I went here about two or three times, and it was fun. They have a great selection of games you can book on their website. Definitely recommend anyone who wants to find something fun to play with friends and family. It is also a great place for children to play with their families. This was the most frustrating waste of money. Use your funds to buy a Switch and stay home. We did Sandbox VR and that was epic - another better option. The space is too small for a group of more than two people to move around. Even with two people you keep ramming into each other because of how the games are designed. The video was messed up and we "fell" in game even when there were no holes in the floor. We kept hoping it would stop sucking and it just got worse with the Floor is Lava. The game design meant we couldn't all play at once even though there was a time limit for all three player to finish. My kid stopped halfway through and just didn't want to play any more...I mean, that tells you everything. Note that the game doesn't project on the floor (which they do in Sandbox) so it also doesn't feel fully immersive. So between the overall design and the failed technology, it was a fail. Please note that the staff was great. They were accommodating and told us we should have just let them know sooner. We just thought maybe it would get more fun, and couldn't have predicted the glitchy tech. read more

Came here on a cold Saturday afternoon for an hour and a half of gaming. When we got there, the staff helped us set up and sanitized the room so everything was nice and clean. Threw the kids in the room to have fun and play games - there were multiple options - angry birds, escape rooms and many more. Kids had a ball whilst parents stayed outside catching up. You get your own private glass game room with interactive walls, and you're able to choose from an assortment of different games you can play. We also did the floor is lava, which was really fun. They do have drinks available, which you can buy throughout the gaming and it's added to your tab at the end. First impressions don't always matter. The rooms are suitable for up to four people, include a baseball type hat that conducts and tracks your movement, while three walls are interactive. Drink holders, hooks for items you didn't leave in the free and lockable lockers and a very handy phone mount to record your activity. We experienced the Batman game and thoroughly enjoyed it. Takes a little getting used to but easy to pickup. You can even order drinks at a couple of moments in the game and the team will drop them off, adding them to your bill at the end. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and booked for a 30 minute game of the floor is lava. The game was definitely lots of fun and very interactive. My only critique would be that it's for ages 7+. I think the age should be a little bit higher or there should be a caveat that 7 year-olds need to have thick skin, mainly because the game taunts you when you make mistakes and many children are not used to that. My son enjoyed the game, but did not appreciate being taunted and found it discouraging. The location was very easy to get to from the train station, and the staff was very friendly and explained everything clearly. The games are very interactive and can be a little confusing at first but feel free to ask the staff for help! There's a little decal on the glass doors also that tells you to enter in a different entrance but ignore that and just pull on the doors hard to enter. They also serve drinks and food however, I highly suggest you get them before or after the game since everything is timed. This is definitely a great idea for a business. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded. I like how there are free lockers to store your stuff but they didn't have enough for every group, some groups were looking around and waiting for a locker to open. I didn't expect the staff to be so not involved and laid back, you have to guide yourself through all of this and take it upon yourself to ask questions. I'm used to other immersive experiences or escape type rooms that have a staff walk you through everything quickly before you start. It would have been nice if that was the case here, it was pretty chaotic when you walk in. There is really nothing high tech about this place, it's just four white walls and a projector and a camera. I was expecting more for $45 a person. Most groups where playing the IP games like black mirror, Tetris and squid game. Maybe we would have liked it more if we chose one of those. We did psychedelic mansion. I think it would have been better for a family. Also the headsets way down on your head and hurt towards the end of the game. We were all left branded with an indentation on our forehead. The graphics were pretty cool in the beginning in the intro but once you get into gameplay it was pretty basic. The word bomb game and the puzzle one were the most fun. I liked how pairs took turns to complete the game but they should have mixed up the pairs so you get to work with someone new each time. When you fail a game the SFX is so loud it blew my ear drums even though we had the setting down low. The games were very repetitive. When the hour was over it just stopped, no warning. We did have fun, but it wasn't the most fun we had at a game experience before. Maybe I was holding this place to too much high standards. You can purchase drinks and they will bring to your box but for 60 min I don't want to be distracted with a drink. Outside the boxes there are some tables and chairs and one bathroom in the back. Would I go again? No, unless it was a work expensed thing. It's just way too expensive for what you get. I rather stay at home and play my VR headset or another game with my friends. read more

Very clever idea!! A surprisingly roomy venue. I would come here with friends for a birthday party or special occasion, but perhaps not something to do on a regular day. I will say that the prices are probably similar to how much going to a movie would cost, though, so it could be a worthy alternative on a rainy day. I was able to bring friends to this event through the Yelp elite promo and we did the black mirror and squid games activities. We also had a round of free drinks, which I'm not sure if that's standard. The space is probably best for a group of 4 in terms of how many people can comfortably fit in each box, even though you can have up to 6 ppl. The setup uses a head sensor (sensor that you wear like a hat), so you as a person act as the remote control rather than this being a VR experience. Basically the direction you walk in is the way to control your avatar. It should be noted that the volume is really loud at first, but there's a settings pad that you can touch to adjust. I saw a few reviews complaining about this, so I think it would be helpful to explain it to customers before they start. There are some levels that are single player (you have to go one at a time, which is another reason 4ppl max might be best) and others where you're on teams. It would be nice if you were able to pick the teams, though, or have them automatically switch every level. None of us had seen squid games but recognized the activities. Even so, it was still fun, although I think the optics of that one could make ppl a bit nauseous. There was one level (using the knife to trace shapes) that seemed a bit too sensitive and thus too hard to progress through. The black mirror games were really fun and not nauseating. My least favorite one was the level with the bouncing balls, though. One game is more than enough--I think doing the combo of two games could be a bit overkill/tiring after some time. Overall, glad I tried this, not sure I would come back as a daily activity but definitely would for a special event (similar to axe throwing perhaps) read more

