Yenci, the owner of Sweet Home Cleaning is very sweet and I appreciate her efforts to start her own…read morebusiness. When I first interviewed Yenci, she informed me that she and 1 other person would do a "deep cleaning" of my house, spending 3-3.5 hours to clean and charge $171 (a discount from her normal $190 rate). After the initial deep cleaning, her biweekly charge would be $110. So, on the first visit, Yenci showed up alone, stating that her employee had called in sick. What I expected (but did not communicate to Yenci), was that since she came alone, the deep cleaning would take longer than the 3-3.5 hrs. That didn't happen. She worked 3.5 hrs. and left my house without cleaning a second bathroom, cleaning multiple mirrors, dusting around items; not cleaning/dusting open kitchen shelves or kitchen cabinet doors. Basically, no attention to detail. Prior to Yenci's second visit, I emailed and told her all of the above and hoped that her second visit would be better. On the second visit, again, no other employee and only Yenci cleaned for 3.25 hrs. Again, no attention to detail; some items were not cleaned or dusted, the open kitchen shelves were filthy; covers on couches where neither cleaned nor straighten. Listen, everyone can charge whatever they want; however, I am angry at myself for agreeing to pay $171 for a so-called deep cleaning and then again agreeing to pay another $110 for a regular so-so cleaning on a 1000 sq. ft. housed cleaned. That came out to $281 or $46 an hour, for 7 hours of house cleaning.

My home office / man cave / music studio flooded with the recent rains, and seeing it all with 4-6…read moreinches of water was heartbreaking. I had spent most of 2021 setting everything in there up, and one rainy morning it was all gone. I felt like I lost part of myself and had no idea if or when things would get back to the way they were. Servpro far, far exceeded all expectations. They were in there within 24 hours doing the remediation / cleanup because all the floors and drywall up to 3 feet had to be cut out. They carefully moved all my stuff to dryer areas and then dried and sanitized everything else so no mold could grow. Then they did the rebuild part, which consisted of installing new flooring, baseboards, painting and putting everything back together. All this and they were in contact with my insurance company to make things easier for us. When they say "like it never happened", they really mean it. Now that the work is done, it's almost like nothing happened--except I think the work they did was actually BETTER than the original work done in here! And they did all this great work in the rain and over the holiday week. Wow. Just wow! So I'm writing this from my new/old office just hours after they finished. When I saw the room back to the way it was, it almost brought me to tears. So happy these guys were there for us. Special props to Julio, Tony, Peter, Gilberto and Ivy from the main office! You should all be proud of the work you do because it makes a positive impact in real peoples' lives (like me)!

My home of 33 years in Pomona was last painted in 1993 (26 years ago). The stucco and eaves are…read morestill in surprisingly good condition, but the paint on the wood siding, wood trim and the steel casement windows was in very bad shape. There was a lot of peeling paint, even some bare wood and wood siding joints that needed renailing, filling, sanding and priming before painting. The steel casement, multi-pane windows all needed extensive rechalking. The condition of the paint was so bad that it had resulted a local code enforcement complaint. Compliance was postponed due to the extreme heat. I didn't want anyone working on my behalf in that heat. I posted a detailed description of the job on Yelp and they sent me three or four referals. Two sent me emails, but only Charlyn of Charlyn's Painting (Quality Painting Pro) sent me a follow up email a week later, asking if I was still interested in a quote. By then it was cooling down, so I replied that I was ready for a quote. Charlyn and her husband Oscar came out to give me a quote on 09/26/2019. We walked the property and discussed the details of the job. I immediately liked them both and realized that they were very professional, very enthusiastic about their family business and very serious about providing the best possible painting services. I also knew they understood that thorough preparation was the key to success on my painting project. Their quote was so well thought out and so reasonable that I didn't even think about haggling. When Charlyn asked me to think about it, I told her I didn't need to. I accepted their offer on the spot. But, a word of caution: Don't imply that you want the work to start right away unless that what you really want. Or, in my case, say that it would be nice, but not necessary to begin by the 30th of the month. I truely believe that Charlyn could and would move mountains to expedite the of the contract signing and the beginning of work even though (as I learned later) she was going to be out of town for five days. I really needed a few days and cooler weather to trim and tie back vegetation to allow better access to the house. This misunderstanding about the urgency of the job caused some fiction, but Charlyn and I amicably worked it out via a series of emails. Upon her return on Tuesday, 10/02/2019, we met, made minor revisions and signed the contract. Within 30 minutes of signing the contract, Oscar was pressure washing my house! I had done the work to give him and his crew better access to the areas to be prepared and painted. Also, the weather had cooled down to temperatures in the mid 70's. What a relief! On Wednesday and part of Thursday, Oscar and his crew of four efficient young men did all the preparation work. Beginning on Thursday and continuing through Friday, Oscar and his brother Alex did all the painting (two colors and two coats). All during the work Oscar was very responsive to my occasional questions and concerns and immediately corrected a couple of minor problems I had pointed out. Oscar and his crew showed up each morning when he said they would and cleaned up after themselves each evening. I am very pleased with the finished results. With the new roof I had installed last year and now the excellent paint work by Quality Painting Pro, I am certain that my house looks better and is better than when it was brand new in 1952! My sincere thanks to Charlyn, Oscar, Alex and the others who made this possible. I have already received compliments on the improved appearance of my home and I am certain the CE Officer will be happy, too! I asked Oscar for some of their business cards and I will definitely recommend their services to family, friends and to anyone who needs quality painting services.

After calling Greg to explain my problem, he gave me a number in which I could text him. I sent a few pictures and he asked me a few questions and gave me a couple of "tests" to perform to help him identify the problem. He came out the next morning and had my toilet fixed within about an hour. The best part is that he explained the problem and the solution he used to fix it. I may not have understood it all, but I appreciated it and it gave me some info to research and left me feeling confident that I wouldn't run into related issues down the line. Within a couple of days I gave him another call and referred him to my aunt's house. She had mid five figures worth of plumbing work done on her 100 year old house over the last few years and the new bid sounded way too high (again). Greg went out there and not only assessed the current situation but also looked over the previous receipts and confirmed that this company was severely overcharging her. When he called to let me know, I'd say he was even more pissed off about it than me, LOL! Greg is a good guy trying to make an honest living. He's easily well equipped to handle all of your typical household plumbing needs. I don't have too many plumbing issues (knock on wood), so I can't say how his prices compare to others, but I think you'll get competent, hard work at a fair price.
