Walked in and this place gave off the perfect coffee lounge vibe. The barista was so friendly and kind, the bakery goods all looked so appealing, and of course the espresso was top notch. Highly recommend this place, and I'll for sure be back.

I'm honestly shocked I've never been to SanRemo before! On this visit, I had the steak sandwich, mortadella sandwich, cold brew, and Nutella latte, and everything was delicious. The vanilla cupcake was especially good--super moist and not overly sweet. Parking is pretty limited, but if you arrive early enough, you can usually find street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood. Despite how busy it was, the service was incredibly quick. There seemed to be plenty of staff working together to keep orders moving efficiently. One bonus that I absolutely loved is that they carry Nutella and Orzo imported from Italy. It's nice knowing I don't have to fly to Italy every time I want to pick some up! Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

The prosciutto sandwich was okay, but unfortunately, it was really salty. I'm not sure if it was the particular cut of meat, but I've made prosciutto sandwiches at home that weren't nearly as salty. It was also missing a sauce or at least some cheese to cut the saltiness of it. Was very plain and just had meat and arugula. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly astounding about the sandwich for me. The coffee crema, on the other hand, was delicious! My only issue was the price. The small was a very tiny portion, comparable in size to a small iced coffee from Tim Hortons, and between the sandwich and coffee, I paid around $20. For what I got, I personally didn't feel it was worth the price. That being said, the desserts and pastries all looked really good, so I would go back to try some other things. Based on this first visit, though, I wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to visit specifically for the sandwich or coffee. The staff was very helpful and friendly, however, so 5/5 for that. It can be a little overwhelming with all the options and we went at lunch time so it was more chaotic (to no fault of their own of course!), but staff was incredibly nice and patient with us.

I've had Super Baker bookmarked for a long time, but just forgot about it / the person I was with wasn't interested in going / wasn't in the area. Most of the time, I just forgot about it! I find that Filipino pastries/desserts tend to be on the sweeter side, and if you're unfamiliar with it, it may throw you off. The pastry was deliciously flaky, but even for the empanadas, I found it a tad sweet. (Even though they look similar, don't expect it to be like the Latin American ones.) This isn't my preference, but I'm not going to base my review on this. Aside from their empanadas, they're also known for their Hopias, which if you're Chinese, is a smaller, ball version of the Old Lady / Wife / Sweetheart "Cakes". Although, I never really liked this pastry, I can see the appeal. Hopias are offered in various flavours such as Winter Melon, Mung bean, & Ube. Gentleman who was helping me was very friendly, explained everything. Empanadas were $2, Hopias were just under that.

It looked like a place that has not changed in many decades- so it had a vintage vibe. During my visit, it was quite busy as it was just after 12 noon on Saturday. I read that this place has very good pastries, so that is what I decided to purchase. There were two friendly ladies working behind the counter, so I called one of them to ask for help. She informed me that each item is priced by weight, so after confirming the prices, I purchased three cannolis (three different flavours) and one cream-filled doughnut. Then she let me know that I can pay for them at the checkout close to the exit. After paying for the items, I brought them home to try with my husband. We enjoyed both items- however, if we had to pick our favourite, it would be the cannolis. The exterior was so crunchy (and very satisfying) and the filling was smooth and creamy. Each flavour had the right amount of sweetness to satisfy our cravings! The doughnut was good- it had the smooth and creamy custard filling, but the dough tasted a bit hard (so it was not as pillowly as we thought). The next time I am in the area, I look forward to checking out their other items. If you are in this area, support local and check out this family-owned bakery!

Unfortunately,…read morethe desserts have been disappointing and did not meet the same standard as the rest of the food. My biggest concern, however, is the customer service. The staff working in the food area appeared unfriendly and unwelcoming. During my visit, the employee at the deli handled my sliced mortadella carelessly, which came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. The cashier also lacked basic customer service skills--there was no greeting, no smile, and no "thank you" at the end of the transaction. I understand that everyone has difficult days, but customer-facing staff represent the business and set the tone for the customer experience. Good food can bring people in, but poor service can make customers think twice about returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in improving the overall customer service experience.
