I would give more stars IF things functioned properly in the room. We were in The Dig room. The entire theme and room was challenging and exciting. My only complaint is when we completed a puzzle or clue, whatever was meant to happen to lead to the next clue didn't work, didn't open, etc. We wasted more time doing the same action over and over to get to the next step. We even confirmed with the staff member what we did was correct. Just disappointed. The creativity was good. We may return if things are working. I would call and confirm first! read more

Being a Game Master is not for everyone. It's a bummer when you can tell right off the bat that the employees really don't care for what they're doing and that sentiment rang true all the way until the end. We asked for our first clue within the first few minutes and received silence on the other end, we asked again multiple times until finally LEAVING the room to go look for someone to help us with a clue, by then we only had 30 minutes left. From there each time we asked for a clue the person asked us what we had found so it was clear they were not watching us at all. And then the clues we were given were just more unhelpful riddles. By the time we got to the next room we had about 10 minutes left, there was no way we would have finished in time. Aside from that, I would echo the other reviews with the overall poorly maintained space. I would recommend that your employees not disclose how many people had been electrocuted - not a good way to start by knowing there has been multiple electrocutions that day alone. Winner winner Christmas dinner! Venturing into my second Escape Room ever was a daunting task, especially with a slew of family and significant others in the mix. I can't spoil the room itself too much, but definitely harkened to some classic Spielberg movies which really added a great atmosphere and narrative. We just made it nearly seconds toward our demise, super thoughtful and engaging puzzles with pretty chill staff to boot. Best team/family-building idea for the holidays! read more

Since there are a number of challenges it allows people to work together as a group to solve a number of puzzles. They are challenging on a number of levels except physically. It forces you think critically the entire time. For the searching and hunting for clues. These places are relatively clean without specs of dust on anything. Each room is a different scenario which fits the atmosphere perfectly. Time restraints cause people to act a certain way. Since each room gives only 60 seconds it helps people stay focused and not stray away from their goals. Also the increased pressure can be overwhelming to some. Periodically people receive clues as to what to do next, they can either help the game or make it really easy depending on people's weight. read more

I volunteered to help plan our team outing & this is where we ended up. We the escape room called "the Agency" online which is set for 10 people. We were told if we needed to add additional people onto this party, we could pay for 2 additional tickets when checking in. We didn't use this feature as we had 10 people. but something for everyone else to think about. This place is upstairs in a plaza but for the most part, easy to find. We entered and were greeted and requested to fill out some basic information about ourselves. Make sure you enter in your real email, as they send you a group picture at the end using that email. Once the room was ready, we walked in and were greeted with a heatwave. The room which we'd be spending the next 45mins in was hot as hell. I had on a fleece like hoodie which had to quickly come off within the first 10 minutes of the escape room. I've been in some escape rooms were you get x amount of hints & they are only given when requested. Unfortunately, they were watching us on the camera and any time we appeared stuck they would just provide us with a clue on the big screen. Bitter sweet. Some of the things we never would've figured out without hints, while other stuff we may have found in due time. Overall, the hints are useful and the escape room really made us think. What I can't get over, is how hot is was in that room. We all had lil beads of sweat on our foreheads because it was so uncomfortable. read more

We enjoyed the room and struggled so hard but the heist room isn't beginner level and this was me and my daughter's very first bank robbery. We did the "Agency" room and had a great time. Two of our guests were brand new to escape rooms and really enjoyed it. When we entered there wasn't anyone in the room which others have noted. We did eventually hear a voice telling us to please wait. They have a QR code to access and enter your info in which made it easy. Our "host" explained the back story and was great. The room itself was great and had some new puzzles which we had never seen before. The only worn item in the room was a couple of handles but that was more of an issue that reflected poorly on guests that were careless. Everything flowed well and we completed the room with a few minutes to spare. I am not in Dallas regularly but when I return I would definitely try another room they offer. read more

