I recently purchased my espresso machine from Salvatore. They specialize in custom machines. Pricing is not for the faint of heart but the machine is commercial grade quality. He also sells his own coffee bean blend which is pretty tasty. It's a no nonsense store and he is from Italy, so keep that in perspective and you will get along just fine. read more

I bought a used Salvatore espresso machine recently and it needed a lot of work and some parts. I contacted the company several times by phone and email requesting help, and they never responded. I finally took the machine to Great Infusions in Santa Cruz and they got it working nicely. read more

I have a 4 year old salvatore semi purchased in 2021. Warranty is for 6 years. Called and he told me that the machine was out of warranty and got really hostile. In the past he has always provided parts to do the repair myself. So I called him again. He then asked that I send pictures after I described the problem. He said that the problem was the pump. I called him back, again he got hostile and told me the machine was out of warranty. At this point I asked him to look up the paper work on the warranty, he refused to do so and really escalated in his rhetoric again, then hung up. Website says it has a 6 year warranty. From the time I first got the machine in 2021, until now (2025), I have had to repair solenoids, leaks, poor electrical connections ect. So I cannot recommend this company or its products. read more

I own a One Black that I bought 11 years ago. The machine vale started to leak about a year ago. I finally had time to take the machine to the store today to have it repaired. I understood that it will cost me $200 non-refundable charge to evaluate the repair. The first thing that bothered me was they wanted my credit card number not only the expiration date but also the security code on the back of my Cc. Secondly Salvadore just can't give me an estimated how much will cost me to repair the unit so I can make a decision whether to have it repaired or buy a new one. Salvadore finally did at the end and told me that it could cost $700 to $800 for clean/repair. Wendy, a very nice lady wanted to know what kind of "water" I use for the machine. I told her "filtered water" and she wanted to know what kind of filter I use. I thanked them both for their time even before Salvatore refuse to repair it for me ( asking too many questions get him upset". For that kind of cost to repair I'll get myself a new espresso machine.. there are many choices out there. Update, I finally got the machine repaired by XOXO espresso in Burlingame CA. Austin the owner repaired it in a week for $600. There are few design Design flaws that he pointed out: the water tank can't be removed for cleaning without damaging the connector. There is no way to see the water tank water level without removing the outer casing. You can only use a small espresso shut glass and anything else will not fit under. read more

If you like espresso you need to stop here and be amazed that Salvatore (owner) is making crazy machines equal to the best in the world. I stumbled in when I saw the sign and assumed it was a coffee shop. I have owned many espresso machines in my life and had a great one at the time, I ordered a hand made machine using world class parts that the other top brands use and it was priced comparatively. Having the peace of mind that the owner will back up the machine and you can drive and find him was sweet as well. My machine is over 2 years old and works great never any issues. His wife Windy is also great. You can taste what the machines can produce and he sells great beans as well. I am not easily satisfied wrt espresso - 80% of espressos I have had in the US are not up to my stds. His custom machines mean custom I have seen orders where machines looked like the client's favorite object, tennis racket, wine barrel and other things. I got a somewhat normal one, euro retro look with lever pull, in stainless. Got a fav color he'll do it. I stop by for espresso beans now and again Salvatore and Windy are always there, happy and helpful, he is making custom machines by hand in the back (lathes, drill press etc) and Windy is in the front is the showroom. You will love your new machine and love that you bought it from a great couple (one you met) Vs a multi billion dollar corporation - I buy stuff from corps no problem really but when there is a better local alternative it's a no brainer. read more

I took my time finding a replacement for our old espresso machine. I had the opportunity to visit Solvang to see the machines and meet Salvatore and I wasn't disappointed. Compared to any machine on the market, his machines are incredible. I'm an engineer by trade, and these are the machines that I would try to build! We've named our machine "Sally" and look forward to a lifetime of perfectly pulled espresso. read more

I bought a machine from Salvatore Espresso a few years ago with what I thought was a solid warranty. When I sent the machine in for warranty repairs, I was met with nothing but hostility. I'd seriously hesitate to do business with this company as their business ethics are really in the grey area. read more

