Today was their first day reopening for outdoor seating, but between the superb service, accommodations, and layout, you wouldn't have been able to tell. The food, even before COVID, was a solid 5/5. I have no pictures to add because the food was in my stomach before the phone left my pocket. In fact ,my date and I barely spoke, we were so busy shovelling food down our gullets. The lamb was beautifully cooked, and the tikka masala sauce was rich and flavorful without being too heavy. The service, though, is the reason I'm writing this review. We've been here countless times under regular circumstances, but today, during their first night of outdoor service, they got hit with unexpected light showers. Despite this, the phenomenal wait staff rescued what would have been an otherwise miserable experience. While one staff immediately went looking for an awning to set up, another staff brought out a deliciously warming lentil soup to our table, on the house. Then, after quickly setting up an umbrella at our table, he immediately switched out all our wet dishware/napkins, and then wiped down our table again; all this within minutes of the first drops of light rain. When we finished, he informed us that he would be comping our beverages for the inconvenience of having to deal with the rain. Thanks to a quick, generous, and attentive staff, even a rainy-day outdoor dining experience was absolutely lovely. read more

I went for lunch with my brother. Food is delicious and is a solid 4 stars. We both had lunch specials, which came with rice, dahl, naan, a small cucumber lettuce salad, and a yogurty dish. Service is friendly and the decor is classy. Parking in the area can be tricky. I dropped a star because it is pricey for what we got. Unless the portions get larger or the price goes down, I probably won't return. read more

Everest Kitchen - 2 lunch specials. My brother finished his in 5 minutes - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Albany, California

Lovely service. Complimentary chai after we ordered full size dishes of goat curry(15 dollars), Chana cauliflower(12.99), and chicken momos(8.99) for lunch. Each entree comes with a rice of your choice. The prices are not cheap but they have the best goat curry and chicken momos in the East Bay. The chicken momos are like soup dumplings full if hot chicken and chive juices and the chicken was delicate and tasty. It was healthy too. The dishes look small but they top each dish off. This is one of two of my favorite restaurants in the East Bay! read more

Everest Kitchen - Chana cauliflower is very dense and vegan with cauliflower and garbanzo beans with tomato and curry sauce. Goes well with any meat dish! - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Albany, California

Spacious interior with plenty of tables, the long tables are great for big parties. Decent amount of parking along this section of Solano Ave. Staff were very friendly and attentive, a very nice dining experience. Goat curry- I got the lunch special goat curry, which came on a cafeteria tray with a side of salad and some dipping sauce.I like the texture of goat, it is firmer and more gamy than lamb. The curry was flavorful and the meat was well marinated too. However, the portion of the meat is way too small. The rice and naan are pretty good, but again, the portion is on the small side. The dipping sauce was good too. Although the lunch special is served on a tray and looks big, the portion is actually not that much. Although the quality of each component is good, it is actually not cheap given the small size. Maybe I will come back for group dinner, and order from the actual menu for better portion sizes. read more

You must go here! So many dishes so full of all types of flavor. I love pikoda as an appetizer. The staff was extremely friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. They have outdoor seating with heating lamps. Great spot for a date night or going out with a group! read more

Incredibly amazing food. I got the Korma, which was a perfect balance between savory and sweet. The chow mein was a pleasant surprise, being well spiced and flavorful. Momos were also great. We ordered takeout and so can't speak for the service or ambiance, but we don't need any convincing to give it a try for dine-in in the near future! read more

Came here again for a family meal and ended up spending around $80 for a fam of 4. We ordered the chicken chowmein, chicken momos, paapad, the vegan/gluten free potato cauliflower curry (aloo cauli) and another vegan/gf curry that tasted just like the aloo cauli. I ate the vegan/gf stuff and would recommend the aloo cauli; however, as a vegan and gf, I have to say that I don't think Everest kitchen is worth the cost. I can get twice the amount of curry at House of Curries up solano, or Cafe Raj up the block. The size of the curry bowls are like small individual soup bowls, so quite small, and the taste is nothing special. Service was good but the food took a while to arrive. Overall, there are lots of gluten free options and a good amount of vegan options. There are also a good amount of vegan/gluten free options, so anyone with dietary restrictions can feel comfortable here. Price is high for the amount of food so be ready if you have a family of big eaters. read more

