My friend and I did the sculpture without sight class and it was so interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't that. Despite the blindfolds, it's easy to feel and sculpt (albeit not great). The music and the incense help eat the mood and ambiance. The woman who was our "guide" was super great and funny. This was a really fun experience and would do it again. Would recommend to others.

What an experience! Decided to do a date night with my husband and we both really enjoyed ourselves. Loved the letter to yourself when we were welcomed in. Great way to kick off the evening. Also appreciated that they offered wine and Prosecco! I really enjoyed being able to slow down, connect to myself and use my sense of touch to create art without sight. I would do this again and again and again as there are so many possibilities.

My husband brought me here as a surprise for my birthday last year, and what a surprise it was! We came for the sculpt-without-sight class. You're in for an exceptional, emotional, enjoyable and all around unique experience at Unarthodox. I had no idea what to expect when we walked in - it was a bunch of bald clay heads, folding chairs, smocks and dim lights. They have beer and wine for purchase, or you can stick with water or soda - it's all available. The music was probably the most moving, especially being blindfolded. I went in with a certain vision before putting on my blindfold, but as the music continued and I had to rely solely on my senses, it took me down memory lane and I ended up sculpting something entirely different. I am pretty sure I even cried at some point. I highly recommend this for everyone! It's definitely something worth experiencing at least once. I know I am definitely looking forward to going back again.

I had a super fun experience painting on the weekend with my friend at unarthodox. Highly recommend for those looking for unique things to do in nyc.

This was a fresh and fun thing to do for date night! We took a "sculpting without sight" class and Sarah was the best & funniest instructor. I love the background music and aroma therapy smells while doing the sculpting. They had beer and wine available to purchase as well!

I celebrated my birthday at Unarthodox as a private event. It was a very fun night! My guests loved it. We did blindfold sculpting and it was a very relaxing and almost therapeutic. Our hosts, Alex and Sara, were friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this experience. I also liked that it was personalized for me. I think there were some miscommunication in booking the private event, booking online would be easier (not private) and you have the open bar to drink before the event. As a private event, and having some guests who don't drink, the open bar option was too expensive for me to consider.

What an amazing experience I surprise my fiancé on date night Art without sight, it's located in an area that have enough parking. A building in the 3floor When we arrived there was a very friendly host, she guided us to our seat. The host Jake and Alex was so amazing The entire experience technically last for 1 hour You don't get to take your sculpture home During the experience, you have to be blindfolded And they play relaxing music through the entire experience. I highly recommend it for anyone who trying to experience something new and different

Drinks, laughs, intimate lighting and...mud? Count me in! It's wintertime in NYC and safe entertainment feels hard to come by as we all go through the latest COVID wave with Omicron. Thankfully, Unarthodox offers a great opportunity for folks to have a unique immersive blindfolded sculpting experience during these challenges times, and it's much appreciated. From the check-in to leaving the door, everything about the experience was welcoming and fun. When you get in, they check your vaccination card and let you place your coats on hangers. They bring you to a table and then the person taking your orders happens to also be the lead for the experience, Nick. The drink selection is very limited (wine, sodas, and maybe three beers). You only get one opportunity to get a drink, so order two if that's your jam. The actual sculpting bits were really fun. I usually feel uncomfortable doing anything blindfolded. But after a few minutes, I got really into it and had a great laugh during the 'peek a boo' moment. Another great aspect of the experience is that they take care of the photo taking for you. I was really happy with the photos they took. Highly recommend folks check this place out!

Had a great time Sculpting Without Sight. I arrived about 15 mins late and was worried I would have to reschedule but they still let me in. The sculpting time went by quicker than I expected. We started blindfolded then took our blindfolds down about half way through to access then continued blindfolded. The staff took plenty of great photos which we were able to download through Google photos the next day. 10/10!

My husband and I have attended two sessions at Unarthodox and really enjoyed both. One class was a night with Picasso and the other was blindfolded sculpting. The location is on the 3rd floor of a building. It's a nice size with good lighting, music and a clean bathroom. There are non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase and some events are BYOB. You are provided all art materials, in addition to an apron. There are also photo opportunities, and the studio will provide you with a link sent to your email with photos they take throughout your session. A Night with Picasso: It felt really intimate and I enjoyed having a theme to keep us inspired. We were there with two other couples. The person leading the session was a lot of fun and very encouraging. The painting experience was low pressure and the music helped with keeping flow/relaxation. The other painters were fun spirited and good companions, throughout the experience. Sculpture without Sight: This was my favorite of the two activities. The class was fully packed and the energy was great! The teachers leading the session were awesome and encouraging. I loved trying a new activity in an environment that felt safe from judgment and had good vibes. Despite being a guided and structured activity, there was room for creativity. Important to note: you will NOT be taking your sculpture home after the class is finished. Overall, I would love to take another class at Unarthodox. **The elevator on one of our visits didn't work. If you are someone who cannot take the stairs, this location may be inaccessible to you, since the elevator is not reliable. **If you are a larger person, the chairs are VERY flimsy. You can ask for a sturdier chair, but keep in mind that option isn't great either.

Such a fun experience! I went with one of my friends, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our time. They have an array of beverages you can choose from to purchase, and walk through the basic steps of sculpting. The experience was truly immersive, as once you're blindfolded music begins to play and scenes are released into the air. I would highly recommend this fun experience for any occasion!

