The guy here was so extremely helpful walked me through everything, helped with the machine and went above and beyond. His coworker and him worked very well together the dynamic was professional. The only reason I'm giving this location a three is because the staff is very nice!!! Other than that this location has been run very cheap by the current owner!! Can't even use the restroom at this location to wash hands or go pee!! They blame it on the shopping center having bad plumbing but yet the bathrooms work at five guys where they suggest we go?! You pay a membership somewhere and you can't even wash hands or go pee... How ridiculous! Although I appreciate the responses from both the owner and management, they didn't actually resolve anything or offer any real attempt to make things right -- especially considering how much this has personally inconvenienced me, including the trouble it caused with my work reimbursements. It's just apology after apology. The email listed the issues they claim to be working on, but we're now three months in and I've seen no real progress. That doesn't inspire confidence. They also mentioned offering "suggested slow times" to access the one premium bed that people are paying extra for. That's not a solution. People schedule around work, kids, and other responsibilities. Telling them to come when it's convenient for the salon -- not when it works for the customer -- only highlights how mismanaged the whole situation is. Still charging a premium for access to a single bed that's frequently unavailable, and offering timing suggestions instead of fixing the root issue, isn't added value. It's just another way to avoid addressing the problem. The emails may sound thoughtful, but they miss the point. I didn't leave my original review looking for an apology or a phone call. I wanted action. Accountability. A sign that they actually care enough to fix the problems and make up for the ongoing inconveniences. Instead, it's been more delays, vague timelines, and not even a small discount for services that haven't been delivered as promised. If anything changes, I'll gladly update this. But as it stands, the only thing consistent about the iTAN Hillcrest experience is the cycle of excuses and inaction. read more

I've never left a review for a tanning salon before but I recently moved out of SD and it has made me appreciate this place even more! Prior to this location, I had only ever been to the downtown location (which was getting much needed renovations right before I moved) because it was walking distance from my office, but I was working from home one day and decided to try this location. It was super clean and felt luxurious, like a spa should feel. The beds were high tech but easy to use, and they have speakers so you can jam while you're tanning! The girls were so friendly and gave off such a good energy. I hadn't tanned in a few years prior to coming in so I really had no idea which bed I should start with, and they were super knowledgeable and explained why they picked the bed/amount of time for me to start with. I am a fairly regular sprayer but don't have a membership and pay $45 for each tan. Last week I came in for mystic. I knew something was off when I left. After a few hours, I had to return because I did not get the appropriate application. *was a huge inconvenience* The second tan came out horrible because of the misapplication with the first one. I had to scrub it all off with baking soda, baby oil, and lemon juice Fast forward to yesterday. I needed a tan for vacation. I got the same thing. Mystic with booster and bronzer. AGAIN, I knew it didn't work. I told the front desk person as I was leaving, and she said no, it will show up in a few hours. It didn't! I knew it wouldn't. I couldn't go back that night because the business was close. Couldn't come this morning because I'm on a plane for vacation. If you are going to charge $45 for a tan, your machine should be maintained in a way that we get what we pay for. A refund is in order. read more

Decided to drive up to Hillcrest this time instead of going to my usual location downtown since Hillcrest has a parking lot. It's a small lot, but easily found a spot on a Thursday afternoon. I walked in and the 2 girls at the front were super friendly, we chatted about my 2 options for a spray tan since I don't go that often. We decided on the versa. Someone was in there, so I just had to wait about 10 minutes. Then one walked me back to show me the ropes, how to hold my arms and move around etc, it was all very easy and clean. Let's face it, we should all know the dangers inherent in getting a tan. I understand that. But what happened to me recently is NOT okay. First, I will say that I have had overall good experiences with this location. It is clean and the staff are friendly. I do get tired of the constant upselling, but that is their job. However, the last time I went in I had a terrible experience. I always use the same bed, same time, and I go about once or twice a week. I've never had any problems. But I got severely burned the last time I went. It's very bad. When I called to ask why this might have happened, the girl on the phone blew me off and told me to call back later. I didn't bother as they obviously don't care. I have no idea why I got so burned. Did they change the bulbs? Who knows, but I will NEVER go back. It's bed #2, by the way, so BE CAREFUL. They do not warn you and they do not seem to care. ASK EVERY TIME whether or not they are using new bulbs. Of course, I have no way of knowing if that's why I got burned to a crisp, but I know it wasn't anything I did. I didn't change a thing. I've been going there for over a year. SO BEWARE!!!!! Tan at your own risk and always ask about the bulbs, because they are NOT going to warn you. read more

I got an immediate tour from amber that was so informative. I own a small business and have been in customer service for 10 years and she really impressed me.
