You know when you come to a store like this, it's gonna be Work…read more There's gonna be a bunch of stuff everywhere and you're gonna have to sort your way through to figure out all the mess. But isn't that the fun part? HomeSense has become the stop we make before going to the movies. It's where my friend and I can catch up while we shop for pointless things that we don't need for our home, but we help each other rationalize it anyway before we have to sit in silence and pay attention. This is what a mom's night out is and we love it. This visit did not disappoint, as my friend picked up outdoor pillows for her house and I got us movie snacks. You could get lost in the store. I almost walked away with a $30 Kate Spade toaster, but knew it probably would've ended in divorce because who has a space for that. Either way I look forward to these trips, not only to catch up with my friend who I don't get to see very often, but I usually find something for a great value here. Don't sleep on the store. You're sure to find some buried treasure.

Wanted to give a huge shout out to Madison's Niche in Stony Brook town by the harbor. They are…read morelocated where Flair used to be (I loved that shop too!) I went in this morning with both of my littles under 2 and was in sweatpants (nothing new) feeling like I just wanted to spend my gift certificate on jewelry to avoid trying things on and get out as fast as I could. I lost my baby weight very quickly but entirely unrealistically for my schedule and it has almost entirely creeped back on me. I am taking my time losing and getting healthy once and for all but I am in no way at a place where I am comfortable with my body. The sad truth is I can't keep wearing gym clothes. Totally fine for errands and around the house but passing my favorite high waisted leggings off for black skinnies when I go out with my husband is getting old fast and SUPER sweaty now that the weather is warming up. It's a catch 22 though because I don't plan on being this size forever so I have been refusing to purchase clothes... well I realized that I need wardrobe staples that will motivate me to lose weight by feeling good. Madison's Niche had exactly what I needed to get to my goal. I spent a fair amount (but didn't break the bank) and bought a well rounded mini wardrobe that I can interchange and feel comfortable and confident in. Gym clothes are great but sometimes a girl needs to feel like she got dressed and showed up for the day. I highly recommend stopping in. Parking was a breeze, the women inside were warm, friendly, and honest. They were not pushy AT ALL and I am really excited to wear one of my new outfits tonight for our Thursday date night.

Welcome to the neighborhood Ollie's Bargain Outlet. Named after co-founder Ollie's Rosenberg. It is…read morevery important for me and my immediate family to support local businesses. Ollie's Bargain Outlet is an American chain of discount closeout retailers. They sell a variety of overstocked and unsold items. Their merchandise includes seasonal products, pet supplies, apparel, games and toys for all ages, household goods, beach supplies, candy, cookies, dry goods, books etc. The Ollie's Cares Foundation supports feeding America, Children's Miracle, Toys for Tots and several other generous charities. Ollie's raises more than 2 million a year for trustworthy charities. So much to be proud about! I originally walked in with the intentions of purchasing a Ollie's gift card, butter cookies and the $5 advertised Children games. I did purchase the gift card but unfortunately the butter cookies were out of stock and the floor team could not locate the $5 games. I was disappointed but I will complement the very pleasant and relentless staff in trying to help find these nonexistent games. Lol. Another plus is cashier Taylor, she was so sweet and courteous. An asset to your business! And plenty of parking in a well lit lot. Best wishes Ollie's! I'm sure I'll visit you again.

For those who think, as I originally did, you'd get a hoity-toity designer who would look down their nose at your choices and/or current design style, nothing could be further from the truth. Carmela presented herself as very down-to-earth, fun and full of ideas. She assuaged my fears about one color, warned me about another ("This color is dark, but with light cabinets you could get away with it"), and helped me select another color entirely for a different room of the house. All in all, she was a wealth of information and I wouldn't hesitate in hiring her, and I may just do so for decorating advice after all my other projects are complete. I can't imagine what she could do with window treatments and area rug choices!

I don't like giving negative reviews but I just have to say something in regards to this company…read morethe owners are simply not up to par they provide horrible service their design efforts are not at all modern. You do not get what you pay for you play a lot of money for little results they do not know how to speak to client they are not good at following up with their client.
