We had them installed your garage in 2021. Called them on 1/30/2024 because of an error with the sensor. They came out and literally tilt the sensor upward and charging me $125. I felt that they could have helped their customers by telling me overphone to check the sensor alignment first. Such a ripped off for something they could help diagnose before sending out service and charging their customers. Please try to ask around for quotes first and avoid EOGD because they're definitely not helping their customers. read more

Scam company. Here's a picture of how door was left after "balancing". What's needed here is a recording of the noise of the "new" motor, or of the Genie factory telling me the motor is actually over 2 years old, presented as new, or a recording of they owner refusing to give us an opener, then saying "Ok, we'll be out this week" - over 2 months ago. Or maybe a recording of the nice secretary who answers the phone repeating "I will pass your message" and a 2 month silence that follows. Or maybe a picture of the mess they left. I called EOGD about an issue with my garage door and within a few hours the tech came. He spent thoughtful time troubleshooting the problem, rewired the contacts to the opener that had been poorly installed about a year ago by a competitor. The best garage door installation and repair company. The owner ? Moses came in the morning after the day before on the phone with him for the appointment for estimate on installation two car garage door. He came at 11 am to get the measurements and then he told he would get back to me in the afternoon . I said fine and he told me the earliest he could have it installed would be in a couple days or might be next Monday or Tuesday. While I was driving to get a bite 2 hours after the estimate around 1:30 pm on the day he called to let me know that his employees would be in my place in half hour to start the installation. I was so elated and ran home to wait for them to show up. Long and behold they show up in exactly 30 minutes later. The employees names I only know one of them is called Thomas but the other one I did not catch it for my stupidity. But both of them are a joy to watch them and they worked in concert and harmoniously just like watching 3 stooges but only 2 are present. They finished the job in about 3 hours and the end result is beautiful and the garage door runs smoothly. I highly recommend Escondido Overhead Garage door company. read more

After a year of opening and closing my garage door by hand I finally called to get the new motor. They came recommended from a neighbor and raved about them (Jackie G.) I called them, and they quickly had someone come out to look at it. They will try to repair before they replace. Unfortunately mine was dead, and they needed to replace it. They said they could come out the next business day, unfortunately I work, and they don't work on weekends - not to worry, They kept the appointment I left my gate unlocked and when I got home WOO HOO I had a new motor, my gate was locked back up 2 new openers instruction books and several warning stickers. I only did business with them bc they're a subcontractor of Lowe's, meaning if you want Lowe's to install your garage opener, they'll be sending THIS pathetic excuse of a company. Just a FEW of of the things they pulled: - We paid for an estimate and they refused to give it to us? Said they needed it for their official records. Why not just write it down on a regular piece of paper so we can have a copy? - Said it would cost $370 ish to do the work - other companies said around $220. - Asked Lowe's to get a copy of the estimate so we know what we're paying for but even THEY couldn't get one from them. Suspicious, much? - Called Escondido Overhead again and the woman (wife of owner? Tim is the original owner) and said they wouldn't do business with us because we were bothering them!!!! We asked them like 2 times! - Weeks later, we make an appointment anyways because Lowe's got involved and now suddenly, the cost is only $270ish! - Installed the parts and it turns out that the parts were OLD! Not necessarily used but definitely old, dirty, and had RUST. The thing is, they made us wait a whole week because they had to order new parts! - Called them out and they gave us different excuses each time. "Oh, it was in the truck while it rained'. How often does it rain in San Diego? And how hard is it to put a tarp over? - Lowe's tried to take care of it and made them come again to replace the parts (their employee came and confirmed the parts weren't new like they said). when they came, they brought 2 different sized springs? Called other people and they all said thats not safe to do. Even the installer from their company confirmed. - When we called, they dismissed the whole thing, said "I don't understand what you're saying" to my Korean-American mother (implying her accent was too difficult to understand eventhough Lowes understood her just fine), etc. - Week later, they finally said they would replace the springs with proper ones but JUST the springs, not all the other old parts they installed. - ONLY agreed to do everything once we told them that we took pictures of everything and sent it to Lowe's and their district manager. Then the came the very next day! So many things they said/tried to pull are too suspicious to dismiss. Not only that, the owners were insanely rude, condescending, and indifferent. The fact that they tried to replace the old springs they installed with ones that didn't even fit? Come on! Don't waste your time with them. These guys are not friendly at all. They don't care that you are in the military and can't just take time off of work. Well i requested for time off to get these guys in to install my garage opener and they had every excuse to not install my opener. They sprung a hidden charge on me that wasn't discussed with when i signed the contract with lowes. After finally getting it straightened out, the installer sees that i have a storage rack attached to my ceiling and it was in the way of the opener. I explained to him that i would remove it and it would only take 10 mins since i didn't have much stuff. By this time it was already 1:30pm and he didn't want to do the work anymore. He didn't care that it was hard for me to get time off from work and kept explaining that i will have to reschedule. I spoke to his boss, and she was trying to get me to reschedule but they will not work past 3:30pm. They don't work on saturdays, so i just told them theirs no way we can work something out then cause they stop work so early, and i don't get off till 4pm. These people are lazy and unpatriotic. I think they are devastated that the US Navy killed Bin Laden and is taking it out on me. read more

