I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

Unlike some other companies that sub everything out, their in-house team handled the electrical and roofing work seamlessly. This year (2024) I decided that my electric bill was just too much, I was going to get solar eventually, and the longer I put it off the more it would cost me overall. I liked that they didn't harass me. Once some folks get your number they just wont stop calling. Diablo didn't bug me back in 2020 and they were not really trying the hard sale this time either. I called them, had a brief discussion about what I was looking for, and scheduled a visit. I didn't know much about solar installations, so I spoke with a friend who was familiar with these things. He told me what to look out for in terms of equipment. After I got the quote, the folks at Diablo were very helpful answering questions along these lines. Again just providing information, not trying to sell me. Diablo handled everything and scheduled a time to do the install. Overall it took about 3 days. Two days for most of the hardware and then a day about a week later to deal with the mess in my breaker box from some previous work done by another company. Then they handled everything with PG&E and about a month later everything was cleared on PG&Es end. This delay was due to PG&E processing paperwork. Overall it's working well. Green Air actually took over Certified Heating's clientele (I was with Certified for 2 years) and they were wonderful. After they took over, they already cut down our maintenance visits from 2x a year to 1x a year. I wasn't too happy about it but the techs that came were nice and cordial. However, I'm not really sure what's going on. Maybe new management. I had my last maintenance service done in 6/2025. I moved in Dec 2025 and transferred my service to the new address. I scheduled a maintenance service for end of this month and just last Thursday, I got an update email that they were downgrading and removing all HVAC tune ups, air filter changes and solar cleaning. Basically all the benefits that I chose to pay the membership. What really angers and frustrates me is how no one is picking up their phones and it goes straight to vmail. When I did finally get an email reply, they stated that they would only apply my 5 month payments to the maintenance fees, so they basically didn't count the previous months I paid at my old home. I feel like that is pretty unfair, that I paid a full year to have no maintenance included and I would have to pay more money on top to match whatever fee they say maintenance services are currently. They didn't offer a refund or that my service I already scheduled back in May would be taken care of. Now I just want to cancel and take it as a loss since I can't get a clear answer. I will have to find a new company that hopefully cares about their customers.

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. And, they were also really thoughtful when we mentioned we had added in some upgrades that would affect electricity use (ie saunas and outdoor electric heaters), and they reassessed their initial project and updated it to accommodate that. Joe came out to provide the estimate, and he and another installer completed the installation in just one day. They recommended using a pool cover to help retain heat overnight when temperatures drop, and that advice has worked well for us. Since installing the system and using the pool cover, our pool temperature has been averaging around 82°F in the morning and warming up to approximately 85-87°F during the day. We haven't experienced many really hot days yet, but so far the system is performing exactly as we had hoped. We're very happy with our decision and are glad we finally made the switch to solar.

Responses were slow and vague; I could not even get a ballpark estimate without repeated follow-ups. My last email requesting scheduling went unanswered, and then--three weeks later--Joe called on May 6 saying he was eight minutes away. I had no idea I'd been scheduled, and I was just lucky to be home. Bottom line: if you can get on Joe's calendar, you'll likely be happy with the repair. Just be prepared for shaky communication and scheduling from the office staff.

My project is now finished and it's been about 6 months turned on and functioning- I'm still so…read moreglad that I did this with Ambrose Solar. Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!