Very dissatisfied with the service of Salvatore Espresso Systems Inc. The first year my machine started sounding different which is usually a warning sign. After speaking with the operator Wendy (which led to several Emails and phone conversations) there was no explanation as to the grinding noise when the pump was engaged. Next the pump went out. Most recently my husband contacted Salvatore for yet another part malfunction under warrenty and was received with hostility and false accusations by Salvatore himself. It has been my experience that Wendy escalates issues instead of trying to find solutions, making the process time consuming and unnecessary. All of the espresso machine breakdowns and trying to work with Salvatore Espresso Systems Inc. has been a nightmare. I am very disappointed. I could not recommend Salvatore Espresso Systems. read more

We've had Salvatore machines for over 12 years and have loved the quality of the equipment and the shot. It's quite a piece of equipment...we'd tried other machines between 1994 and our first Salvatore purchase in 2002. We wouldn't switch to any other machine. In 2012 we upgraded to the E61 head and love it. Our old Salvatore machine is still in use by my sister...who still texts me..."another great latte this morning. Thanks for passing the machine on to me". Noises can be a sign of an issue developing. Sometimes an unusual noise before the pump cycles can be a lubrication issue on the "O" ring in the system...try clearing it by opening the valve to pull the shot...or open up the machine to get to the lines that feed the pump and lubricate that "O" ring. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, ask for coaching and/or take it to a person who is comfortable working with equipment. I can imagine the frustration one can experience trying to get their espresso...I've turned into an espresso snob and won't go to most coffee houses because of the poor pull...very often using a burnt roast with the resulting shot being over or under-drawn...which can actually but a real kink in how my day starts. read more

The machine makes good espressos. The pump is loud. The double boiler design does allow you to pull shot after shot without having to wait for water to heat up. It's a good pro-sumer, artisan crafted machine. I cannot recommend Salvatore. Engaging in warranty repairs proved fruitless and left this customer feeling bad about choosing Savatore. In order to enable you to make up your own mind, here is a description of working to have a warranty repair with Salvatore. The process took five months. ____________ Since the machine is big, heavy and expensive to ship, I was asked to break out wrenches and send Salvatore suspected parts. The customer is expected to pay for consumable parts- like teflon gaskets at $18 each. The coil was suspect, It should work, but would I like to buy a new one for $95? (no.) After two rounds of that without resolution, I sent Salvatore the whole machine. They determined that the problem was due to mis-use of the machine, poor packaging during shipment and my inept fiddling with the machine at Salvatores prompting. Therefore, no warranty service. Salvatore suggested that I pay for a machine rebuild. I pressed for a fixed firm price. The repair would be at the tipping point, costing me about 45% of a new machine. When I got the machine back, it could not be reinstalled because Salvatore removed the plumb in accessory. This bit of copper tubing has a compression fitting and is therefore "consumable" - over a hundred bucks. Rather than deal with Salvatore I had the local espresso shop build me one for 5% of the cost on Salvatores price list. Good? Nope. Salvatore sent me an invoice indicating that the price of the repair was twice what I authorized. So I called them. They explained that the invoice was paid in full for the fixed firm price. They just wanted me to know the value of the repair I had received. read more

Be careful. Reviews from multiple platforms show some consistent reviews regarding awful service. Unfortunately, I was one who received a non working machine. Customer service was no existent. They blamed it on me. I was out $3k. Now that I've repaired the machine at my expense I've found it to be quite slow and inconsistent. It looks cool on the countertop, but in reality its not an efficient machine. Neat idea but thats about it. read more

Purchased a refurbished machine less than a year ago. On my third return of the espresso machine for repair (my wife and I are the only users of the machine) and after wating approximately two weeks I was told that the cause was missuse by the operator and the repair charge would be $300. I indicated that I did not want the repair and would pick up the machine. When I arrived the machine was dissassembled and I could wait around if I wanted it re-assembled, I didn't wait around. read more

Almost 4 years with a semi-auto made here, used multiple times a day, and not a a problem yet. Espresso that comes out of this machine is as good as the best cafes. Salvatore is an artist and a craftsman. There aren't enough of them these days. Now if he'd only come up with a dual boiler e61 PID machine....!!! read more

A functional piece of Art! Extraordinary customer service (Wendy). We have had this one for over 2 years...wish I'd known about Salvatore's machines sooner! I had previously purchased several high end ones, but either they did not last at all or were at the least, temperamental and unreliable. We are very 'picky' about our espresso and this work of Art delivers consistantly perfect shots and froth (also easy to clean!). read more
