We did the runaway subway train as a group of 6 in about 30 minutes. It was fairly easy, but the game host was also constantly giving hints to us. The game host was really nice and fun, though! The game itself was cool, and it did interact like a moving subway train. For the game price ($219; about $42/person) it wasn't all too worth it to us since we were all pretty smart and solved it a bit too quick. We purchased a Groupon for a one hour VR experience on a whim and could not have been more pleased!! We ended up purchasing an additional VR escape after we were done. We had so much fun!! I randomly got an email about this place and glad I checked it out. So much fun. The VR Goblin escape room is amazing. I just wish it had a few more levels and lasted longer! It was really easy but so much fun. My siblings and I loved it so much we ended up doing an escape room right after and a few other games while there. read more

Make sure you call before hand if you have a NY Pass. They won't let you do anything that's actually cool. Only one machine. If you try to cancel your reservation, they charge 10$ per person even if you have the NY Pass. read more

It was okay. The staff was very friendly but the experience was just okay. We did the Goblin Adventure so that our group could all play together. The experience was again, just okay and unfortunately the equipment was having issues so it took a long time to get started. The system was also glitching while we were playing. Recently visited for my sons 12th birthday party. I was definitely impressed. Kids had an amazing time. My wife and I had a great time. Staff was very respectful and helpful. We had an autistic child with us and they catered to him as one of their own and I highly appreciate that. We will be definitely returning and I recommend for adults and or kids parties. read more

Visited a few weeks ago had an explorer pass that was going to go to waste so decided to give this place a try. The staff was very helpful. The limited games we got to play with our explorer pass were still very enjoyable from the racing to walk the wire. read more

My sister got my kids gift cards to this place for Christmas. At first I was annoyed that we'd have ti go into the city (we love in NJ) but this place was totally the worth the trip. From my first phone call, where the rep answered all my questions and suggested the perfect experience for my family with kids ranging from 8 to 16, everything went perfectly. The staff on site were professional and friendly. The place was clean and not at all crowded and they observed all social distancing guidelines. The game we played Goblin Quest was fun and just the right level of challenge and fun gif our family (even though we failed to escape!). And the VR games we played after our escape room adventure were fun too! read more

Thanks to the wonderful staff Michael. He made our first experience here great. He explained the games thoroughly. He was very knowledgeable n patient. I gave 4 stars because one of the games were down when we went so my partner and I had to take turns one one of the games. Other than that it was a experience and everyone should try this place. Overall experience was a big disappointment. Had a little time to kill before drinks so wanted to book an escape room. We booked the ghost escape room last minute because the time it was supposed to start was 2:45pm. We arrived at Escape Virtuality about 10 minutes prior to start and did the online waivers so we would be ready to go. When we arrived, there was a sign outside that said 50% off everything. Walk-ins only. Bummer we didn't just walk over for our last minute game instead of booking before we arrived. Oh well. After arriving, an older gentleman who was helping someone strapped into a VR machine asked if we needed help and we told him we booked an escape room online and he was like okay and went back to helping that individual. We walked over to the desk and no one was there. We waited for a little while and finally the same man came over and told us to have a seat and we would be set-up in a few minutes. We waited... and waited. After about 15 minutes or 5 minutes past when we were supposed to start, I approached a younger gentleman working there and informed him that we were supposed to start at 2:45pm and it was past that time. He apologized and said someone didn't show up for work and they were short-staffed but would try to get us started as soon as possible. I sat down and as we waited, a young woman walked by us and into a room. When she came back out after changing, we learned she was to be our room guide and she led us up to our escape room. After a brief intro, she led us into the room and we started. Me and my companion have done several escape rooms and overall, the puzzles here were average. They weren't terribly complicated. What I think this location has over other places is that they had many visual experiences, which helped with the plot but also got a little boring when you're standing around watching something and not doing anything. Why 1 Star? Without trying to give anything away, there was one puzzle we needed to complete that was to provide us with the tools we needed for 2 other steps before finishing. We performed the tasks for the puzzle at least 20 times combined and finally our game guide told us to ignore it and focus on a different one. We went over to that one and solved it when she entered the room and said that we completed the puzzle correctly but that the electronic mechanism didn't seem to be working. She tried several times to do a 'reset' to manually unlock it and that didn't work. She then told us we pretty much got everything else and won. Very anti-climatic. After some time, the young man we talked to previously came in and was able to unlock the puzzle. He said that it was based on something that wasn't something any participant would have known. Once he got the clues, he showed us the next step and then the one thereafter which included a key. Well, the key didn't seem to work and he wasn't able to unlock it. Finally we said screw it and he asked if we had any questions about the room other than the pieces that didn't work. We said no and the young woman said we'll I hope you guys had fun. No apologies, no refund or partial refund, no offer to come back and try the other room comped or any of their VR. It's one thing if you don't get out of a room but for it to not work after getting to the end is a disappointment and to add insult to injury, management didn't seem to care. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and won't be back. read more