    - staff was personable - instructor was clear and helpful - came for sculpting without sight ($68pp) - wine by the glass or bottle available for purchase as well as beer and prosecco - planned the evening for my friends birthday and he loved it - I have sensory issues so it was a little overwhelming for me but still an enjoyable experience that I would recommend for anyone looking to do something a bit outside of the box - they play music throughout the experience (you're blindfolded while sculpting) and the staff walk around with various scents to accompany your artistic journey - I was fine with most of the smells except the incense which was very strong but passed relatively quickly - the music though pleasant was extremely loud. Like I could feel the base in my chest loud, my experience wouldve been a lot better had it been at a more reasonable listening volume - they also take photos for you and email them to whoever made the reservation

Such an amazing experience. Being blindfolded really allowed me to immurse myself into sculpting. It was so much fun and time flew by so quickly. I loved the extra touch with the different aromas and the music. All my sense were heightened and I enjoyed every minute if it. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know

Sitting up close to the kitchen, we got to see them cook and plate their appetizers, entree and desserts dishes from scratch, incorporating the ingredients that were given to them. Throughout the cooking, we also interacted with the chefs, asking them about the dishes, and also getting some samples of the dishes before they were served. We arrived for Sunday dinner reservation right on time. It was small space with about 20 spots. BYOB place, no cork fee. Half of the seat were around the kitchen. There was a scoring sheet for each guest with names of both chefs, the ingredients of the day and the rules. The chefs got 45 minutes for preparing their appetizers, 35 minutes for entree and 20 minutes for desserts. It was impressive to see both chefs were precise with their timing. The dishes prepared by both chefs were so masterful, had intricacy of combining the ingredients and coming up with some sumptuous flavors. Salmon and steaks were cooked perfectly. It was extremely difficult to score the chefs on barest of margins and pick a winner. But per the rules I did pick Chef Ryan Beegel over Chef Alexis Sicklick. The host was also super nice and funny. She did a super job of explaining all aspects of the dinner, cleaning out plates after each round and serving all the drinks. Truly it was one of a kind TV Show like experience for us.

An event space review:…read more So, I've never been here for like a regular Saturday night and I've never actually hosted an event here but, I've been to this space for a few local Hoboken events and I've also been here for a private tour and the end result: It's aesthetically amazing. I've recommended at least one friend to get married here (and they are) and as far as event spaces go this one is damn fine with a max capacity of about 200 people. Mutli room all with beautiful wood floors, dark leather couches, dim lighting, brick walls. Wow. Definitely Prague in the 1940's. Definitely one of the hipper locations I've been in Hoboken. The cocktail list is extensive and is of the "mixologist" type. They are pricey $11-$13 or so but, that's how much fancy cocktails cost these days. Womp womp. I really can't talk about ambiance on a regular night since I've never been but for an event space, this place is truly dark, romantic and a super cool spot in Hoboken definitely a must stop and see when planning a special event, wedding, bday, fundraiser. (I have no clue on pricing/rental so good luck).

Their glaring incompetence was shocking and unacceptable. We booked our October 22, 2022 wedding in May 2021. The event managers at the time were knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions and concerns, so the decision seemed right (sadly, they both ended up leaving before our wedding). After that, getting any answers from the venue was like pulling teeth. From March 2022 to May or June they had a new event manager named Kevin who was entirely non-responsive so I started including the restaurant group manager Adam on emails. Eventually, Kevin disappeared. In July 2022, I met Adam in person. He assured me that he would adhere to all the promises made previously and we went through a list of questions I had. I asked to schedule a tasting and finalize the menu/pricing for our October wedding and he explained that they should have a fall menu by mid-August. It seemed like we had turned over a new leaf and were moving in a positive direction. Mid-August came and went, and I reached out asking about the menu which Adam indicated would be ready by September 2-3. From 8/30 to 9/7 multiple emails were sent without anything being scheduled. Somehow, my wedding planner got contact information for another staff member from another wedding planner and was able to get us in for a tasting on September 22. We did not receive final menus, alcohol lists, or pricing until literally the week of our wedding. In multiple forms of communication, the venue assured us they had enough tables for our guests and that they could provide freezer storage for our custom ice cream cakes. On Friday 10/21, I personally delivered the cakes out of a cooler bag to a member of the Kolo Klub staff and told them they were ice cream cakes and they needed to go in the freezer. She took them into the back herself and made me wait in the hallway so I did not see where they were stored. Come wedding day, we had issue after issue. There were not enough chairs set up for the guests for the ceremony so people were standing all over the back of the room. The venue had promised they had enough tables to seat our guests, yet two tables were sat around coffee tables. The bartenders were all making the specialty cocktails differently. During the speeches, there was loud music BLARING from the Pilsener Haus downstairs so people could not hear the speeches. The buffet took forever to be re-filled. And finally, the venue RUINED ALL FIVE of our custom ice cream cakes AND DID NOT TELL US AT FIRST OR APOLOGIZE. These were gorgeous, custom cakes from Torico in Jersey City that looked like amethyst geodes. I only found out because I asked a server to have the cakes taken out so my photographer could take pictures of them before they were cut and I was told something like "there was an incident and there were no cakes." As you can imagine, I was irate. The venue had upheld ZERO of their promises and now had destroyed our desserts that we paid for out of pocket and hand-delivered. I had NO WEDDING CAKE. There was no manager or head staff member on hand handling this situation and no apology. There were no proposed solutions of how they were going to provide dessert for our guests. In fact, my brother-in-law went out to a bakery and purchased cookies with his own money. I demanded to be repaid the money I spent on the cakes, and my brother-in-law insisted a staff member retrieve cash to compensate us, which thankfully happened. At some point what looked like a supermarket ice cream cake appeared. I am not sure if the venue eventually sent someone to get the cake or one of my other relatives got it. It has been two months since the wedding and I still have received no apology or information on what happened, despite a staff member saying "someone would be in touch." If I could do it over, I would never have hosted my wedding here.
