This was my first time having the frozen rooster food truck. I visited their restaurant in Leeds Al a number of years ago. I really wanted some fried fish and they delivered!! HORRIBLE!! The fish tasted old and freezer burned, when I returned to the register to let someone know the cashier was extremely rude. The cook asked what was wrong (whether or not it was cooked hard enough) I told him no but it tasted like it was either old, had cone from an open bag in the freezer like it was freezer burned. This is our first time here, but the people who work here are super nice and helpful in helping me decide what to order. The place is clean and has a huge variety to choose from. I made my own sampler by ordering a 5pc shrimp and 1 catfish. The lady recommended the cajun ranch fries. Oh man you definitely gotta try that. The catfish was light and flaky. The shrimp was fire you don't need any additional dipping sauces for any of the items. I also ordered 6 piece wings with sticky sauce. Everything was so fresh, tasty, and flavorful. We've come by here a few times now, our first visit sparked by our fellow Yelper's reviews. If you know me, you know I love me some wings, so I had to give them a try. First off, their prices are pretty good. Their fries are just nacho cheese on them, and I wish the cajun seasoning was stronger to really give them more of a kick. Their wings are decent and scratch that itch for wings. The lemon pepper and the garlic parmesan wings have been my favorite of their flavors. We've also had their BBQ ones, but it was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, it's a decent wing joint, but nothing amazing. I'm sure we'll be back though the next time I get some wing cravings. read more

I would recommend this place and will be back soon ! have been to this location several times. sometimes the restaurant has a wait but they cook everything to order. SO I DONT MIND WAITING FOR FRESH HOT FOOD !!!It's Quality over Quantity!!! The staff was friendly some young adults were working they were respectful and polite which you don't find to often in many restaurants they were also helpful and explained some of the items on the menu to me. Been following Frozen Rooster on social media for a while and how the food is presented on there Instagram page made me wanna try some wings. But, like everything else, looks can be deceiving. I ended up getting a 10 piece bone in wings combo and I wanted half and half on the wings as far as flavor which included hot and garlic Parmesan. After the fact of getting home and opening up my container, my excitement for the food was disappointing. The Cajun ranch fries I'd received were less than I would get at any other wings restaurants across town. The wings were ok, but not nothing to keep going back for. My peach lemonade was definitely too sweet for my liking and I had to add water just to balance my drink out. In there favor, they have some delicious cookies. read more

We were in Leeds unexpectedly today so we stopped at the outlet mall to walk around. While there, my husband mentioned that he wanted to try this place. It's located inside the food court. They have a decent menu. We all decided to try bone in chicken wings and fries. It took almost twenty minutes for our food to be ready. This wasn't really an issue because I prefer fresh, hot food. I had to go back to ask for an extra plate and condiments. The employees were nice and gave me what I requested. The good was good. It reminded me of most wing joints. I liked that the chicken was crispy. If I had realized they had fish, I would have ordered that. I would eat here again. read more

