I've been thinking about macaroons since I had them at Euro Pane a few days ago. We tried hazelnut, pistachio and expresso flavors. They were heavenly!!!! Soft, chewy and just sweet enough. We can't wait to try the other flavors. Needless to say, I had to taste the famous egg salad sandwich, something I ordinarily would not order, but boy was it delicious. The egg was perfectly gooey, but it was messy to eat. My husband enjoyed a chicken sandwich. Definitely 5 stars for the macaroons. The reason I gave 4 stars overall is that the portion (in relation to sandwiches) was on the smaller side, and it was not cheap. The bill for 2 sandwiches, 2 lemonades, 3 macaroons and a chocolate brioche (which was tasty) was over $30. Friendly service could be faster, but the food is of high quality. This new location is nicer and bigger than the other one. read more

The OG Europane is great, classic, nostalgic, etc. but the area is dingy, parking sparse, and finding seating anywhere there is a chore. Due to the tight spaces, you're always a couple baby strollers away from shutting down the place. Enter the sister joint across from Paseo. They've tightened up their act in the few months they've been open. I've never found the place to be quite full, which is good IMO, and the fare there is exactly how I remember it from the original locale. I've found the service to be quite friendly as well. Throw in the fact that I can actually walk there from my pad and well... I'm a big fan. read more

Came here this weekend for lunch and it was okay and the macroons were yummy and flavorful. I had the chicken salad sandwich was just okay..nothing very memorable. I wish the meal came with a small salad or something. It was just the sandwich on my plate. The salted Carmel and passion fruit macroons were yummy tho. Great flavor and a good size. The service need some improvement - a service with a smile doesn't hurt...=) read more

Modern lines made this an appealing setting. The wide variety of baked goods is impressive--and everything looks top notch. Location is perfect if you're going to do some shopping across the street (there is a mall of some sort) and you get there before 10AM. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict was really outstanding (sub a home made jumbo English muffin for the wheat cranberry toast). The portion was fine, perhaps just a little light on the salmon and sauce. The overall effect was yummy and satisfying. Only ding was the overall cost, somehow it was twenty bucks for my dish and a cappuccino. Would go back again if in the area. read more

I had two meals here: the quiche and the frittata. The coffee was decent but not amazing. The quiche was delicious but not served warm. But it did have a side salad so I felt $8.50 was reasonable and worth it for that. The frittata was okay. I requested salad instead of a roll and they did that, which is awesome. My friends got the beet salad and it looked amazing (and they said it was). There are a bunch of outdoor tables and an awesome looking wood communal table inside (plus some extra little tables). It's great to see a healthy option in this area if you are at the Pasadena Shopping Complex and don't feel like eating a fried taco. They also have an amazing spread of pastries I tried hard to resist. That being said, the pistachio tart I tried was not too sweet in the best way. I will definitely go back when I am in the hood! read more

Came here for lunch about a week ago - nice little lunch spot with yummy sandwich and drink choices. I had the Smoked Salmon sandwich and it was really good. The Berry Arnold Palmer was good as well. I didn't try the macaroons but they were huge. The service was pretty nice. The place is clean and have plenty of seats outside and inside. Overall it was a very nice place to have lunch or sweets. read more

Stopped by thinking I would get a Europane croissant and boy was I mistaken. Stale and not even baked there, but still pricey. I was so shocked, I looked them up and saw they had new owners, but didn't change the name??? Why on earth would you tarnish your brand that way? read more

This review is based solely on their macarons. Bigger doesn't always mean better. The macarons here are a bit larger than usual, but that's all they have on their competition. The cream fillings were way too watery and after one bit, it all oozed out from the sides. They did have a nice crunch to them though. Overall, just a whatever macaron. Recommendation: Pistachio Macaron read more

Their bread! They're always so fresh and delicious. I had the chicken almond on olive bread. Veryyy good. Next time I'll try their famous egg salad. Hefty portions so I usually pack the rest of my food to-go. I also had the berry almond tarte. Everyone needs to try this! Not too sweet. SO SO GOOD. Service is nice and quick. Some more knowledgeable than othere about the pastries they serve, but overall, no complaints here. read more

Europane - Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon... Yummy! - Bakeries Near Me - Pasadena, California

Good food and decent coffee, a little pricey for what I got. Got a black coffee and a bacon and cheese wrap. The wrap had a good flavor with a healthy account of bacon, I didn't find myself hoping for any condiments with the wrap. The coffee was well brewed, not at all burnt tasting but still fresh. My wrap was $8 which is a little steep for half a tortilla's worth of wrap. read more

