Food:
~Tripe and pig's ear (4.5 stars): clearly, I'm a fan of the oft-neglected parts. Tripe was very tender, and the ears were just cartilage-y enough to give them a bit of a bite. Sauce was tomato-based, spicy, and very flavorful. The best part? A 1 lb container of it was only $5.
~I believe they also have a $5 combo meal, with a large take-out container filled with rice and beans and a choice of meat.
Wait time: none, as it is order and fill behind the counter.
Not much sitting area. Might as well take it to the space by the food carts and duane reade on York.
Great, inexpensive lunch, rare on the UES. read more