I had my mouth set to eat Frozen Roosters! My family came today to Frozen Roosters in Leeds to order our dinner. We wanted a 30 piece but because they do not sell a 30 piece we ended up getting a 20 piece boneless combo and a 10 piece combo. For the 20 piece we ordered 10 of them lemon pepper and 10 medium and the 10 piece was mild lemon pepper. Once our number was called we went up to get the food in which they usually show you the food before putting it in the bag but this time they didn't. This could just be a coincidence and the girl may have not tried to conceal it but my fiancé asked to see the food and noticed the 20 piece ended up being 10 lemon pepper and 10 mild or medium lemon pepper. We say that this is not what we ordered. The girl who took our order says they could remake the 10 wings to medium. She then proceeds to tell the "cook" to remake 10 more wings. The "cook" then comes out and tries to justify the 10 wrong wings by saying that it was just a couple of specks from when they sprinkled the lemon pepper on the other wings. This is clearly not the case since every wing, including the ones at the bottom, are covered with lemon pepper. He then says they are closed (it was 5:57 at this point AND they are still cooking food for the people that ordered food after us and are calling their numbers while all of this is happening) and they aren't making anymore wings. When my fiancé says that the lady already said they could replace the wings, he immediately says they will just give us a refund and takes our food without even asking if we wanted a refund. My fiancé then says well if you are giving a refund he wanted cash because it was Frozen Roosters mistake and didn't want to justify it by making 10 more wings and he did not want to wait 5 business days to get his money back. The "cook" says he can't do that because that's not how we paid. They begin arguing in which my fiancé says he wants to speak to the manager. "The cook" then says he is the manager and is talking out the side of his neck. My fiancé then says he will just speak with the owner in which he starts to make phone calls. "The cook/manager" then says "Oo you know Mimi" and then acts like he is calling the owner but never talks to anyone. While my fiancé is on the phone, the "cook/manager" goes to the back but is still talking loud enough to the other cook where I can hear him and is still saying he fixed the food right. I tell him that he did not and his customer service needs improvement. I also tell him that he will not get far in life with that type of attitude and customer service. At this point the security guard and local police officers are standing around in case something goes down. My fiancé then says to just put the money on the card. After my fiancé has said just put the money the card 3 times, the "cook/manager" continues to chastise my fiancé by repeating what he says "put the money on your card". I then say put the money back on the card so we can go about our day. The cook/manager then ask for the recipe in which we say we don't have it because he took it when he took the food back. He then ask how much we paid in which we say $50 something. He tries to argue about that in which he said we only paid $40 something in which my fiancé said he left a tip and needs the full amount back. He eventually refunded the money back and we leave. On the receipt it says that the "cook/manager's" name was Marzell. I don't know for sure if that was the person who we dealt with or if it was who was assigned to the draw but I will not be returning back to Frozen Rooster as long as Marzell/cook/manager is there. Maya Angelou said "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I take this quote with me everywhere I go. This was a terrible experience not just for us as adults but our kids as well who were left hungry and wondering what we were going to eat after they were excited to eat Frozen Roosters as well. They are taught if you make a mistake, you do what you can to fix it. Mistakes are okay and you work to do better and make it right. Marzell/cook/manager needs to take some customer service trainings on how to speak with people and do business. All of this could have been avoided and the amount of time we were there from when they called our number to the time we got the refund, he could have cooked a 10 piece at least twice. We ended up going across town to a different wing place, spent less, and the customer service was GREAT. I hope you guys can improve or your business will decline if it already hasn't. read more

This was my first time visiting this location and I have been wanting to come for so long after seeing the presentation of the food. I was disappointed the wings tasted old and hard most of my chicken was to hard to eat or enjoy. I really hate this because I was so excited about coming here. I was extremely pleased with the flavorful tastes and spices. The jamaican jerk sauce was delicious. I also tried the hot lemon pepper catfish and it was amazing. The spices blended together perfectly and were more than i was expecting. My only negative is that i paid an additional 99 cents for extra cajun ranch fries and it looked as though i got a regular portion. Not sure what a regular portion looks like since it was my first visit but it wasn't a lot. read more

In all fairness, I'm not sure if Grub Hub is at fault or Frozen Rooster, but what I do know is that I ordered at 11am and at 12:38 I'm out almost $20 and still have no food. I received notification that there was a delay at about 11:30, but the notification stated the food would be delivered between 12:20 and 12:30. The reason I give 3 stars and not 0 is because I don't know who is at fault. This is all before I even TASTE their food. I'm expecting cold fries and a lukewarm sprite with melted ice, but maybe I'm so hungry I'm just pessimistic. I will update. read more

The wings here are fantastic - specifically the hot lemon pepper wings. However, the location is in a good court and they only get two stars because the cashier (Cindy/Cynthia?) was EXTREMELY RUDE and unhelpful. It also took 25+ minutes for wings and fries. Ready for the worst part? We ordered blue cheese, found out it was their house ranch after opening and dipping a fry in it. The rude little girl up front ASKED FOR IT BACK and put it back USED! This is my second time visiting Frozen Rooster and, like my first time, the food was delicious. I ordered the 6 pc wings in fiery with Cajun ranch fries and it was amazing. The wait for the food was not long at all. It is located in a food court, so there are designated lines roped off for each individual eatery as well as social distance requirements for lines and the seating area. The food is served in Styrofoam to go plates inside plastic bags which isn't the best for the environment but is an easy way for these types of restaurants to serve food. The overall area was very clean as there was always people making sure things were clean and sanitized. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and do plan on going back. read more
