Conveniently located atop McDonald's in Cronulla's outdoor shopping complex, Cronulla Cinema's is…read morethe perfect place to bring the family after a hot summer's day at the beach. The small complex is great if you want to avoid the big, noisy crowds at your local Events or Hoyts. However, the usual queue on a Friday night will be sure to be there, so make sure you get in quick. Like mega cinema chains, Cronulla Cinemas offers the best movie experience; a great variety of the newest upcoming flicks to choose from, and an even greater variety of snacks and bites to get your stomach through to the end. But there is one exception that makes Cronulla Cinema different from the rest, and that's the prices. And for all those 'ezi video' lovers out there who avoid cinema's and their outrageous ticket pricing, stress no more. Their weekly Tuesday special (excluding 3D movies) are $10 movie prices for everyone. For a major plus, to all the mums that are dreading that painful "Can we go in yet?" the arcade games will be sure to keep the kids busy before the movie begins. And that isn't just for the little kids either, some 'old school' Mario Kart is sure to keep us bigger kids satisfied also. So whether you'll be cheering for Jacob or Edward at the latest Twilight showing (highly doubtful), or reliving your life as a spy through crazy, actions flicks, be sure to check out Cronulla Cinemas as your next movie destination.

Going to the cinema is so expensive these days and many of my local cinemas are just refusing to upgrade/revamp/clean- whatever you want to call it- and it is becoming one big giant rip-off! Cronulla cinemas has a wonderful art deco type foyer and is a notch above other cinemas, but it really has gone downhill.

The cinema that ruins every other cinema experience for ever more…read more Quite simply the finest, classiest, most demure, seductive, charming and good old-fashioned fun cinema experience in Sydney and quite possibly the universe. Every time you visit a soulless megaplex after your time at Hayden Orpheum it will be a singularly disappointing experience bereft of any aesthetics or cultural value because really, how can anything compare? The cinemas are stunning art deco, they sell old-school choc tops, there's a solid program of the latest blockbusters and art house / doco fare, and they have insanely fun cult classics like a monthly interactive showing of the word movie ever made, The Room. There are love seats in the main cinema, and a freaking organ that rises up out of the floor for matinee performances. I know right! What what all the way. Best.

Being an eastern suburbs dweller, I've only been to the Orpheum on a couple of occassions. Each…read moretime I've sworn to journey over there more often (it's not even that far FFS). The Orpheum has kept it's gorgeous original deco interiors and exteriors intact, and the last time I visited (John Cleese triple bill including the Life Of Brian on Easter Sunday- kudos Orpheum!), there was a vintage pianist playing the grand piano in the lobby. I would love to see a silent movie thing here and I would bet money that they do them, it's that kind of place. Check out retro cinema Sundays- awesome and affordable triple bills that people dress up for. Old school wholesome entertainment, I love it.
