Their normal cinema seats are very comfortable but don't mind paying a little bit extra for Vmax with even more plusher seating & has the table for all the tasty goodies :)!! The only problem is it makes it hard on me after a long day when your feeling a bit tired and got suckered into watching a movie but thankfully with the renovations comes with a hot drinks & cookie/cakes cafe conveniently located next to the counter where you buy your tickets :), not to expensive either, more Event Cinemas should have the same setup :)!! Long black keeps me pumped & charged for the entire movie, is good to know it's there when its needed :D!! Also like all big popular Cinemas in Aus the Candy bar is pricey but luckily Coles & Woolies are down stairs & they are both conveniently open till midnight :D!!

Every time you visit a soulless megaplex after your time at Hayden Orpheum it will be a singularly disappointing experience bereft of any aesthetics or cultural value because really, how can anything compare? The cinemas are stunning art deco, they sell old-school choc tops, there's a solid program of the latest blockbusters and art house / doco fare, and they have insanely fun cult classics like a monthly interactive showing of the word movie ever made, The Room. There are love seats in the main cinema, and a freaking organ that rises up out of the floor for matinee performances. I know right! What what all the way. Best.

The Orpheum has kept it's gorgeous original deco interiors and exteriors intact, and the last time I visited (John Cleese triple bill including the Life Of Brian on Easter Sunday- kudos Orpheum!), there was a vintage pianist playing the grand piano in the lobby. I would love to see a silent movie thing here and I would bet money that they do them, it's that kind of place. Check out retro cinema Sundays- awesome and affordable triple bills that people dress up for. Old school wholesome entertainment, I love it.

Would have been nice to also prebook my seat. The cinema needed a vacuum and a clean as it seems they just played back to back movies. The thing that saved the rating was it was almost empty so finding seats wasn't difficult. All in all a reasonable experience. Lost a star due to cleanliness on the night and not being able to prebook my seat after paying a premium.

I didn't have any of those so maybe it was just normal. But hells, it was a good ol' movie experience. Everyone sat in one big chunk in the middle because they followed their ticketed seating allocation, which is fine when the cinema is packed but if it ain't, go sit where you want. You can lead a film geek to water but you can't make them drink, I guess. But yeah, big cinema, clean seats, crisp sound, and Guardians of the galaxy. Go see it, of only for Groot. That makes no sense now but it will, I promise it will.

Even though we had just travelled about 24 hours, we decided a movie would be a nice way to kill said time. I thought it would be a nice nap time but the movie was interesting and none of us slept. This theater is odd but interesting. You buy tickets at the concession stand. I wish I had tried the popcorn but I assumed I might not be awake so eating was out. The theaters are spread around the floor in different pockets of the area, so it's more like walking to a different shop. Even though it was a matinee, we were told it was mostly sold out and that we'd have to sit in the second row. This worried me but the person selling the tickets said it's where they prefer to sit and, again, I assumed I'd sleep so we agreed. We sat in theater 11 and lone behold, it wasn't going to be a problem because the screen is far away and there's a good amount of space between the front row and the screen. The other unique thing about this room was there was a large window. I've never seen this in a movie theater before and it was cool. Don't worry, the drapes, once closed, were nice and thick and let no light in. The seats were comfy and did manually recline. I only like to recline if there's a leg rest though so I didn't do that.

But the chairs were clean and comfy. I am not sure if I would want to pay full price for such movie experience...but their "award winning olive oil" popcorn is delish :)

Honestly rarely came here before the big renovations, but since then its one of my ultimate go to's :) Cinemas are always super clean and confortable, staff have been friendly & helpful. Food is always super pricey but now and then is fun to throw a bit of coin on some warm popcorn and a few treats haha Can always park in the Westfield carpark but i normally prefer parking across the road at a few 1 hour or 2 hour spots and its a convenient quick walk over :D Have had plenty good times here and plenty more to come :D!!
