GM Garage Doors was very responsive in the beginning. He came out quickly and gave a decent price. His price was $10 cheaper than the bigger garage door companies. He was the first one available to replace the garage door springs. He looked at the springs but didn't have all the parts. He left, came back, and replaced the 2 springs in a timely manner. I paid him cash and he confirmed he would send a receipt with 1 year warranty to my phone and/or email. I have reached out to him numerous times since and he has yet to answer my calls, text, or yelp messages. Sadly feel like a quick money grab vs a customer relationship for future work. I've used this company for 10 years. I first contacted William when I bought my home and the garage doors wouldn't open because the motor was old. He let me know that the whole system would need to be repaired eventually but he thought that just doing the garage door opener for now would work and be the cheapest option. William answered my call on a Sunday and told me he could send someone to fix my gate on Monday. He referred someone independent from his company to come fix my gate. There was a little bit of miscommunication because his gate repair referral never told me there would be a charge for coming out. I understand you can't just look at a gate and see what's wrong but I assume there are some companies that don't charge to diagnose. I was never made aware that there would be a charge and was unwillingly stuck with an $80 charge without any notice or anything in writing. Even when I explained that I wasn't told there would be a charge and that I specifically asked William about that ahead of time, the gate repairman insisted that he should be paid. Anyway, William responded to my concerns and we came to an agreement that I would pay for half. Moral of the story is that if you ever get a referral for a repair/service from another business, always check with the referral about the price. Wow! Superior Quality Garage Doors is the way to go!!! My garage door rail bent on one side and the cable came loose so I had to call for a repair immediately. I had another company out to give me a quote on their repair service, which was a $30 service call, and then proceed to quote me $775, then $700, then $450, then $250, then call their supervisor to quote me $220 for a non-warrantied repair. This was just crazy!!! Three sales men and a fourth over the phone with the hard sell. Not gonna happen! I gave then their $30 service call and they walked out of my house with their backs to me very mad. Now, William is honest, friendly and very knowledgeable about garage door repair and products. He gave it to me straight with a free estimate (NO SERVICE CALL CHARGE)! I got my garage door fixed for a great deal and will use William again and again! I found him on Craigslist and was able to negotiate a price which did NOT include a weekend charge. This review is long over due. During the massive SoCal power outage, my door collapsed. I had to leave my garage door open and my house is connected to the garage. It was the weekend and everyone was telling me it was going to be 2-3 days before they could even come out to give an estimate! Finally I found Superior Quality Garage Doors and I was able to tell them the exact door I needed. However, my biggest problem was being present while the door was being replaced. The biggest surprise was they said they would come out and check my door, do the install all without me being there... and they would collect the payment later!!! How incredible is that! I came home from work that day and there was a brand new garage door installed and working perfectly. I gave them a call and they came back to my house to pick up the check. No hidden fees. They charged me exactly what they promised over the phone. I haven't seen service like that in years. Their prices are definitely comparable and maybe even slightly lower, but the service... the service is without a doubt the BEST and I so wish other people would do service like this.
