I'd like to start off with the fact that the food was absolutely fresh, authentic, and delicious!…read more I had the ribs with rice, pinto beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and plantains. Did I mention that the did was fresh?! Wow! Mmm! My boyfriend had the combination fajita. He made the same comment... sooo fresh! We almost didn't stay because when we entered the establishment, other than the one family that was already seated at a table, there was no one to be found. Just before I was going to walk out, a young man walked out from the kitchen and told us we could sit where we wanted to. He brought menus and asked us what we'd like to drink. After mentioning a few things that included unsweet iced tea and Pellegrino, we asked for the tea. He returned to say they were out. We then asked for the Pellegrino, but he immediately stated they didn't have any. We opted for the mineral water. We were brought a small tray with chips and salsa. Once again, very fresh and the salsa was amazing. I did have to ask for napkins. All in all, I'll definitely be visiting this restaurant again

We ordered Guacamole and they forgot to add to bill. Instead of comping us the miss, they asked to pay separately.. didn't feel right to me. Ambience is nice, ample free parking. BYOB. Generous portions, tasty.. I'll give this place another chance to see if it gets better.

I've been driving past this restaurant for a year and finally had the opportunity to stop in and…read moreeat on Saturday. I'm not sure why the 3.0 rating. I found the food pretty good specifically the empanadas. I could not believe how delicious they were. I thought I made good empanadas but these are better than mine! I have to step up my game. Unfortunately, I dug in and forgot to take a photo. The style of empanadas were the way the Puerto Rican empanadas are made, with the ground beef and potato in it. Very tasty. They were pretty big as welI. I also ordered the corn softshell fish tacos, which had a nice mild flavor. Think they were cod or halibut. I thought I would be able to choose three different tacos, but I could not so I had to choose one type. My friend ordered the Birria tacos, which were very good. I gave him a fish taco and I took a Birria taco. The tacos came with a green sauce as well as chipotle sauce. The green sauce was to die for. I was obsessed with it. The server said he believed it was made with avocado and garlic. I forgot what else he mentioned. I would like to recreate it. The taco platter came with the basic Mexican style yellow rice and black beans. The rice and beans like every other Mexican restaurant that I have dined in, lacked a bit of flavor. I think that's just the way their rice and beans are made. I don't want to compare them with Cuban black, which are the best because those have Cuban flavors and made differently and the Mexican beans are made differently so this did not surprise me and I am not going to take away stars for the way that they are made. I brought the left over beans home and doctored them up with a little vinegar and pack of white label sazon a bit more water for the boil and to mix in the flavors and all was good. The restaurant is very nice with some nice murals decorating the walls. The server, Brian, was very personable and informative. I plan to come back here and try their other dishes. So far, I recommend. Do try those empanadas! You won't be disappointed!

She was so kind and warm. The service was also fast ! And it wasn't empty either !! Everything arrived hot fresh and quickly ! 2. The drinks were fantastic. My friend got the prickly pear and I got the cocoloco ! We both ordered seconds ! 3. We did a special appetizer which was cheese corn and chips. Sooo good !! 4. I ordered the veggie fajita. Came out sizzling and delicious. My friend got the shrimp tacos. There were three and plentiful !! 5. We shared the churros for dessert. Also well worth it. 6 the volume was also easy to talk and hear each other. I don't see how anyone is complaining about this place. Now if you expect authentic Mexican. This isn't it. But for a great night out with yummy food and drinks ?? This is your place.

The kid was craving Mexican food so we searched Yelp and found that this place has good reviews…read more The photos of the food looked good. We decided to try it. There is no parking lot for this place. There is a Municipal parking lot about one block over behind the post office. We lucked out as there was street parking directly in front of the restaurant. We ordered agua de Jamaica. Huge glass for $4.95. I would guess that it's 16-20 ounces. Gigantic. Well priced. We ordered guacamole which was good too. They didn't give us any salsa for the table like they do at other Mexican joints. For our mains, we ordered their mixed fajitas with shrimp chicken and beef. It was about $21 and it was a huge dish. It's not the usually fajitas that I've had at other places. Theirs comes in a delicious sauce which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a generous portion and the flavors were on point. We recommend it. Our other dish was the El Rinconcito which came with grilled items: pork cutlets, beef, chicken, shrimps cactus, Spanish cheese rice and beans. It was an alright eight. We prefer the saucy fajita dish more. We def plan to go back. Next time, we are going to order their molcajete which is listed at $34.95 so I assume it'll be a huge dish for two based on the price. From the owners description, it Comes with all kinds of meats steak chicken shrimp pork sausage. I'm trying my best not to go back two days in a row but I may swing by for Lunch later. Good is good as is service. Good came out quick and she asked a few times whether we needed anything else. I believe they give some sort of cash discount or charge to use credit card because she asked how I was paying. They add an auto tip of 15% which I didn't mind. Gave her a few bucks more. All in all, it was a good meal. Appears to be a small mom and pop store and I'm happy to support local small business. It helps that the food is delicious too.

I did have a bunch of their sauces and salsas. None really stood out except their green sauce, which was used sporadically. Birria Tacos - These were very good. The consommé was flavorful, while the beef was tender. The tortilla was crisp too even with the consommé added. Elote Corn - This was rather plain. There was only a crema and cotija cheese present. It seemed like chili powder was supposed to be added, but I did not taste or see any. The corn could have been cooked a little better too. Guacamole - This was tasty. It appeared fresh and paired well with the chips given. I really liked the texture of it too. Chicken Flautas - These were deep fried tortillas with chicken, sour cream, lettuce, and cotija cheese I believe. These were solid. The chicken could have been seasoned a little more, but the tortillas were crisp and held up. Choriqueso Con Tortillas Tostadas - This was melted jack and Oaxacan cheese topped with Mexican chorizo over toasted nixtamal homemade corn tortillas. The cheese and chorizo was excellent, with lots of flavor. It did not look the best but tasted good. The corn tortilla was either old and stale or just fried way too long as it was very tough to chew. It could have made for a great bite. Will I go back? Debatable.

From the vibrant décor and lively atmosphere to the warm, attentive service, both restaurants deliver the same high-quality experience. Most importantly, the food is outstanding. Add an excellent selection of margaritas and an impressive collection of tequilas, and you have all the ingredients for a memorable meal. The tableside guacamole is simple but very good. Since it's prepared right at your table, you can customize the spice level to your liking. The steak tampiqueña is, in my opinion, the best north of Tampico. The flank steak was tender, juicy, perfectly marinated, and expertly cooked. Served with rice, refried beans, warm tortillas, and traditional accompaniments, it was simply exceptional. The impeccable service elevated an already excellent meal into a truly enjoyable dining experience.

I told the server I am allergic and specifically ordered a corn tortilla. It came out and it looked like flour tortilla to me so I asked the waiter and he assured me it was corn without even checking it. The manager also came over and assured me it was corn without checking it. I made the mistake of trusting them instead of trusting my instincts and ate it and almost immediately after I was done had a reaction. If I was severely allergic I would be in the hospital right now. They don't take allergies seriously here. It's a shame because the food is pretty good. If you have any allergies in general I would not eat here.