I came here with a friend and we each got the Arnold Palmer with berry tea and then shared a brownie. We sat outside and really enjoyed ourselves. They have a variety of baked goods that look really good too! Located in a really cute area of Pasadena. I came here for lunch last week and it will definitely be my new "feel good" spot! I suggested Pain Au Quotidien and a friend insisted this would be better (bigger portions for the price for one thing). Plus, I adore egg salad sandwiches and half a dozen locals have pointed me here for that reason. Huge open windows poour a glorious, cheerful bounty of natural light into the space. The friendship table option was a nice touch but also smaller tables as well. The line was pretty long but they had a good system for expediting. The star was the egg salad sandwich I came for--open face was a great touch to showcase the lemon-yellow eggs which weren't drowned in mayo or boiled into gray decrepitude. Instead there were literally large chunks of recognizable egg which just made it feel that much closer to its uncooked origins. And in the end, the macaroon was my unexpected 'cherry on top'. It was refreshing to have one where the creamy filling was still creamy and not dried and candied. It was so light and delectable. I will go back and try each and every flavor! read more

If it's famous, get it. That's all I have to say. Four words to remember when you're ordering from Euro Pane, Famous Egg Salad Sandwich. It has the world "famous" in there so get it. I opted to the olive toast with my sandwich and it was delicious. The egg salad was creamy with a perfect amount of mustard taste. Through some hot sauce on there and you're good to go! The portion is pretty big. I saved half and ate it the next day and it was just as good! Get there before the lunch rush because the line gets pretty long. Warning: Try to avoid looking at their bakery if you're on a diet. Haha. I ended up getting a lemon bar, then ordered a pistachio tart after I paid because it looked so good! Fail... read more

Sure, everyone has English muffins and carrot muffins, but this place has what I will forever call the "King of England" English muffins, and the best carrot muffin I have had to date. While I would prefer that the carrot muffin had a lemon cream cheese frosting, it might have been overkill - it was that good! The English muffin made me wonder why I ever thought Thomas' were so good? Now, returning for the brioche blueberry french toast... It looked amazing, and their fresh vanilla whipped cream and fresh blueberry compote delivered. The brioche bread probably wasn't eggy as I'd like, being more like lightly fried bread. I'd prefer a warmed compote too. Why serve hot bread with cold compote? read more

Since this place is walking distance from my place, I go here too often for my own good. I can always count on their strong almond milk latte to get me through the day. They are the most famous for their "world famous egg salad" served on a toasted slice of bread. Although I don't think it's the best egg salad I've ever had, I do appreciate that they use minimal mayonnaise so the pieces of hard boiled egg whites are still distinct. Their whipped yolks are generously salted and plenty, and it all rests on a bed of greens, a delightful smear of tomato spread, and their perfectly toasted toast of your choice (my choice of toast is always the DELICIOUS olive toast). I do crave it from time to time, and you cannot get egg salad like this anywhere else in the vicinity. The rest of their extensive breakfast offerings taste just as you would expect. You can't really go wrong with anything here - they got croque monsieur, frittata, quiche, sandwiches (breakfast or lunch), and salads. There's a myriad of baked goods for those with a sweet tooth. There are plenty of street parking in the small streets intersecting Colorado, or you can park at Paseo across the street. For your friends who enjoy the concept of communal tables, sunshine, and baked goods, Europane is a good place to meet for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and will have something for everyone. read more

I tried to support local businesses during the Pandemic including this business. This business was opened then closed for stretches of time during the Pandemic. I absolutely love Europane! I first went to the location on Lake a few years ago to try their famous egg salad sandwich. The eggs were fluffy and good. It was delicious!! My next visit, I ordered the smoked salmon on multigrain flatbread and that became my favorite item off the menu board. I always try to change up my orders, but end up going with the smoked salmon. It's that good! They give a generous amount of smoked salmon on top of mixed greens and top it off with red onions, chives, and light dressing. I'm not too sure what dressing they use, but it's the perfect combo! Their macarons are also delicious! My favorites are their salted caramel and pistachio macarons. There were a couple of times where they only had the fruity flavored macarons and the other location had everything else. So if you wanted to go there for a particular macaron, call beforehand! I'm docking a star off because I did encounter a couple of unfriendly people at the register. read more

Like to come to this place but the problem is is they make such small quantities of everything when I come in early enough to grab breakfast they've already run out of key things like the feta egg wraps and other various pastries. They also recently stopped making their special apple and pear tarts which we would come in every day and are making these lesser quality ones I want to have a reliable breakfast coffee place to come to to get delicious food it's just no fun every time we go there now and they're out of the things you're looking for read more

They have changed, and it has become really not good! The croissants seemed to be several weeks old . I really don't recommend!