The room itself was surprisingly great - I had gone in with the expectation that it would be built for kids and as a result trivially easy, but in reality the mini games were challenging and very fun. I also completed the Black mirror careers room, which felt more consistent. Our visit was part of a Yelp event, which meant we each got a free drink as well. This was a great time, but I'd still consider the price for a bit steep. My biggest/only complaint is that the sensors seemed a bit too jumpy -- lots of rounds people couldn't even play since they got immediately eliminated due to the sensitivity of the headbands. read more

My friends and I decided to try the Squid Game option and it was very fun. The idea is that you put on these hats with motion detector sensors and you complete different challenges that also appear in Squid Games. Here are some of my favorite things from that experience: - I appreciate that the game was very easy to set up and maneuver around and we didn't need any help from the front desk which is nice. - I really liked the beginning challenges in this series, especially with Dalgona and Red Light Green Light as those were genuinely very difficult. - The idea of controlling the mouse on your head was also very different and I appreciate that it was very sensitive and accurate to your movement. - Something radically different than other experiences in New York as most of the time when you hang out with friends, at least for me, you're just constantly eating. - And of course, thank you for the free experience and free drink Yelp! Thanks to Immersive Gamebox and Yelp collaboration, I was able to bring five other family members to experience this type of immersive game experience. Pros I definitely think it's a cool idea. The fact that it is themed (we did ghostbusters, the most popular theme is Squidgame) and you are being interactive with your loved ones. It was fun outing for a whole family where you get your own space and you are able to work together to complete tasks. Our game required cooperation of at least two people at a time. At the end of each round, everyone would need to huddle together to defeat the ghost monster. Because you are moving around a lot, you will get an exercise out of this. In short, get ready to sweat. Cons Don't bring kids!! Ok, maybe depends on the kid(s) you bring. But our little one was very frustrated and often got scared because everything was coming at her all at once. It was fast and she was a bit overwhelmed too. The hat sensors are awkward and sometimes it requires a lot of head movements to a point at objects. Most of us get a little light headed afterwards. I do wish they were hand tools instead. The space can also get very tied b/c it is a small squared box. It can feel claustrophobic if you have a big group of people. read more

My friends and I came here after work and had so much fun!!! The best way to describe it is like a giant Wii game? You wear a visor with a sensor on it and the walls of the room you are in is an interactive screen. My advice is that the company should really give you more direction about what you're going to be doing. Even a 1 min intro video or in person explanation of the game would be helpful. We were having fun but extremely confused at what to do for the first 30 min. Also, wear loose and comfortable clothing because you're moving around a lot and breaking a sweat. I wore a sweater and was so hot!!! Overall this was so much fun. We did the Psychedelic Mansion game with 4 people and it was perfect. Immersive Gamebox was the perfect family friendly activity for my sisters birthday in the city. She wanted to play VR, but our mom is prone to optical migraines so we thought this would be a good compromise - and it was! We opted for The Floor is Lava (because it was the shortest game at 30 minutes). The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even though we were a little late to our appointment, they didn't seem bothered. We filled out waivers, they showed us to our "gamebox" (or glass room) and instructed us to pick out a visor/headset. The visors were so goofy! The instructions were easy to follow, even though we weren't that great at the game. We had a ton of laughs. I loved that they had a spot for your phone to video yourself playing the game. They had drinks for sale too. I came here with five friends and we had a fantastic time. We played squid games which was quite challenging. Initially I thought I was going into a VR experience but this was quite different. Basically you go into a room where you have touch screens on three sides. Then you wear this visor that tracks your movement around the room. We all really enjoyed the experience. The games were challenging. We got better as we went along. You learn little tricks like keeping your head steady. Some people are naturals, some are not :) all of us agreed that we would come back to play because we enjoyed it so much. I would have to go over the reviews to see which other games to pick. Just like the show from Red Light, Green Light to the actual Squid Game, as a player you play ALL the games from the show, which was created and executed very well. How you ask? With the handy dandy head visor gadget, your moments are tracked, making this interactive and immersive in every way. It was 1 hour long and lots of effective communication and teamwork is necessary to do well. The little game visors on your head kept close monitoring of your movements and is quite sensitive so be careful with how you move (especially during Red Light, Green Light and the cookie game). Great place for fun group activities! I was here for a Yelp event and was put in a room with 5 others to play the Squid Games. Aside from the intense laughter and fun we had, the games themselves required some initial challenges and hurdles to get through. The "headset" was the main thing that controlled your movements on screen but it doesn't mean that your head does all the work...you have to move your feet and body to move your "character" on the screen. Some games required team collaboration while others were you against the computer (red light, green light). The game lasted an hour and was a fun way to "re-live" the games as we saw on the Netflix show. All in all this experience was extremely fun. That headgear will take you wear you want to go in the game. We played Squid Games which was a lot of fun and competitive. It also was tense at times. Don't pick the #1 head gear because you're the Guinea pig for each game and learning and failing on everything first. Your opponents can see all your mistakes and learn how to play the game watching your first. We played Tetris first but we quickly realized we didn't like it.
