This place used to be amazing have a wide range to choose from. I work only a block away and would frequently get lunch from them. Things changed a few months ago. The first reg flag was that my friend's Pad Thai was flavorless and the food looked so pale. We took it as maybe it was an off day and chose to not going for a while. Then we tried to give it a go again today and it was even worse.
I went to the sandwich section to get a Korean BBQ, which is my go to choice, and my friend when to get bulgogi over rice. First the service to get your order down was 3x slower than before. When i finally got to the front to do my order, I give them what I want and I see them whisper something about my order but didn't think it was of any importance because they didn't tell me anything afterwards. I start seeing them prep my sandwich and right off the bat I should have questioned it. One of the cooks started cutting up a steak and another was cutting pickles. I have gotten this sandwich so many times and I knew that that wasn't the way its done nor that those are the ingredients. Then a steak sauce was added and cheese. The sandwich should have sriracha, bulgogi, pickled veggies, cilantro and mozzarella. The meat wasn't bulgogi, there was no cilantro, and no pickled veggies. Instead I got sliced steak, mozzarella and pickles.
When I went back to ask about my sandwich since it was nothing like how a Korean BBQ sandwich should be like, all the cook was say was that since they no longer have pickled veggies, he substituted it with pickles for me. And that they no longer will have pickled veggies.
If that's the case, then what needs to be done is update the menu. They didn't even ask me if I would be ok with them making a version of the sandwich. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have waited 20 minutes to get a random sandwich. I had to tell the cook I wasn't taking the sandwich because I wasn't going to pay for something that wasn't what I order.
That was only my ordeal. Now my friend's was also sad. There was barely any bulgogi on the dish. It was so sad to look at. Again it was colorless and the portion was so small compared to before. Seemed like it was all rice for $13. Te pre-packaged bulgogi looked better than the freshly made.
Idk what happened with the place. Maybe there's new management or maybe it's a new kitchen staff, but it pretty much went downhill.
We can safely say that unfortunately today is the last day we go to ETC. read more