Late Friday afternoon, the "carriage" on my Genie garage door opener split, and my door no longer opened unless I put it in the Manual mode. I called my builder's rep, and he told me where to reach the installer on my almost-3 year old home. But he also said the warranty was only for a year; that this opener is no longer in production; and the parts for it are unavailable. (I actually found the part on eBay for only $18.) Because it was now after 5 p.m. on Friday, I emailed the owner of the business (EOGD) and described my problem. I planned on calling him Monday to follow up on my email. However, he responded to my email very early in the morning, before I had a chance to call him. He also left me a voice mail saying he had a crew in my area today and would have them stop by. I called him back, and we worked out a time for them to come by. He told me that it was not an expensive part, but the job was labor intensive because it meant taking the opener apart and putting the chain thru the two channels on either side of the replacement carriage that moved along the track. GROAN!! When his two-man crew arrived, they quickly confirmed that it was a broken carriage which should not have happened in such a short amount of time. After a quick phone call to their boss, they offered to simply trade out my entire chain/rail assembly for a new one. Fast, efficient, and brand new parts for only $100!! I must say that what I had dreaded as a real headache was resolved in about 20 minutes simply because EOGD offered me amazing customer service at a very discounted price. I am so impressed with them that I will definitely continue to do any garage-door related business with them, including likely replacing a solid upper panel with one that has windows. I contacted this company to come and fix my safety beam for my garage door opener. I've repaired it in the past, so I know what I was asking for. The tech showed up before I got there, so he had time to check it out. When I got there he proceeded to tell me how my springs are too rusted and my rollers are getting old and this will wear out the motor within 6 months. I asked about the safety beams. He said they were bad and needed to be replaced as well. This is why I called them to begin with. He proceeded to tell me it would be $1100 to fix all the problems. I politely told him no thank you let's just look at the sensors. He began to lecture me on how it makes no sense to fix just that when everything else could go to crap soon. I told him not to worry about it. He then gave me an estimate of $399 to replace the $39 sensors. $149 for the parts and a flat rate of $250 to install. I told him never mind. I told him I would give him $50 for the service call. He told me it made no sense to pay $50 and not have the work done and I was being a fool. I then told him I was done having him lecture and insult me and he should leave my garage. He again told me I was being stupid and would probably end up hiring a handyman who wouldn't be licensed and insured and probably screw it up. I again told him to get out of my garage. He took one step out of the garage and turned to me and said "now I'm out of your garage". At this point I am furious! I told him now get in your truck and get out of my driveway (after I paid the $50). He said "no, I have to call my boss". I told him I was going to get my pistol and he should probably leave before I got back. He left. His boss, who said he was one of the owners, called me to ask what happened. I told him his guy was out of line and completely disrespectful throughout the entire meeting. He apologized of course...but offered no relief. The boss called me back again and said his tech said there was nothing wrong with the safety beams. So I asked "why would he want to charge me $399 to replace them then?" The boss had no answer. The boss called me again 15 minutes later saying his tech called and cant' get out of my driveway because my car is in the way. Another lie. That tech left the minute I went for my pistol. Horrible experience and I plan to share it everywhere I can! read more

