I'm getting surgery on my elbow so im going to have to skip a month but don't goo to any other tanning salons, itans hours are great and the staff is. Great. Misleading advertising. They don't have what's advertised on their websites. The tanning beds are very very old and broken down. They should not be used. The spray tans were out of commission too- they said they are out of the liquid. Their system is very slow and glitchy. I would skip this location. read more

light bulbs are ALWAYS SO BAD. They only get changed when 1 completely goes out. Im so tired of driving to Elcajon, where ALL the bulbs get changed a couple of times a year. I was also told my rate would NEVER change regardless of how long ive been a member, they raised my price a couple of months ago! So raising everyones price and not doing better by updating their bulbs is a complete fail!!!! read more

Very Janky level 5 bed in room 1 at the La Mesa location. The cooling fans don't work on machine (in fact none of the buttons work and the whole control panel is broken) and they have a wall fan that doesn't cool down anything while the bed is on. What a joke. Time to upgrade your "highest" performance bed. What else are we paying $90 a month for??? Get with the program, ITan La Mesa! Yuck. The customer service was awesome the first time I went there to iTan in La Mesa! The young lady by the name of Kylie was super sweet and friendly that by the time I got done with my first spray tan session, she had me sold as an iTAN club member . To find out, it turned out that all of the young ladies such as Adrina, Jessica, Taylor, that works there are just as friendly and nice like Kylie, each time I went there which is wonderful to me as this location has trained its employees the meaning of customer's satisfaction and how to make guests feel comfortable in their ambiance! Secondly, I love the spray tan booth cuz I'm out the door within ten minutes!! Love that it's quick and easy! However I was wondering if there was any way to get the tan from smearing onto my clothes after the session! Is there a way the tanning machine/booth, air dry me a bit longer??? That would be so helpful to not have to worry about my wardrobe having brown tan marks all over it by the time I've realized it! I started my one week trial on Sunday, June 1. They even had me put my card on file for after my week trial ends I can continue . I go in today to do my third session of my seven day free trial and the girls at the counter inform me that my week trial is already expired, which is inaccurate Because I am only on day number three. Every time I come into this location I spend $10 on tanning lotion and now all of a sudden my seven day trial is up that doesn't make sense to me and they did not want to hear anything I had to say, which is very disappointing. All I want to do is use the remaining Four days of my free trial before I start paying for monthly service. Not to mention every time I come to this location I have to wait at the counter for 10 minutes because their computer system is never working. How will you promote your business If you don't actually give people the free seven day trial as advertised. This makes me not want to do business with you whatsoever. read more

So, I personally took the time to drive ALL the way to the Santee location even though I live walking distance from this location. I went the La Mesa location once, yup just once. It was bad so I decided driving was worth it... Then I found out La Mesa had a NEW OWNERSHIP!!! So I did my research and found out the new owner is Erin Naanee (she actually owns all the nicest Itans in San Diego). Since Erin took ownership of this location, I had to swing by. I am in awe and shock at how many improvements Erin had made to this location in less than a month. I'm excited to see it once she is finished cause if you've seen the other itans then you know the makeover this location is in for!! Bed 2..... My happiness! Hit the Caribic button for an amazing sun kissed glow. My 10 minutes of relaxation. I have been going to iTAN almost 2 years. I have never had any problems with the La Mesa location, everyone there is so sweet and helpful. Beds are always clean and the rooms are always nice. Jenna acts like she is part of your family and wholeheartedly asks you how life is how was your day and just seems so interested in what's going on. That alone makes you feel great when you go there the beds are amazing and I just really like spending 20 minutes of my day there. read more

I'm all for giving credit where it's due: After previous bad experiences at the La Mesa location I avoided it completely going to the Santee or Mission Valley locations only. (Even though I live in La Mesa!) Like I said in my previous review, I've always loved iTAN and have been going for years! WELL today was my first time back to La Mesa since my last bad encounter, and I was so pleasantly surprised! They seem to have gotten new owners who have tried to update the place and FINALLY there were girls at the front desk who were friendly and THERE! Even though I grew up in San Diego, I don't tan outside very much. My friends wanted to go to the beach this weekend, and I didn't want to look like snow white. I understand that this spot is under new management but I am extremely disappointed with the policies. We had signed up at the end of February and had to pay initiation fees although there is signage outside with a $0 initiation fee. The person at the front desk explained that the signs were accidentally left outside for a customer appreciation event. It's now getting towards the end of March and the signs are still up along with newer signs with a $1 initiation fee, so I brought up my concerns. This rep now says that there was a technicality that I had old info stored from 2012; however my friend also got charged full initiation fee and she was a completely new client. We both also had to fill out new client paperwork which I wouldn't have to if I had an existing account. She then said the other rep must've been new staff but couldn't refund due to company policy, only offer credit even if it was their mistake. After much back and forth the rep did end up calling corporate to give my friend back her initiation fee, so I do appreciate that but unfortunately we are both ending our memberships bc the policies seem misleading. read more

