Staff seems you are bothering them when you are giving them business. Not very nice at all. For mealpal one usually just scan a code and the food is given to you. Today I was told to get online at the other counter with the regular customers. When I reached the cashier I was shown the MealPal QR code. Then the women seemed to go get my food from the shelf but just disappeared. No explanation. No communication. The two other ladies at the registers also have no communication. I was invisible. I stood there 5-10 minutes before someone brought my food from the back. It would be professional to share with your customer what is going on. I would appreciate it being told my food will be coming from the back and they'll be a few minutes late. Just that simple action would put the customer at ease. Service I get here is worse than I get in Chinatown from grumpy old men. You can always tell if the employees are happy or not. And they always take it out on the consumers. read more

This is your typical Manhattan multi-purpose eatery... "Buffet - Deli Station - enhanced Bodega"... I've been several times now, and not once I have been happy with my food selection. I've tried their udon, bibimbap, bagel BEC, soup, ramen... all are mediocre and at times, you are better off buying an instant ramen in a cup... OR will yourself to walk a bit more to get better sandwiches (Cubans at Tina's, Potbellly, Alidora), better ramen (Ichiran, Ktown)... anywhere... bagel, go to market crate; salad (go to Chop't!)... The ladies are nice tho... very efficient service, really just wish the food was better. I can't do this anymore... I've tried, when I'm desperate... and each time it's a complete let down. Usually here 2-3 times a week. I purchase breakfast majority of the time. Always upon entering greeted by a very pleasant woman. She's always happy and smiling. One of the reasons why I stop in. ETC is one of those "get whatever you want" type of places. Can get anything from sandwiches to buffet to sushi to salad to thai food to even snacks/drinks. Has a multipurpose type of feel to it, something all too common in places around Manhattan. While you can get whatever you like, that doesn't mean everything is great. The Cauliflower Melt was an example of that. It had promise, but I realized the cauliflower was of the steamed variety. Problem with that is the cauliflower is just way too hard and bland. I wish they had a grilled cauliflower there as it would be a better complement to the provolone cheese and the peppers (which are pretty spicy). Also, it looks like the price is now $10.95 instead of $9.95 as listed on the board. Bad look for price deception. read more

I'm absolutely obsessed with ETC. I came here during my lunch break for the first time last week, and I was shocked by how much they have to offer. This place probably has the largest hot/cold buffet in the neighborhood. The buffet variety is just incredible. It's $10.99/lb which is the average. I got a banana pancake, two sausages, and two mozzarella sticks. They also had French toast, bread pudding, wraps, and breakfast sandwiches. They had avocados stuffed with quinoa and egg, which is good that they have healthy options. The buffet looked clean and well labeled. I liked that they had plastic and cardboard takeout containers. definitely some sort of pricing scam going on, good is great but you'll end up paying 1-2 dollars more than the actual marked price. they type in the amount at check out which is always at least a dollar more than the actual amount, and on top of that you pay a credit card fee after tapping. my 11.95 sandwich came out to close to 14 dollars after payment. This place is amazing! They offer a very large, hot and cold food bar, soups, burgers, Asian food, sandwiches plus a whole lot more. Literally a one stop shop for lunch. They even have a small candy store department. Their hot and cold food bar is $9.99 a pound. I literally filled up on their fish baked salmon and baked Basa. Ok and also some Mac and cheese :) . Their fish tasted as good as it looked. Delicious and it was really cooked perfectly. It seems like this place can really accommodate anyone's specific diet. Well except if you eat kosher. I didn't see any Kosher selections. I normally don't eat from food bars this late in the day but this place was really so clean and the food looked very fresh. When I'm in the office, which isn't too much these days, this is my go-to lunch stop. Part bodega, part bar, part grocery store...no wonder they had trouble thinking of a name. While I usually opt for a salad or sandwich, I think the selection of Korean food (bibimbap is my go-to) is great. Or hot bar. Or sushi. Where else can you get all of that and a $5 draft beer? The food is great, and I find everything to be well priced. Bring cash, because as of late, that scores you a 7% discount. COVID stuff: Seems normal, for what normal is these days. Came here for an order through ritual on a Tuesday morning. I was able to quickly pick up my order without issue at the estimated time provided on the app. Taking a look around the full store, there looked to be a wide array of options for breakfast, lunch, a quick snack, or coffee break. I would certainly recommend checking it out if you work near the area. The cold brew was creamy and refreshing, certainly on the lighter side of cold brews I have had, but I'm not sure how much milk they put in since I had preordered. Two points: 1. $1.35 credit card charge is about 16% without telling you in the front. There is no way credit card charge needs 16%. 2. There is a plethora of options but here are some of the highlights: Buffet Bar: One of the better options in this area where you get a mix of American and Asian food. The sushi looks great but you're better off just going to a regular sushi spot. I feel comfortable to even have the seafood from the buffet. Breakfast: This place is par for breakfast, you'll get what you want, it's borderline $$/$$$ since you may end up spending $11 and change for a medium coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Grill: Standard Cafeteria grill - you can't go wrong Salad Bar: Very rarely will I get a salad, but standard with their selection. For what you pay (approx. $11) I'd maybe go to Just Salad or another spot if it's close by. Asian Station: This is where they take the cake and is located in the back. If I want quick, quality, cafeteria Asian food where I get a meal for under $10, I come here. The Ramyun and Udon are par (not as great as ramen spot) but their Thursday Hong Kong Beef Noodle is a delicacy of its own with its awesome broth. This is the most popular item among our office floor. I'm also a huge fan of the Spicy Korean Chicken and Rice dish because of the large portion they give. My coworker today had the Chicken Katsu and Curry which was also well portioned and smelt delicious. Because you can get both for under $10, which makes it a lunch time steal given the area.
