This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Together these two Superhero service companies had the water shut off immediately, assessed the situation, outlined the repairs that would be needed. All areas that came in contact with water or moisture were spray treated to prevent any mold, mildew or odor. The attention to detail was very impressive. Rocky Mountain Restoration Crew Chief, Nikolas Matinez & Technician Alfonso carefully cut out the drywall sections so that the entire area could dry and allow access for the water main plumbing to be re-routed. They placed dehumidifying & drying fans in place, bagged all wet damaged debris and vacuumed my garage. It looked cleaner than before they arrived! We also got some new wiring done by their in house electrician and they did an amazing job. Gurr Brothers Construction of Texas arrived the day after our house fire, promising to handle…read moreeverything from mitigation through reconstruction. They partnered with 24 Hour Pros that are anything but. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The property was not secured promptly, leaving it vulnerable to theft. Large appliances were stolen. It took a month to get a fence installed around the perimeter of the property, and debris remained on the property for months, resulting in city citations. Nearly 9 1/2 months later, reconstruction still had not begun. The delays and lack of communication added tremendous stress to an already difficult situation. We expected a company experienced in fire restoration and insurance claims to guide us through this process. Instead, we lost confidence in their ability to deliver and made the decision to move on. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Gurr Brothers Construction.
