By the time I got to the counter it was 9:06 and I was told that I could not get same day service because it needed to be there at 9:00 am. 6 mins. I asked them to patch a pants pocket and they forgot to do it. When I brought the pants back they tried to make the ridiculous argument that they patched the _other_ side pocket, and left the hole in the pocket that was busted because that was what was requested. Lol take responsibility. This businesses not respect its clients in the community no matter how long you patronize them. I feel if I had been from their same ethnic group or Caucasian they would not have argued the point and corrected the obvious mistake. Going back to my old cleaner, one monkey does not stop the show! This place lost our clothes which were also for an important event. Also, once it was realized, they showed no urgency or accountability to return or reimburse us for lost items. Instead, they nagged some poor soul to return it to the store (they had their own lives, work, etc.). The lack of urgency or accountability says it all. I had an expensive white dress cleaned. I had only worn the dress once. When I showed them the red spot on the back of the white dress and asked them to clean it......the spot did not come out. I reluctantly left with my dress ruined. Two months later, I look at the dress and notice the entire hem is out. I asked that they hem the dress and was told that I should have checked the hem before leaving. Be sure and check your clothes before you leave and do not settle for inferior service! read more

People complain about the personality of one person (I know who she is and I've experienced the same thing) and paying at drop off, but they get the clothes done and they get them done right, so that all you have to do it come in, get your clothes, and go (I hope I didn't jinx myself). Oh, and how can people complain about the driveway? I don't believe that they didn't have it built that way or even had much of a choice in the matter, they just rented the space. I have been using Evergreen Cleaners twice a month for six years. I drop off in the mornings and the morning staff is absolutely wonderful. I have really appreciated that I don't even have to give them my name anymore, I walk in and they automatically start pulling my clothes. I have never had any issues with this place. I also bring my comforter to get cleaned here and it is always ready ahead of schedule. The prices are some of the best in town as well. I highly recommend this place! read more

One person actually walked away and let me sort my own clothes and, after roughly two minutes, she asked "are you almost ready"? This is the closest dry cleaner to where I live and I used to come here often. The people who work here are totally indifferent and unmotivated. Finally got sick of the bad customer service and found another cleaner. Be VERY careful pulling into/out of the parking lot or you will scrape out the bottom of your car...the management knows about this issue and have posted a sign saying they're not responsible for damages to your vehicle...instead of maybe fixing the issue. I live very close to this place and have given them several second chances for convenience sake. The main problem is they have you pay up front and if they cannot get a stain out, they still press the garment, effectively cooking the stain in. Refund doesn't seem to be in their (limited but serviceable) english vocabulary. It would be one thing if they said, sorry we can't clean that and handed it back to me, but this destructive behavior is unacceptable. They ruined one of my work shirts and my girlfriends expensive dress. Another brand new shirt has a couple light oil stains they should have caught. The second problem is that whatever chemicals they use to dry-clean eventually make your clothes smell bad. I have a pair wool/polyester mix pants that are pretty much unwearable due to stench after a year or two of their cleaning. Finally pre-pay with a 3 garment minimum is ridiculous. If you don't follow my review, watch out for the entrances to the parking lot they are super steep and will scrape up the bottom of your car. park across the street on calumet. The only positive item is that they will replace missing buttons on the shirt if you ask for it, and if the spares are still on the shirt. read more

I've been going to Evergreen for four to five years, because there just aren't that many options in the Med Center/Museum District area. I was bringing my clothes pretty regularly until I started to notice a foul smell on them. It was so bad I was hesitant to go back. You pay ahead of time and the pricing is reasonable. They have a seamstress available but I do not recommend her for large modifications. She is very expensive and to be honest did not do a good job. The stitching in a pair of shorts ended up coming undone once I was home. You have to pay for the alterations before getting them back. And when you get them back, the lady doesn't have you try them on to make sure what she did was correct. I ended up just tossing a denim shirt that she worked on because it was a mess of a look. read more

So far, no problems but agree with reviews that say if you have something really special, maybe it's worth a splurge in cleaning somewhere else. Otherwise, women's prices are very reasonable, approx $1.49-$1.99 for blouses, pants. $4.99 for coats, somewhere in between for blazers and sweaters. Evergreen Cleaners is quick (usually 1 day) and relatively inexpensive ($3.00 for a suit jacket). They take payment in advance and accept credit cards for orders over $5.00. I've never had any problems with their service. It's fast and friendly service. PS. Someone asked "What makes them 'Green'?" as in environmental. Evergreen appears to be just a name and not an indication of environmental goodness. LOL. As with most cleaners, they use a lot of materials (plastics, paper, wire hangers). I do not know that they use the newer greener dry cleaning process. read more

Their prices are cheap for a reason. I dropped off my suit pants to get fixed and they did a sub-par job on them. They also left on some chalk stains, and I left it there again for them to clean. When I got them back, I didn't notice anything different. My friend had the same problem. Go there for wash and press. Go somewhere to dry-clean your suits. read more