I needed a $20-25 plastic part to my garage door and had trouble finding it on the Internet as everyone seemed to be out of stock on this older item. I made a few local calls and this company said they had it. I ran over to buy it and because they knew this part was practically non-existent, they added a surreal premium and asked for $65.00. I protested and they came down to $45.00. I got it and fixed my garage door, but this is not the type of ethics I want when doing business. The part is probably a temporary fix for a few more years. I purchased a new garage door motor for my parents and I promised them I'd make sure it was installed properly. My parents are disabled and they need to use the garage as their primary entry/exit because it is safer with their wheelchairs. I purchased the motor at Lowe's and paid for their installation through one of their contractors. I was initially pleased because the installation only cost $120 through Lowe's and this is less than it would of cost me to pay one of the guys from our construction company to do it. The gentleman called within a couple of days to schedule the install for 12/23/15 in the morning. I informed him that I was hoping for something sooner and he managed to get it scheduled for the following afternoon. This really made me want to be a fan of this company, but sadly I was let down because not only did they not show up at the time they said they would be there, but they abruptly left because the box for the motor was open. First of all, neither Lowe's nor Escondido Overhead told me they couldn't install if the box was open, but in addition they had the audacity to say that there parts missing. I opened the box myself and I placed our garage door clicker inside the box to see if it can be programmed at the time of installation. I feel that is a reasonable explanation. My brother who was here at the time told them the same thing and they even spoke to my father and he again told them the same thing. They left without even checking. So I receive a phone call from their office and he informs me of this, I don't get upset because I felt the gesture of them coming so promptly was admirable and I accepted the fact that they could not come until the original appointment date of 12/23/15. Fast forward to today, 12/21/15, I get a phone call to confirm my morning appointment for tomorrow. I didn't have an appointment until Wednesday, which messes with my plans a little bit, but it's a day ahead so I didn't bother mentioning it. What I did mention was that I inspected the box and nothing was missing. I informed him that I opened the box to place the garage door clicker in there. I said that in my opinion his crew that came out didn't want to install it that day and decided to leave instead, using the open box as a reason. This upset this man like I could not believe and he instantly said he would call Lowe's to assign to another contractor. I work in construction management and a response like that isn't acceptable, especially when you are representing a large general contractor like Lowe's. Anyone with reasonable business experience would want feedback like that and at most I would have been satisfied with an apology, but instead he decided to argue about something with no real significance. I've had crews do similar things and I've been chewed out by clients. As professionals we apologize on behalf of our crews and we move on, but that didn't happen here. So I moved on from the subject and agreed that I would return the motor to Lowe's for an unopened one per their policy. He confirmed the appointment for 8AM and was going to wrap up the call, before I asked if that would be right at 8AM. He then said no, that it was a window between 8AM and 11AM, that no one could show up right at 8AM. This, in my opinion, is important information to disclose because I would have been waiting at the house frustrated that no one showed up on time. I also have things to do during my day, so scheduling is very important to me. I responded that I manage to get to my clients at the time I promised without significant effort and it isn't unreasonable to expect promptness. I have had clients that are 3 hours away, but our crews manage to get their on time. It's a matter of leaving earlier to anticipate traffic conditions. All of this must have really frustrated this man because he decided that he was going to tell Lowe's to assign me to someone else. I've waited two weeks for this install for my disabled parents and they cancel 1 day before because they don't have an appreciation for feedback. Now Lowe's tells me that they won't be able to get a contractor right away. Please be wary about working with this company because they can't grow professionally without hearing and responding to feedback. read more

Found the original receipt of roll up doors purchased here by prior homeowner back in 1989, so to go back again in 2011 for a measly $25 purchase of vert. door cable to replace existing shredded. This time (2017) one of the garage springs snapped, so needed to be replaced, however original receipt didn't list door model info., and the broken springs were unreadable. With vital info. missing, the Owner Masood Bagheri gave me over an hour of his precious time doing various calculations to figure out exactly what size springs were needed, and was also kind enough to let me pick his brain on several operational aspects of these garage doors. In today's day and age, where it's hard to get the time of day from anyone anymore, especially when time is money............. it was refreshingly fantastic to be treated with such service........ it felt as if I were placing an order for several thousands of dollars of doors, yet I wasn't. From the outset, Masood knew the max. sale was a pair of springs - pittance worth. When the doors do finally give out on me, I know exactly where I'll be going to purchase my new ones.............. this was THE best customer service a person could ever wish for........... Each time the owner Marsood and his wife promised to call back for a technician for repair but never receive a return call from them. My neighbor had the same problem with their garage and response.
