Great chicken, fries, and slaw. Seating area is small and kind of funky, but it just adds to the vibe. Different levels of spice are nicely described, and accurate on the menu board.

I hadn't had Eugene's in a really long time. That being said, I was happy to see their food truck posted up outside the Alys Stephens Center on 10/15. I ordered my usual hot Jumbo tenders with fries. My food was fresh and didn't take long. Although the fries kind of needed a little salt. I requested bbq sauce and they were out. They gave me 4 ranch dipping sauces.... Yeah, a bit excessive for sure! Oh and they left off the pickles! Service was kind of all over the place. Not sure what was going on here but no biggie. This will always be one of my fav food trucks. Yum!!!

Rushed over before noon to beat the rush and thankful I did as they were hit and it was a madhouse by 12. I loved it. I couldn't hear it was so loins in there and as it turns out neither could the waitress as my order was all wrong. They were sweet and as quickly as possible was served my chicken wings with collard greens. The place was nice and inviting for either a quick pick-up order or to sit inside or out. I chose outside and it was nice, not too noisy although busy roads close by.

I ordered the 6 wing meal and added an extra side. I paid the extra $1 to have all flats which I'm glad they had this as an option. The chicken: I ordered mild and it was seasoned and fried perfectly. They make their own in house dressings for you to dip the wings in and I had the blue cheese. The coating on the chicken is crisp and the meat was juicy. The Collard Greens: seasoned just right with a little kick of hotness. I wish there weren't as many stems in them, but I could look past that because of the flavor. The sautéed corn: HOLY HOLY this was the best part of my meal. You can tell that the corn was cut fresh off of the cob. It was sweet, buttery, seasoned and sautéed to perfection. I only wished they had this in a large portion, or that I would've ordered 2 servings of it. I highly suggest this as your side if you love corn. Small spot for dine in, so don't bring a large party in to sit down. The staff was very friendly and greets you with a smile. Definitely will be eating here again when I return to Birmingham

Quarter Dark Bird w/ Fried Okra and Mac

The pick up process at this buzzy spot that serves Nashville-style hot chicken was super smooth. We literally parked, walked over, grabbed our labeled food pack, and were back in our car within a minute. While I've been told that some of the entrees come glossy and sauced, my Quarter Dark fried bird was equipped with a dry spice rub. It was super tasty, with juicy, soft meat inside a thin battered crust. I got the second spiciest option, but it was more lip-numbing than actually fiery -- if you have a respectable spice tolerance, you can easily go for the highest setting. The flavor of the chicken was pleasantly sweet, with lots of brown sugar to go with the pepper and chili. The white bread underneath absorbs some of that lovely spicy oil and seasoning. Only downsides were that the crust was a tad bit soggy and didn't stay adhered to the chicken, though this may have been our fault for letting it sit for about 15 mins before eating. The fried okra was decent, but we weren't a huge fan of the fries. The Mac n cheese was slightly sweet, but I enjoyed the savory, creamy side. Eugene's gets a thumbs up from this out-of-towner. Next time, I plan to get the spiciest sauce and also probably do the half bird since I found myself craving more when I had finished.

The food truck came to my apartment complex and the service was legit awesome. I ordered just about one of everything from their menu and everyone in our family was satisfied. The Alabama White BBQ Sauce is scrumptious. Super delicious food. Get you some!

Excellent fried chicken. Takes a few minutes but worth the wait. We stopped in during a big sports event and the staff never blinked.

The food is great. The place is a greasy mess. My shoes were slipping on the floor and everything seems coated in grease.

Would a party of 5 and a highchair be too tight for indoor seating?

Where is this place? I drove around in circles looking and couldn't find it.

It gives a great vibe for either a work dinner, a date night, owl or dinner with friends! It's fun and swanky but not over the top. They have a really attractive bar and they have a pizza kitchen that is open, which is always a cool touch. I try to handful of appetizers and I've got to recommend both the jerk cauliflower as well as the brussels sprouts and the Caesar salad was delicious as well. Also, the blistered Hungarian peppers are a must order if you'd like sausage! The meal that I had both times because it was that good was the spicy lamb rigatoni. I might just go back next week and get it again. I like that they have a wide variety of options whether you're looking for a gluten-free meal or something carb heavy like pizza or pasta, but they also have options to fit a variety of budgets from a casual dinner and a burger to more expensive entrées. The servers are very kind and are definitely educated in their wine and food offerings and very hospitable. Since this is located on Morris, a lot of people think parking is difficult down there, but apparently there is a parking lot in the back where you're able to get your ticket validated. I know some of my friends wish they would have known this before. I'll definitely be back and recommend this spot to others wanting a good meal!

The service is *excellent* with a capital "E." We ate at the bar, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the restaurant. They have tried everything on the menu themselves. They can describe any one of the imported liquors up on the wall. These are real deal professionals who illustrate just how important the people in a restaurant's front truly are. The food? Delicious. It's a wild grab bag of East Asian fare - Chinese, Japanese, Thai - and it's all done extremely well. The portions are small, which is good, since you'll want to try half a dozen things on Current's very deliberately thought-out menu. The Peking Duck is some of the best I've had. The cocktails are also excellent, with my favorite being a delicious, earthy combination of coconut, lime, and pandan. It's like an extremely upscale tiki drink. I cannot recommend this place enough. The hot chicken sandwich itself wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, but it was finger-licking good -- juicy, well-seasoned, and satisfying down to the last crumb. We truly enjoyed every bite. But we'd spent the day at McWane Center and we were starving so we were there to EAT! The food looked gorgeous but it tasted very meh. The onion rings had too much breading on them, which I didn't think was possible, but here we are. The part of the breading next to the onion was mushy so that threw off the texture of the whole thing too. The burger was very much like a Whataburger. Even the lettuce smelled the same. I got The Standard and the bun of the burger was a little mushy (similar to Whataburger) and there was not much meat. For an $11 burger, I'm expecting more than a Whataburger. My middle kid likes everything on her burger and isn't picky at all and the loaded kid burger looked impressive but it was about the same as mine. Not awful, but not very good either.