Took 3 suits in to be dry cleaned. Two came out fine, the third one was quite significantly singed on the collar, discoloring the area from the black the suit should be to white. I will not go back. The staff is also unfriendly and rude. read more

This place is trash! I use to come here all the time before the prices increased and the quality decreased. I had 7 pairs of pants that needed alterations and the lady told me $15. Are u kidding me????? If your skills compliment that price for a cleaners then yes, by all means. If customers ( me raising my hand) receive a pair of slacks only to get home and try them on and see one leg is noticeably longer than the other.... Hell no for $15. I can do a crappy job myself without paying you to do it for me. Then the lady told me for one pair of pants to take 1/8 of an inch is $10..am I missing something??? I allowed them to do that one and bill was $11.69 before the taxes... Smh......run the other way. The pricing was incorrect as if they are making up prices as they go along. I came here to get three skirts altered and I thought the prices were way too high but I needed the work done within the week. When I dropped them off they told me to pay for all the work up front- that's ridiculous because I need to see the quality of the work first. So we went back and forth and she told me I could pay half now and half when I came back. I came back and SHE WOULDNT GIVE ME MY CLOTHES BACK until after I paid her. Like she wouldn't even let me try on my clothes in the place until I gave her money. That really pissed me off. The quality was fine but I will never return. That was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've experienced. Trash. Avoid them if you can and you can... There are better cheaper places with morals. read more

Wish they would share what makes them green [do they actually do anything green?!?!]. I spend a little over $3 to get two complicated women's shirts dry cleaned. I didn't have the shrinkage or destruction problems that others have reported and complained about here on yelp; however I was kind of wary after the bad reviews and the non-liability sign displayed prominently in the story. I would not recommend this place. I will not bore you with the gory details, but the customer service is beyond atrocious and almost "smart ass". The work is mediocre but I was pushed past my limit when they quoted me one price and when I asked for documentation (to reflect that I had dropped off the clothing) they increased the price - they called and harassed me over 41 cents. I gave them the 41 additional cents and I told them that I would be posting how I was treated on Yelp and I was told "so what" and to "have a nice day". They will never see another penny from me and I would recommend that they not get a penny from you. read more

This place sucks, I was a customer for 5 years. Their equipment got old and the metal "sweat" started staining all my nice business shirts. Other than they shredded another $100 shirt of mine. I won't bother going into what loser the owner is, but, she claims they "held up the shirt damaged on camera to prove that was the condition in which I brought it in", I said let me see the tape.....oh then the security system magically stopped working, then they claim their lawyer said they couldn't show me the tape; I said "really, you went and reviewed this and incurred a couple hundred in legal fees over a $100 shirt?" You know that look people get when you just caught them red handed in a lie, wide eyes shirting up an left with mouth agape? Yep, that's it.....these people suck And once you do dare, as the customer, ask a question or raise a concern, they start this naggy call you about every article of clothing routine and your stuff shows up late and looking like crap. My suggestion would be taking an old pair of jeans you have and crapping in them all day, may sure your jeans are covered and one steaming pile of pooh, take them in, drop them off right on the counter, then just never pick them up... read more

WORST. CLEANERS. EVER. Seriously, I have NEVER EVER had worse. These people didn't get my clothes clean, did not remove pilling from sweaters, did not do ANYTHING I paid them to do. Also, when I got home my dress had been *RUINED* by them having *washed* it as opposed to dry cleaning. It's now a mini skirt with a liner hanging out of the bottom. Worst customer service!!! I put on what I thought was my suit jacket this morning and realized that it wasn't mine! Sadly, I had my jacket dry cleaned several months earlier and hadn't worn that one since, so apparently the staff cannot do anything to help track mine down. Nor will they give me a refund for the dry cleaning I paid for, nor will they replace my jacket. In fact, the lady at the counter told me it was my fault for not noticing soon enough!! I just picked up 3 pairs of pants and they each have the same spots on them that were there before I dropped them off. If I wanted to wear dirty clothes I could have just kept riding them around in my car, and then put them on again next week. This is unacceptable. They will be seeing me, these clothes, and these spots again on tomorrow. read more

Horrible! My father brought his suit in there this week for for his Son's wedding on Saturday. When my Father went to the cleaners to pick it up on Wednesday....... he realized that the suit pants did not match his suit jacket. They clearly attached someone else's pants to my Dad's suit jacket. They became belligerent and refuse to admit they're wrong doing. They showed a lack of customer service to my Father's concerns. The owner, Lin Nguyen , even went so far to threaten my dad by telling him to have his attorney address his concerns. If you are searching for a cleaning service in the Greater third ward/museum district area avoid evergreen cleaners at all costs!!!! Horrible!
