I really loved the pastry it was super flaky, rich, and filled with a generous amount of chocolate and pistachio. I ordered the iced pistachio latte. For the price, I think the presentation could've been a bit nicer, but taste-wise it was solid and enjoyable. The crowd was a mix of people casually chatting and others working, which fit the overall professional atmosphere. Slight The staff were also very kind and attentive, coming by to check in on us. They even offer bookable office spaces if you need a more private work area (for an extra cost). TMI but worth mentioning the washroom was amazing. They had really nice soap and hand cream, plus a bidet with a heated seat, which was such a pleasant surprise Overall, it's a pretty good café with thoughtful details and great service. Tip: Park across the street and walk over to avoid paying for parking. Personal preference: While there were things I really liked, I personally prefer a more laid-back, cozy café vibe, so I'd give this place a 3.5/5.

And it is the middle of a coworking space. It is on the 7th floor, so it is hidden but amazing. The washrooms are also super clean with heated seating. Keep in mind, this is not an ideal place to bring kids. The food and coffee is good I had the pumpkin spice latte, Carmel latee and and vanilla latte, and I would say the coffeee is amazing and strong. No matter what day you come, they are and have been consistent. I will be back

I loved the Lavender Latte and the Blueberry Danish--will definitely be coming back for that combo. I also got the Mocha Latte which was also good! The pastries are made fresh everyday and you could definitely tell Service: Amazing service! The owner and the barista working (apologies, I forgot to get your names) when I arrived were super nice and friendly. Answered all of my questions thoroughly with a friendly smile and interacted with every customer that came after me in the same manner. They were super quick, despite it getting a bit busy at times. Ambiance: Adorable decor with a good amount of seats! There is wifi (if you choose to stay a bit to study or work, which is permitted) and outlets for your convenience. The interior is modern with a lovely red theme--you could tell that the owner loves this cafe! If you're worried about parking, theres plenty of free parking in the back. TLDR: Absolutely loved everything from the friendly owner and barista to the amazing food and drink. Will definitely be coming back to study and sip on a good drink. If you're in the area or live nearby, definitely stop by and say hi! Note: because they just opened a few weeks ago, they're having a promotion every Sunday from 10am - 12pm until the new year (Dec 31) where you can get a free coffee as a little "hello" to the neighbourhood. Additionally, they have a stamp system where if you buy 10 drinks, your 11th is free!

Very spacious for group dining, couples or solo! I definitely wanted to try the Shopska salad and the Cevapi (chevapi) plate so that's what I ordered and it did not disappoint!! A must-order is the bread called lepinja (lepin-ya). It comes with a fresh cheese called kajmak (k-eye-mak) The cevapi plate comes with your choice of 3 sides - coleslaw with oil/vinegar, potatoes, diced raw onions, or baked beans. Everything was fantastic. The cevapi were perfectly done. Lepinja and kajmak were amazing. Kajmak is home-made there, and you can buy some to go! Shopska salad features cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and green peppers in an oil/vinegar dressing with a mountain of shredded feta on top!!! Soooo good!!

We ordered lepinja sa kajmakom, which was a homestyle bread with cream cheese. This was the star dish of the night omg, priced at $5 for 4 pieces it instantly set the meal in the right direction! We then got the shopska salad which was a salad with tomato, cucumber, onion, green pepper, and feta. Salad was mid, but it was nice to have greens as our main was the mesano meso, a grilled meat platter for 4. This platter was so filling and had different varieties of meats. The best meat in this selection was the sausage, I unfortunately found everything else a little lacklustre. Service was great throughout the night, ambiance was nothing super special. Verdict: come for the homestyle bread!! Still thinking about it haha