The food was great and the portion size reasonable for the price. I ordered online and delivery was very quick

Came here for lunch on Sunday, and there was a lunch menu. We enjoyed the food, especially the naan, which was fresh and had a great chewy texture. read more

Best Indian restaurant I've had. Chicken Chowmein is amazing. Pretty much everything I've tried is great!

Super tasty! I ordered chana masala (it's vegan and gluten-free!). I initially called to ask if their vegan food was gluten-free and the man on the food said "yes". He was super polite! He actually called me back to let me know of what items weren't gluten-free on the vegan menu that he forgot to mention. That was going above and beyond. Our food was delicious! My husband really enjoy his food as well. Will definitely order again :) read more

Tried it again, a month later with a big group and tried lots of curries, was okayish.

I hope my leaving this review speaks loudly with my being an infrequent Yelper. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. In a world where a well-balanced, quick, and affordable lunch special is no longer ubiquitous, it would be my duty to say please go here and get theirs! It's a well-balanced, BIG, delicious, high quality, and AFFORDABLE meal. Huge win, so I pray this sends a few people their way. Let's keep this place flush! read more

I don't know why this place wasn't packed. It was delicious, and the service was super friendly. The menu is clearly labeled for anyone who has allergies, and everything I tried was delicious. I highly recommend! read more

Delicious food! Wait staff are kind and no pressure to leave. Family atmosphere with a lot of space so it feels comfortable/private.

Great place for carry out. Staying safe and healthy for COVID. The best thing we ordered was the chicken momo. Flavors were delicious. Don't miss them! The lamb vindaloo was tasty as well. Definitely want to come back and try more things. read more

Wonderful food, great service, pleasant atmosphere. We had lentil soup, salmon with spinach, and a vegetable dish with mushrooms, cauliflower, potatoes, and peas; all were top notch. read more

The food (chicken tikka masala, chicken curry) was good. The service was very good too. we will definitely come back.

Amazing food that you can always count on. We especially like the vindaloo, samosas, and chana masala, but have never had a dish we didn't like. Reliable and fast. read more

This place is aight. It's not the best Indian food in the area but it's certainly authentic and palatable. I have eaten here and ordered delivery and their food is consistent. read more

Great food. Good for vegans and vegetarians. Nice staff. I recommend!

I love vindaloo and though it's not an uncommon dish, it is hard to find a good one. This place makes it best and the pakoras are stellar. A lot of places have watery, watered down gravy but not Everest Kitchen. It's also nicely decorated and clean! (And I, too, was once near Everest. Looked up. And up. And up. And said, "NO F'n way!" Went out for momos.) read more

Did a delivery and ordered jhol momo and chicken chowmein (spicy). I must say jhol momo was boom because it was hot and fresh, I like how the soup was so flavorful and tasty yummmm. I swear I never knew there was a this restaurant with Jhol momo because I am a big fan haha. Chowmein was great too but it more tasted like a Chinese style instead of Nepali style. Whoever in Bay Area looking for a JHOL MOMO definitely check this place, trust me you won't be disappoint because Nepalese food is the best FYI. Can't wait to go for dine in when things gets better and when am back in Bay Area again (: read more

I had the naan, jhol momo, and chicken saag, everything was excellent, look forward to going back.