I can definitely tell that our room had seen better days. We had to remind our technician guy that we had completed certain clues several times before he hit the button to the next one. It was clear that he was not paying attention to us in the room. We ultimately cleared it but got very frustrated with how it was being run that we got bored in it. I had great experience today. We solved the clues in 59:59 I will be back and really like this place. Redeemed! Today was free of charge because the owner/manager wanted to make sure I would return and was happy with my experience. I really appreciate that!! My first time visiting they over booked our room by several people and it did not allow for my younger children to participate. The room was much too crowded and it took a lot of the fun away. This is probably the worst escape room I've ever done. Our game master greeted us half-asleep wearing house-slippers and socks. The lobby and the room were disgusting. I don't think the place has been vacuumed or dusted in a very long time. My partner and I did The Dig and it actually would have been a decent escape room if the puzzles actually worked. We'd solve the puzzles and nothing would happen. There were key items missing from the room and our gamemaster made up for it by just giving the answer away. When we did require hints, he wouldn't respond for a very long time. When he finally did respond, he'd give us hints to puzzles we already solved. Since there were only two of us, we paid $40/person and it really wasn't worth it at all. There are a ton of other great escape rooms in DFW and I highly recommend staying away from this one. read more

I recently went to Escape the Room and was very disappointed by the service and the upkeep of the room. There were many exposed nails, items hanging on by the last thread, smudges, and so much dust. Multiple times we could not tell if an item was a clue or broken piece in the room. Along with the room, the staff member was not helpful in giving us clues to items we had completed several steps before or not clearly stating the clue. When asked to repeat, our questions were still unmet and clues were very unclear to what was said. Overall, I am disappointed at the service we received and the quality of the room we attempted to escape. I will not be returning back to this establishment. read more

We arrived on time and excited for our escape experience, but our attendant didn't share our enthusiasm at all. We were given no explanation of the situation in our room. We were given hints for which we didn't ask, and many of the puzzles in our room weren't relevant to the puzzles we needed to solve. Some of the aspects of the room weren't working properly. We managed to escape with half an hour to spare, though! When we escaped, we merely wound up in the hallway through which we'd entered. No one greeted us, no pictures were offered. Later, we received an email stating that we didn't escape, and no time was cited. It was very obvious that the staff at this location just doesn't care at all. Disappointing experience--we won't be returning. Don't use this escape room provider! read more

I highly recommend choosing Escape the Room if you're shopping around for escape rooms because the rooms, and service, was really well thought out. Best Escape Room experience, I've ever particpated in. I went to a few other Escape Rooms and they consisted of just one large room with several locks or puzzles in it. This one however, is mult-room with hidden doors, challenging scavanges and riddles for trigger your brain and teamwork. I experienced the Dig and it was the best Escape Room theme. The website description of the theme holds true, Davinci Code meets Indiana Jones. Even had a hidden golden statue which triggered by nostalgia to play in Hidden Temples! Get there a bit earlier since they are strict on the time you get to solve the room. Be prepared for teamwork! Try them out and I'm sure you'll start recommending them too. read more

We've played a number of escape room games (our favorite being The Escape Game company) and this one was fun, but I think there's room for improvement. We played on a Sunday morning, completing Western Bank Heist. The set in this room was really cool. I liked the story line, and the complexity of some of the problems, they really made you think and some of the props you used were triggered in unique ways, or were very different from anything I've seen - this was awesome! Improvements that would've made this a great experience: * A staff member met us 15 minutes before to have us sign in and then went to setup another team. No one else came to get us until our Game Master came to get us 5 minutes after our game was to begin. * Unlike other rooms, you can't request a clue - the Game Master decides when, and if, you get a clue. This is frustrating because sometimes you get clues when you don't need them, and sometimes when you really do need them you're standing around waiting for help. It almost seemed like a way to let the staff not always have to be overseeing the game. * There were clues that made little to no sense. In this room in particular, there are 2 objects in the room that have 8 numbers on them. Eventually these become numbers you need, but there's nothing at all (except the game master's clue) that lets you know which of the 4 numbers you'll need. Having them in red, or something else simple to differentiate, would make more sense. There were also objects (such as a clue having to do with a map on the wall, and a safe) that required precision to unlock the next clue, but the objects were hard to read or required a precision that the object didn't allow. Aka faded lines, or the lock being too loose to be allow precision. This wastes time in the game and is just frustrating bc you have the clue, you know what you need to do, but physically can't complete the task due to prop failure. * Some of the tasks were repetitive - for example, find a "blank" and insert it in the "blank" was a task 4-5 times. Not very creative. We got out of the room, but overall it wasn't a place I'd return to because of the above. read more