I found parking right in front of the cafe. It's diagonal, pull-in street parking. I walked in. It's a push to get through the door. I was immediately greeted by a friendly, accommodating staff member. I wanted a hot chocolate and asked about the four different ounce sizes. He showed me all the paper white cups. I went with the second-largest size. I also asked that I get soy or some non-dairy beverage added to it. Done! I have a weakness for baked goods. This cafe has vegan options, including pumpkin vegan muffins during my visit. Everything looked so goods, from brownies, to cookies. I saw the large cookie jars staring at me. My gosh, each cookie is larger than the palm of my hand and I have big hands! I wanted a s'mores one so badly. You basically take the tongs, grab your cookie, and place it in a paper bag. I got my hot chocolate and cookie that came to $9. It's not cheap, but it's fair trade goods. I expect to pay slightly more. There is a draft in the cafe, so the merchant bill that I had ripped off the machine before getting my bill blew off the counter and onto the floor. I let the man know, which he appreciated. You can pay by cash, and debit and credit cards. I also provided a tip. As usual, it's up to you. It was a bit of a challenge with full hands to get out of the cafe when you need to pull on the door handle to get out. Luckily, I put my hot chocolate on the bar-like table, pulled the door open, used my foot to keep it open, grabbed my drink, and moved quickly through the door. Problem solved! The hot chocolate is dark chocolate. I happen to love it. If you are more of a milk hot chocolate lover, you might find the hot chocolate to be missing sugar and perhaps taste bitter. I loved it. There was probably more soy in my drink than there should have been, but it was perfect for my less sugary needs. The s'mores cookie is extremely yummy! OMG, if I lived in the neighbourhood, I would buy the jar of cookies every day. It was buttery, chocolatey, and marshmallowy (I know, not a word, but whatever) delicious. It paired nicely with my hot chocolate, as it had slightly more sugar. I would come back just for this cookie alone. There were plenty of seats to sit down. If you sit by the bar-like area with stools, you get a nice view of the area. People-watching is casual in this cafe. It has a nice vibe. You can get a number of fair-trade coffee varieties. I am personally not a coffee connoisseur, but I appreciated both the selection and the cause. I like this cafe. I'd come back to give the muffins and more drink items a taste the next time I'm here. I needed to kill some time, and not being enough of a loser to actually line up at the Costco doors, I headed out onto the Queensway in search of that bold elixir known as coffee. Right there as you head west you may have noticed Bar Cavallino and Sports Bar on the corner and on the north side of the street. Usually you will see men hanging around out front, which is mildly deterring, but since it was the only place in sight that was open I was all in. Now I can see the attraction for these guys. Ok, so we all know that international soccer happens at weird hours and that's the excuse to be drinking beer in the morning at these places, but hey they have coffee too! The bartender was super hyped up here, which was great! It seemed he had a lot of coffee and was motoring around and ready to go at 8am which was refreshing. And, the best part was the prices were old-school yay! Gotta love cheap lattes, especially coming from King/Queen West where 5 or 6 bucks gets you one of these delicious drinks. But $3.50 is way easier to swallow and lets you have a couple of em instead of savouring just one. So next time you drive by here slow down and see if there's parking out front which was available when I was there in the morning and I didn't even have to plug the meter since it was before 9am, nice! Great spot on the Queensway and viva Italia!

My new favourite cafe for baked goods. I work in the area,…read moreso I'm always looking for new bakeries and pastries to try, to enjoy with my coffee during my break. Black goat is no stranger to me. I visited this cafe only a handful of times more than 5 years ago, as I was not working in the area yet but would come down for meetings. During this time I distinctly remember they had an Oreo cheesecake cookie that was aaaaamazing. So amazing, I never forgot about it, 5+ years later lol. Well I came back this year, sad to find out they were no longer selling it. So on my first visit, I decided just to get a chocolate chip cookie. To my surprise, I actually really liked it. I'm very picky with my chocolate chip cookies. The bonus was the price point. It was only $2 something for a delicious, generously sized cookie. On one of my most recent visits a conversation was sparked with the owner. I thought it was appropriate as I was in there so often, I should at least learn her name lol. I learned so much from her and all the struggles she faces as a small business during these times of COVID and inflation. The owner is soooo nice and sweet. Okay this review is getting so long lol let me tell you about some of the other treats. Which again, her price points are so refreshing during these expensive times. Banana chocolate chip muffin- I don't like these, but I love them at black goat. The muffin top has the slightest crunch and they use chopped Belgian chocolate instead of chocolate chips. All this makes it's so delicious and so different than any other banana chocolate muffin I've tried. Carrot muffin- again that slight crunch on the muffin top is such a winner. And the muffin is not too sweet, like those store bought one. It tastes fresh, like your actually getting a serving of vegetables lol making you feel even better about eating a muffin. New menu item, croissants - so wonderful! It has the perfect slightly crunchy outer layer while the inside is so soft and all around buttery. AND great news, the Oreo cheesecake cookies are coming back this week!! Back by popular demand, she informed me that these were coming back, as she was rolling out a whole load of new bakery items. (Brownies, hello dolly bars, other cookies) I'm sooooo excited, take all my money! Hot tip: all baked goods are 50% off after 1:30! This place is going to be a problem because I was already here 3 times in one week....even twice in one day. Hahaha. I love supporting local :)
