This places is absolutely amazing and the girls there are always awesome. I take Zo once a month for mommy daughter day and yesterday we took grandma for girls day and had a so much fun! A group of 10 women engineers, both collegiate and professional, met for a night of painting pottery and enjoying each other's company - all held at the Crop Shop! Erica guided us through the whole evening where we all got to hang out in a very inviting setting and painted our various pottery items including mugs, plates, and more. It's a great place to have these group hangouts while all focusing on making something creative and fun. There is free parking in the lot behind the building where the Crop Shop is open which is very welcome in a place like Hoboken! Not to mention, Erica makes this such a great experience! I will say it was a bit hard to find at first because it is not currently located at the street level but I'm excited for the renovation and future events here! read more

There was a mix-up with my order and the owner was extremely nasty and not helpful at all in trying to track down my order. Not to mention the prices are extremely high for the unpainted pottery. Not worth the bad service!! UPDATE: The owner called me again to harass me and yell on the phone for an issue that was resolved. Completely unprofessional and scary. If there was a way i could give this place negative stars i would. For starters, i painted a piece on November 4th... more than four weeks ago and i still don't have It. The employees there kept giving me excuses every single time i called. They stated my piece was being fired up, but It wasn't. I was fine with the wait cause they had some kiln issues, but they kept lying. One day It was being fired up and the next the kiln wasn't working. I've been understanding and patient, but this place has horrible customer service. If I pay $50 for a piece i expect to receive it.. After waiting patiently after a few weeks, they finally email me that my piece is ready for pick up on 11/26, so i finally go to the facility on 11/27 to pick It up. According to the email It clearly stated that they are open until 9pm Saturdays. I made my way to Hoboken and it was closed. Mind you, Hoboken is completely out of my way. I don't understand why this information would be given if It is incorrect. I've already waited so long for my piece to be fired up and ready. This is an inconvenience to me, as It would be for any customer. I emailed Erica that same day i went to the facility and still haven't received a response. I've never been to a place so unprofessional. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood, especially for all the young families... Or closet pottery painters, like me! I've loved pottery painting ever since I was a kid. I'm not the most talented artist, but it helps me get to my zen place and tune the world out for a couple hours. With The Crop shop only a block away from my apartment, I find myself wanting to sneak away often to paint. This studio is great - well lit, helpful staff, great selection of pieces and reasonably priced! The only down side, and really this is my own fear, is the hours aren't that convenient and I never see many people there when I walk past. My hope is that good old Yelp will help drum up some business, because I would be utterly depressed if this shop shuddered. read more

She has helped take the stress out of hosting birthday parties (which, as anyone with kids knows, is not an easy task!) From customizing every detail of your party as you'd desire to taking the reins and planning and providing everything you'd need, I can't imagine going anywhere else for my next party and strongly suggest that you check The Crop Shop out too. My favorite part of The Shop may be the event space- the decor is guaranteed to put anyone in the best frame of mind! After leaving a review of this business which showed months of terrible customer service and being given incorrect pottery, the issue was finally "resolved". Erica finally responded to old emails and informed me that she had my pottery in the store to pick up. I went to pick it up and was given both the correct pieces of pottery that my husband and I had made. I think it is evident in the picture included that the piece on the right that was offered to me in April is different from the piece given to me in November. And Erica is correct, I was disappointed in the glaze as the piece on the left was supposed to be blue and the one on the right was supposed to be green. However, that was less important to me than having the correct pieces of pottery that we made. I am sure that whoever made the piece on the right in the photo from April would've wanted their piece and not have it given to someone else as well. So after 7 months of Erica insisting I was offered the correct pieces of pottery and her failing to respond to my emails, I was finally able to pick up the pieces that my husband and I made. Most business owners would apologize for the delay, misunderstanding, and poor customer service. Unfortunately that did not happen. read more

2 Summer camps, a few open studios, a team event and wine tasting. I can say I have tried a few events here. The kids and the adults have a blast. I booked a birthday party at the Turquoise Cup for my twins and it was wonderful. The space was a good size with plenty of sunshine and a vibrant artsy decor. There were crayons for the kids to draw on the table before the party started and they had a blast painting treasure boxes and decorating their cupcakes. The staff was friendly and patient with the little ones and there was always someone available to assist me with other matters. What really impressed me was the owner, Erica Jones. She went out of her way to help me with the party items and walked to my car to carry all the balloons and heavy bags back to the party space. Many thanks to Zowey for helping us throw our 5 year old a great party! Crop Shop literally did everything-- the fun, the decorations, the cake, even the candles and gift bags for the kids. I'm used to working really hard and having an exhausting and stressful day of cleaning and running around when the kids have birthdays, but we really just showed up and talked to guests while the party hostesses took care of the whole thing. My experience with this studio and the owner, Erica, has been absolutely horrific. It's been 2 months since we completed our ceramics and to this day I have not received them (although I paid additional for shipping it) and the owner has been unresponsive, unhelpful and RUDE in all of her communication. My family was staying in Hoboken for a few weeks over summer and I thought The Crop Shop would be a great place for my 5 year old daughter and I to spend some quality time together. I scheduled an appointment and painted ceramics there in the beginning of July. We had to wait a week to pick up the ceramics and after confirming a pick up time at the studio, no one was there to meet us or pick up our countless calls over the following days. We returned home and I continued to leave messages, but no one responded. I finally was able to get the owner, Erica, on the phone on August 9th and after explaining my experience to her...not only did she not apologize for the inconvenience but she refused to take any responsibility that the business made a mistake. She did say that I can pay extra to have the items shipped to our home, which I did and now 1 month later, there are still no ceramics or responses. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone as it is poorly managed and given me the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will be contacting my credit card company to see what we can do as there has been no communication from anyone at The Crop Shop and I have paid a $100 for what I thought was a respectable business. read more

I visited this business at their prior location in December of 2015 with my cousin and my sons. We each painted a piece of pottery. When my cousin went to pick them up she was informed by the owner, Erica Jones, that one mug had blown up in the kiln and one was left cracked and therefore unusable. Erica assured her she would contact me regarding a refund. Years have passed where I have emailed her and messaged her on facebook to no avail. My cousin noticed they reopened in town and went in to inquire about my refund or credit and was told by Erica who looked in the computer that we still had it and to come in any time. We returned within 2 weeks only to be told that we could not paint because they were moving again. Erica refused to let my son paint or refund my money even when my cousin spoke directly to her. She has blocked us from her page so we can't post negative reviews or respond to her and she has adamantly defended herself on our posts and made many false claims about her actions. She has accused us of racism online which is defamation and has continued ignoring my emails. Over two months ago she claimed her attorney would contact mine, which has not happened.
