Had my first experience at the new Miranda Events Gold Class. Not all that impressed I have to say. I took an elderly friend with a walking frame. On the afternoon at 4pm the lift to the Gold Class lounge was not working. I had to carry the walking frame up/down the stairs and support the older lady climb up and down without assistance being offered by the staff, who confirmed the lift was not working. It was a 3D movie and when it started there were no 3D glasses at our seats. I had to go out and ask for some as did half the other patrons. The seats were not as comfortable as other Gold Class cinemas I have patronised. It was difficult to see/use the chair control on the inner side of the seat. No one actually confirmed where the button was located, I just searched around until I saw it, with difficulty, in the darkened cinema. There was no dedicated disabled parking near the ramp that leads up to the Cinema. The ramp itself was quite long making access for those able to walk only short distances poor. I ordered a drink going in and it was handed to me over the counter. I was left to carry it into the cinema while assisting my friend with her walking frame. Table service would have been appreciated. We were well assisted to change our seats when I realised that there were stairs down to our seats in the front row. So access was good to the back row. The cost at $33 with no pension/seniors concession was too high for what we experienced. Plus the internet fee for booking on line was extra, as were the 3D glasses!!!! At times I would say that internet booking would not save any time because I noticed that the 6pm session had a long line of internet customers trying to get their tickets.
WE just made it for free parking. The movie, a quick meal and getting in and out took 3hours 54 minutes.
Not value for money at all. Probably won't go there anymore. It used to be my Cinema of choice. I mostly go to Cronulla cinema now. read more