I really want to like this place, but this might be best for people who don't expect much from breakfast food. French Toast w/Berry Compote - I prefer my homemade challah french toast to this. If I feel I can do better in my own kitchen, don't see the point in eating out. French toast was dry and compote doesn't remedy that. Passionfruit Macaron - Appreciate the large size, but it tasted like they added salt to achieve the tangy/tart passionfruit flavor. Bacon Breakfast Wrap - Mostly tasteless except for the few bits of bacon and the side of salsa. Once you've gotten through the bacon, the rest of the wrap and egg just taste like continental breakfast buffet at a low-budget hotel (which is the worst breakfast food to me). English Muffins - BEST english muffin I've ever had. This is the only saving grace of this place and only reason I would ever go back. Perfect sourdough flavor and so thick. Goes well toasted with some butter and jam. read more

I used to love getting their croissants, muffins, and scones but since they have changed ownership their items have not been the same. I noticed the difference in the taste and flakiness of the croissants ~ definitely not the same flavor/flakiness as pre-pandemic. The website link that's listed here takes you to the OLD website with the OLD menu - which brings me to my 3 Star rating: I went to get a croissant to have with my soup for lunch but they were sold out so I purchased an individually wrapped ciabatta roll. I asked the gal who was helping me if they were going to update their website. Her response was "For what" (not a question, but a statement) and she gave me an annoyed look. I looked at her and said, "Because you don't even have the beet salad on the menu anymore". Really?!?! The menu on the website has all the items pre-pandemic and the old prices. Whoever these new owners are, please update your website with the new menu and prices...and your employee could be a little more polite when asked a question by your customers. read more

Very warm and friendly staff. Great selection of pastries, from savory to sweet. The breakfast sandwich is huge, which can easily feed two people (or someone who's super hungry). My son's chocolate chip scone was more like a cookie, in texture, which he loved. I prefer the softer, dense dough for scones. The drip coffee was better than expected, given that I'm partial to cold crew, it was a pleasant surprise. I love places with a large communal table. We were lucky to share the table with a local running group who were probably still on runner's high. lol Overall, great food and ambiance for a leisure weekend morning. read more

This place used to be one of my favs, but the changes by new ownership/management have brought things way downhill. The pastries that aren't the recipes of the former owner are noticeably lower quality (bright red-dyed danishes?!) and there are a bunch of silly, unnecessary drinks. The final straw is that they no longer serve food after 3pm, a whole hour and a half before they close. This is ridiculous for a...cafe! Please note that I am posting this at 3:12pm and tried to order a sandwich at 3:02pm and was denied. As I waited for my iced tea, the poor cashier had to tell literally every person who walked in about this new policy as the owner (?) stood and watched. Sad to see a great place in Pasadena become so sub par. read more

The new owner has decided to stop making the gruyere cheese puff. Big mistake. Every thing that he's decided to take away from the original Europane has brought this famous bakery down and has made it common and generic. There were problems with the original one but you could never fault the bakery for its elegant recipes and choice of baked goods. The gruyere cheese puff was one of the bakery's classics. You can't find this pastry anywhere else and it's simple, sophisticated and delicious. RIP Europane. read more

Their pastries are AMAZING, just the shear size of them will surprise you. My favorite is the cheese danish very fresh, light, and flakey; just the way I love it! I have tried their sandwiches too, very large, I was only able to eat half. You definitely get your money's worth! read more

Really enjoy the huge English muffins. We always stop here when in Pasadena. We found them for the bread pudding and we keep coming back for the bread pudding and the English muffins. Just came in today with another 2 people to try this place out and was not happy with what we experienced. We ordered 2 eggs Benedict and a were deciding between croque madame($10.25) and croque Monsieur($13.50). We had chosen the croque madam because it was 3.25 cheaper than the Monsieur. When we had ordered it turns out that we were charged 13.50 for the madame and when we asked why we got charged that price, one of the workers said that they switched the prices of those 2 items when they were making the menu and she went and continued doing what she was doing like it was no big deal. This menu needs to be updated because it confused us and how they handled it, was like we were in the wrong for not knowing their updated prices on their outdated menus... first and last time here read more