Ridiculously pushy salespeople! Like crazy. My daughter and cousin had a laughable experience with how pushy and rude the salespeople are. One woman even said the spray tan will be "ugly and orange" (direct quote) if the bronzer wasn't purchased. Another woman barely explained how to turn the machine on-just said to "push the button" and walked out (even after explaining it was the first time using the machine). When chatting about this at work two of my coworkers also had the same type of bad experience at this location. Never will return when the Mission Valley location is so close and the staff so nice. read more

Went into Itan La Mesa today to take advantage of the $1 sign-up deal along with 40% off product purchases. I was greeted by Paris who took the time to give me a tour of all their rooms and offerings. I was surprised to see the new higher-end tanning beds and Paris educated me on how these beds are safer than the old-school ones I am used to; like the ones they have at Chuze! I ended up signing up for Sun-Spray-Spa because it was such an awesome deal and I will be grandfathered into the pricing! I originally went in wanting to sign up for Spray but try some of their Spa offerings; specifically the Fit Wrap and Photofacial!! Left ready to prep my mind, body, and face for the Summer!! I decide to give Itan another try. But as usual it never seems to fail. Another booth was closed due to an employee broke tanning bed or something with the tanning bed #2 bed. Granted #1 and #2 are the only beds I use. And I had to use #3. And that is not a reason for me to pay monthly bills of over 100.00. I was told that the manager or owner would be calling me about a 1 month ago. And here I am waiting for that mysterious person to call me. I doubt anyone will be calling me back. Loving my I TAN La Mesa!!! They have recently renovated and remodeled and the staff is more than amazing. Audrey, Haley, Ciarra, Kailee, Julia and Amanda are some of my favorite people around town. If you are looking for a great place to go tan there are always specials on just about every product in the place. I swear by the lotion membership. 10/10/18 - Update: Someone from the company commented on my initial review below and promised someone would contact me. No one has contacted me still. Additionally, I actually emailed the contact provided below in her response in an effort to get some answers and STILL NO reply. I am shocked and incredibly disappointed. I will be cancelling my membership for sure now. What a bummer. Initial Review: Girls are all nice enough but legitimately every time I come in to tan in the bed I pay for.... its unavailable. They offer a lower bed or stand up. It would be nice to have them say "hey, hop in the next bed up since YOUR bed is unavailable." It's not the customer's fault that the facility doesn't have enough beds to accommodate memberships. For paying $60 a month and being able to walk in and tan maybe once in every four times I come... it's pretty crappy. I will have to look into other tanning facilities that can accommodate memberships. Super disap read more

The two stars are towards the staff (they deserve 5 stars actually) but the low score is due to the constant state of the spray tan machines. I moved to La Mesa in 2018 and have been a member of iTan since. This location has been extremely convenient however since 2018- the spray tan machines at this location are consistently out of order, in need of repair, don't spray directly, flooded with tanner water and are dirty, etc. Despite the constant breakdown of each of the spray tan machine, the owner has yet to purchase a new machine. And not only that, they never alert customers to the breakdown of the machines, only telling you when you come in which is a huge waste of one's time. Word to other spray tan aficionados- DONT COME TO THIS LOCATION. Go to Mission Valley, El Cajon or Santee location. The owners there at least maintain the machines and they are always in working, clean condition read more

Umm I am a very good customer of Itan and I have never had an experience like I have at this location. That's not a good thing....I walked in and asked the girl if I could do the room 1 , which I already knew was a level 5 bed full time she said actually have someone else going in there right now. There was a friend of hers that pulled up AFTER me and came in AFTER me and she let her use that bed. I said what other level beds are open? She didn't even know! She said I'm not sure. So I said ok what level is the bed in the second room and she still didn't know. Ok?? Never been to an itan where they didn't even know the answer to that basic question. PS don't let someone cut in line that's not fair and I will never be back to this Itan. La Jolla is the best and cleanest. read more
