We discovered Estrella's during the year we lived in Fallbrook. Having moved back to Orange County, we still eat here regularly because the food is so delicious. Best place to go for authentic Mexican food. This place is a small place and always had people in it... meaning amazing food. I tried their Fajitas a la Parilla and it was so tasty. Some "Mexican" food restaurants add too much salt to their dishes or are drenched in grease or oil or or have a type of canned food taste to it but not Estrellas. Recipes are true to what a real Mexican family would make at home. I tried their Chile Relleno and it was mild and well seasoned. A definite must have for next time. So the food was amazing. The drinks...oh boy, do they have great drinks! I saw the bartender make a blended Chamoy Margarita and had to have one. Unfortunately, their blender broke so I had to take mine on the rocks but even then it was awesome! The taste was very similar to a mango paleta con chile. The rim of the glass was coated with Tajin so it gave it a Lil kick. I ordered a regular one, then a bigger one, then an OMG sized one which I had my family help me with. It was delicious! So, definitely hit this place up for amazing food and drinks. You might have to wait a while but it is worth it. The prices are reasonable as well. read more

Wow. Just wow. Incredible food to justify the line out the door. The guacamole was so smooth fresh and creamy, a must for an appetizer. Make sure to order the home made hot sauce with your meal. Not too hot and overpowering, but flavorful with heat just to light up the tastebuds. All the way from Kentucky, would make the trip again. read more

Incredible service and amazing food. Definitely love and reccomend this place. Killer margaritas as other yelpers have mentioned, but the food is also just as amazing. Very good chipotle sauce that you can put on anything and thier salsa you could eat with a spoon. I know they are a small version of Casa De Estrella, but 100% over I would go here more than the bigger restaurant. Highly recommended!!!! I was so sad to see they were being closed down in Bonsall, but to my surprise they reopened closer to where I live in a brighter (but smaller) place in town. The food tastes better than ever, the Margaritas are a butt kicker and yes....it gets crowded. So expect a wait at peak times and just relax and smell the food! I especially love the entire "specialties" section from their Carnitas to their Chipotle Sauce covered chicken ( hot food lovers rejoice!). The entire family is there serving and cooking, you won't get any better authentic food. No white wash nacho cheese sauce here. Just finished eating at this Mexican cuisine restaurant. The food here is excellent, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at. My husband had the chicken fajitas and it was amazing! The guacamole is very, very good. I have no complaints about the food here. This restaurant was relocated from Bonsal to Fallbrook due to eminent domain when hwy 76 was widened. The only drawback is the restaurant is a little small and can get noisy at times. I am hoping this family owned business will be so successful that it will expand! read more

I went to Estrellas restaurant on Monday with my family. We chose takeout. The beef fajitas were green colored and tasted like Sundays leftovers. The chipotle chicken was cooked within an inch of their short life. The only person satisfied with their meal got fish burritos, which thankfully can't reasonably be held over and served a day later. My granddaughter wouldn't eat. What a waste of 50.00. Won't happen again. read more

We ended up in Fallbrook while out, amd remembered a local recommending this restaurant. We ordered tamales, enchiladas, tacos amd rice amd beans. The salsa and chips were fresh tasting and all of the food tasted good amd was in good quantity. Howwever, we didn't care for the crispy taco shells which reminded us of store bought too much. Also, my husband asked for some chopped onion on his enchilada and they charged us .70 for the small bit of onion. It didn't break the bank, but we thought it a little odd. We didn't ask for extra cheese or guacamole. It was just some onion. Unfortunately, we came in before the dinner rush hennitvwasnt busy and waited a bit to be seated even though there was only a couple customers there. We were told they're locals that are there each day. So are we & many others, but we were ignored. We went inside to eat & again the smell came in. Just had Estrella's for the first time, I ordered a grilled chicken burrito (I added a ton of stuff on it & they were happy to oblige) my husband had 2 enchiladas with red sauce... My burrito was amazing! Excellent quality, salsa was outstanding, service was knowledgable & friendly. However, my husband's enchiladas were some of the worst we'd ever had.