This review is for the escape room, Ghost Collector. After doing 70+ escape rooms across the country, this has to be the WORST of them all. We went with 2 first timers and wanted to introduce them to the world of escape rooms. To say the least, they weren't impressed. First, the customer service was mediocre, at best. We arrive about 15 minutes early and filled out the standard waiver. The person who helped us (which I don't know his name because he never introduced himself) seemed busy and told us we would be starting right at 9pm, the time we booked the room for. 9pm rolls around and we get walked up to the room by the same person, who is also are game master. We get there and normally at other escape rooms, we get an introduction, which includes safety, what to expect, how to get hints if we get stuck on something, and a little synopsis of the reason we're going into the room and trying to escape. Not this time. Our introduction, without paraphrasing, was, "Here's the room. You have an hour to escape. Don't use physical force. Ghosts have escaped and you have to capture them. Good luck." Thanks. Second, the room. Where do I begin with this mess. We enter the room and it actually looks okay. Our game master closes the door behind us without saying anything, so we were assuming we would get an audio clue to start. We waited about 5 minutes, until something finally happened in the room. Without giving much away, it was a random ghost that showed up on a screen and disappeared. We were a little confused with that and we took that as we can start looking around. Once we actually started, another worker came into our room and stated, "That was actually supposed to happen later in the game when you solve something, and it was a technical glitch." We were ok with that, thinking that was the only mishap we'd hit. We were wrong (he entered our room again at another time thinking we were done, but we weren't. SMH.) Once that gentleman left, we noticed we had access to another part of the room. We tried to ask our gamemaster through the cameras in our room if that was supposed to happen, but no response. After contemplating, we just went into the room and that was where most of the puzzles were at. Third, the puzzles fit the room, but there was one particular one that they really need to change. Again, without giving much away, we get a key to open a cabinet, but don't know where it goes. We ask for a hint and he says to try it on the cabinet at the bottom. There are 2 identical cabinets next to each other, so we open the first one. Inside are the mechanical/electrical workings of another puzzle. The gamemaster comes on the speaker again and says to try it on the other one. We did, and we solved that puzzle. Probably might want to change that or put tape on things that you don't want people to open. I could go on for another 10 paragraphs explaining our bad experience, but I'll stop here. Overall, this escape room left a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be coming back. read more

For our company retreat, we did the Galaxy Rooms, which turned out great! We had 14 people so we split into 2 teams and raced to escape. It was great to not have too many people in the game but still compete with the entire team since everyone had the same experience. The team had a great time! read more

I am giving Escape Virtuality 2 stars for our experience with their 'Ghost Collector' room and their customer service. My friends and I were looking forward to doing an escape room for months, so a Thanksgiving reunion at Escape Virtuality seemed like the perfect place to go! At first, our experience was exceptional! The booking process was easy and changing our reservation time was easy to do; Bridget answered the phone and did a phenomenal job! As someone who spent many years in the customer service role, I appreciate someone who can provide fast, respectful, informative, and clear service. This is why it was extremely disappointing to have such a poor experience in the actual room itself. Our room did not start on time, resulting in a very rushed introduction. At all the escape rooms I have been to, the introduction begins once all members of the escape room party--whether it's a mix group or a private room. The introduction includes waivers, safety precautions, a story line introducing us to the room, a way to communicate with the moderator, and an official "you can begin". For the 'Ghost Collector', the story line was fairly weak; basically, we were told that we were capturing ghosts. Additionally, there was no room to leave our belongings. Most locations have lockers. We had to leave our bags and coats around the room. When the game began, we were unaware that our time had begun until someone noticed the countdown clock on the wall. About 20-minutes into the game, most of the puzzles were solved except for one. While we did not know this at the time, the solution our group first tried was the correct solution. For the next 40-minutes, we were focused on this puzzle, repeatedly being told hints that only led us back to the first solution we tried. Normally, we would radio/call the operator for a specific hint, but there seemed to be no way to talk to the operator for any reason--even to repeat hints. We simply had to wait. After the game, we were told that we had the right solution all along. We were also told that the moderator was also operating a few other games at the same time. When the moderator reset the game and noticed that it was a technical error, we were told that we technically got out and looked like we had a fun time. Firstly, the point of an escape room is to have the thrill of solving every puzzle, completing the story line, and unlocking the door. We were disappointed regardless, even if we technically got out. Secondly, when a complication occurs, many places will offer a voucher, refund, or discount. Instead, we were told something along the lines of "It looked like you guys still had a good time though. Have a good day." It ruined the remainder of the night; instead of jokes about how we missed the solution to the obvious puzzle or a celebration, our spirits were dull. read more
