In-fighting: estimator and project manager (Darly and Sonia) not working together, blaming each other and telling the customer it's the other persons fault. The customer having to talk to each, then having to escalate to the owners. The owners not managing their employees (Jim Tax and Christina Tax). Estimating things higher then reasonable: for all estimate and change orders the insurance company not approving the first submission and ultimately the estimate being re-done for a lower price. Double charges in the estimate. Charged for take down of a shower glass, and later charging for the same take down of shower glass in a change order to replace. Trying to maximize their profits and thinking the insurance not noticing which in turn is an extended timeframe for the customer. All change order having to be paid upfront before they do any work regardless on the amount. This is not a Servpro policy, it is this Gilbert franchise policy. I had to pay more than half of the overall project cost before they did one pice of new work besides the demo. The sub contractors took for ever. The tile person worked an average of 5-6 hours a day. They also wanted to collect the final payment prior to the work being done. Stay away

In our case, we had over $500,000 in fire and water damage, and it seemed like everyone else was more concerned about their profit margins than helping us. Some even tried to play games with the insurance company by requesting payment for items that weren't warranted. ASAP Restoration was completely different. They were honest, upfront, and transparent from day one. They took the time to review every budget, selection, and step of the process with us, making sure we understood everything along the way. Before the plumber even arrived, three different restoration companies showed up at my door. The strange part? I never called any of them and nobody told me anyone was coming out. I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. The time Butch was scheduled to be here, we had to unexpectedly leave the house. My husband unlocked the door and told him where the room and stucco damage was. Butch seemed like this was a really big inconvenience. Ok, no big deal. We text him after we got back in town if we have a 12 ft room, if a 12 ft roll would work or be safe and do a 15 ft roll of carpet. He said that would be a question for the person installing our carpet. I thought it was you?? Carpet people were friendly so we had them do the install. I text for when we could schedule the stucco and did not get a timely response. Darin had Butch call, and again, seemed like a huge inconvenience for him. We decided to use another repair company based off our experiences with Butch.

It was a traumatic situation with black mold that had formed but they knew exactly how to fix it. They had to saw into my walls up to four feet off the ground and spray fungicide. I was worried it wouldn't look as good as before but they did an excellent job with the sheetrock and texturizing and painting. You can't tell there was a problem now. They also ripped up all the laminated wood and replaced it with a porcelain tile and it looks gorgeous. I ended up having them redo the bathrooms and they did a fantastic upgrade. They worked in a timely manner and Boston, the project manager, was always available and worked closely with me, even though I was out of town. This company uses good craftsmen from Alex and Skylar to Luis and Julio. I'm convinced Luis could build a whole house. They also worked really well with my insurance company making sure all the paperwork was submitted. I highly recommend them.

Here are the cliff notes: -Referred to salt water restoration by a family friend that has referred a lot of business their way. -Get insurance approval and the work begins. Bathroom is torn apart, toilet removed and drywall is put in. -All monies from the insurance company are released to salt river restoration. I literally handed the person in charge of the job a $5k check. -Company keeps telling me they cannot complete the project because they have not been paid. -I keep sending proof of the payments including proof from the insurance company and my bank statements over and over. (Only monies not paid out are $500 that were to be paid by the insurance company once the work was complete) -Keep being told over and over they cannot find the money. -Talk to representative at the company (this is after two years) and threaten legal action. -Money is all of a sudden found. -Tell them I expect all of my monies returned as I will not be doing business with them as they blatantly lied to me about not having my money and have made myself and my wife feel like liars when they literally were sitting on our money. -Find out the person in charge of the job was fired because of this situation. Did he pocket the money and this is why it wasn't found? -Have continued outreach to the representative that keeps telling me he is taking the issue up to his executive team with no answers. -Threaten legal action again along with letting them know I will be going to the BBB, the insurance company and getting my lawyer involved. And here we are today...Two years without a finished bathroom with an exposed toilet opening. I have been beyond patient with this company and have asked over and over for them to do the right thing and give me back my money as they are holding it hostage. The only work they completed was putting up some drywall. I am fed up and will now start sharing my story everywhere I can.