Very very good! I got all vegan options: $14.27 Chana Masala Lentil Soup Vegan Roti The food was very delicious! I gave them four stars because they're hella far from me Lol For what it was worth compared to what you get . . . Is very fair. Not salty but very flavorful, this is good thing!! The lentil soup was so tasty I got an extra one. It was an eggy tasting soup, well blended & flavorful with the perfect amount of hints of ginger, yes all the way! The vegan roti paired well with the Chickpea Chana Masala but the Roti on its own, was OK. The texture of the Roti was spot on but it was just missing something. The service was excellent, everyone was very polite & well mannered! I will definitely return. read more

Best place to dine in or order food. Absolutely recommend everyone to order chicken tikka, garlic naan and chicken momo. Great food and service! Spice level is spicy while still able to enjoy the flavors. We had appetizers, Goat, and Lamb curry with garlic nann. Tasted like a home cooked meal. Service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely order here again! read more

Meh, I thought it was very basic and bland. I really thought I would like my dish based on it's description but it wasn't well made. There was no flavor, it was just spicy at best. read more

Jhol momo is the best !! Other foods are also good . Great hospitality. Beautiful environment and clean . 100% recommended

Our favorite Indian restaurant in this area, not the cheapest but the food is good and has kept us coming back regularly for years

This is my absolute favorite lunch or dinner spot in the East Bay. My favorite is the Pharsi Channa- it's one of their family's specialties and it is soooooo goooood! They also have the best Chai in the Bay Area. Highly recommended! read more

Ordered here from Uber EATS. Possibly one of the worst Indian food I've ever had (even taking into account that it was delivery). Garlic naan was a bit soggy (but that was expected), and surprisingly still delicious. The issue was with the Chicken Tikka Masala, which essentially had no flavor. I'm almost curious to see if they forgot to add an ingredient because it actually didn't taste like anything except butter. The chicken cutlet was stiff, bordering hard. It also lacked flavor, and at first, I thought it might've even been paneer. It's a shame because I've loved just about every Indian food in the area; my bar for Indian food isn't high since it's one of my favorite cuisines. But this particular meal actually tasted like they didn't properly prepare it. read more

This place has been one of our favorite resteraunts in the Berkeley area for years now. Our absolute favorite place for indian food, even comparable to what we had in the UK. We always get chicken momo, lamb vindaloo, samosas, cheese Naan, honey Naan, and chaia. Anything they make with pumpkin is also fabulous. And the gulab jamun is so yummy. Their food is always so fresh, hot, spicy, full of flavor, and served with kindness. Love love this place. One of the first places I visit when I've been away from home. Very glad they reopened after the Covid shutdown. Thanks for the happy tummies, guys! read more

Momos Momos Momos and Momos These little balls of deliciousness shit on dumplings. I was told by a friend to try these instead to dumplings and I gotta say he changed my world. I have been coming here for almost a month now and I have tried pretty much everything on menu, momos are to die for and another favorite of mine is chilli chicken. I would highly recommend to anyone. read more

Alright! So I need to do another update because......I just ate another awesome dish! Veggie Kofta Masala, paired with garlic naan and rice and this would be a dish to come back for everytime. The veggie balls are soft, flavorful and absolutely matches with the masala sauce. It's a simple dish and simple presentation but packs a wallop and I recommend just hogging it all for yourself and not share hahaha! (we tried medium spicy, but I would recommend spicy) Try it out and I'm sure you'll love it! Veggie Kofta Masala, my new favorite dish, Everest Kitchen never ceases to amaze me and the surprise dishes that jumps at you. read more

Good food but DON'T ORDER DELIVERY. We ordered dinner on Eat 24 at 7:15 this evening - it's now 9PM and there's been no sign of our food. I called and got nothing but excuses like "We're really busy". We could have walked to the restaurant, ordered, eaten, and returned by now. I suggested they take their restaurant off the service if they can't fulfill their orders. UPDATE: our dinner did finally arrive around 9:15, along with a peace offering of a free mango lassie (which, sadly we couldn't eat, due to dietary restrictions). The food was quite good. Today, I received an apologetic call from the restaurant along with a refund. I think we will probably give them another chance but go in-person. read more
