience but regardless this is the place to get your dress! I am in love with the dress I picked and it was well within my budget. My advice to brides in the DMV would be to take that 45- 1 hour drive to Ava Laurenne Bride because you won't regret it! Also, it's worth looking into their bridal packages offered. I cannot say enough positive things about Ava Laurenne! From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by the sweetest girls. They take the time to get to know you, your style, your wedding details, your fiance, and your ring (which apparently says a lot about your style). I worked with Ashley (who is a twin and her twin works there so don't get confused when you see two! haha), who was the absolute best! It is so important for your wedding dress consultant to try and get to know you to make the process much easier. After she had enough information, she began to pull dresses that were within my budget and completely my style. Once I tried on the dresses that I had pulled and were not impressed, she began her magic! She listened carefully and brought dresses that I would have never picked but was describing! I told her from the beginning that I would most likely not be purchasing my dress that day due to the fact that I am a patient, non-impulsive buyer, and she completely understood. She kept up the high spirit and wonderful customer service. However, after going to other bridal salons since Ava Laurenne, I can confidently say that their customer service is above and beyond any other bridal salon! They are Amazing! Before coming to Ava Laurenne, I had been to 8 different dress shops. None of them compared to this shop! The selection of dresses and the friendliness was exceptional! I found a dress at this shop after searching everywhere. They never made me feel crazy, even though I felt like I was acting crazy lol, and they never showed their frustration even though I am probably one of the hardest brides to deal with since I am so indecisive.