This was an overall good experience. Pros: The rooms seemed to be well decorated and themed. The staff were VERY friendly and pleasant to deal with. They had some fun props for pictures after. The rooms were challenging and overall fun. Cons: They didn't work well with us being a bigger group. They tried to steer me to having 10-11 people in a room and only doing 3 rooms, which would have been miserable with youth age kids...instead I booked all 4 rooms, glad I did! In one room (Dig) a prop was not working well. In another room (Apartment) there was a broken lock. The kids said they spent like 15 min trying to solve and thinking they were missing something because they figured and it just didn't work. When the host came in, acknowledged the lock was broken, they added only 5 min of their time back, so they were bummed because they almost finished it. Last con...VERY vague clues in my room (Heist), and thank God I had school age kids in my group, as fractions were needed and I would NEVER have finished based on that haha. Summery: I brought a youth group (33 youth and adults). They get bonus points for fitting us in, but it was VERY frustrating that they had to stagger us 15 minutes apart, which left some of our group waiting for a long time for rest of us to finish. The first Escape Room we tried (also in Dallas) not only fit us all in, we all went in at pretty much the same time. THAT experience gave us the escape room "bug" but we have yet to duplicate that AWESOME experience anywhere else. Anyway, overall, we had fun. They kids enjoyed themselves for the most part and again the staff was excellent and friendly...the rooms could use some repairs on those issues mentioned, but all in all I would go back and try a different room because they were so nice and the rooms were themed well. read more

We had a group do the "Rent is due"/Apartment room. Pretty cool concept for the room. Just thought the execution fell a little flat. Without giving away spoilers, I thought the ending of the room was a little lazy. The first few puzzles were great. I will note that we were a group of 7 and had another small group join us. Apparently it was one of the other lady's birthdays and the Escape Room hosts were kind enough to set up a surprise after solving a couple puzzles. I did notice that there were exposed screws throughout the room, especially inside the cabinets.. This could be a little dangerous since one of the tasks was having to look/feel around for clues. I was extremely put off from the lack of foresight /potential hazards in the "kitchen". Overall, it was a good time; however, this company wouldn't be my first choice to bring a group for an escape room experience. read more

A group of nine of us came here for a friends birthday and had a blast. We did the James Bond room and it was quite challenging. We had fun and tried really hard but ended up not figuring it out. The 20% success rate is a little comforting though. I would definitely come back and try another room but maybe with 5-6 people next time. It's a fun activity for a group of friends looking for something to do. Another plus is that they stay open late so you don't have to come early. This place was amazing!!! I cannot tell you the fun my colleagues and I had when we rented out this place for a women's networking event. The staff was phenomenal, the place was well setup and the rooms were challenging yet very very fun! We escaped with just 2 mins left and the time flew by. Unlike other escape rooms I have done, this one was much larger with secret rooms that opened and it was fabulous. I would highly recommend The Dig or The Bank Robber rooms; I had some colleagues that did the other one and they were unable to escape and didn't like it too much. I would recommend this to family, friends, rent out for a work event, etc., just fabulous and fun! read more

Visited this Escape Room on Christmas with my family as we were looking for something fun to do on Christmas Day. Escape Rooms have become one of my favorite activities to do with friends and family. Found this place because of the positive reviews and we weren't disappointed. I forgot the name of our room, but it was similar to Indiana Jones. It was very complex and fun! It started on time and we were pumped to get going! We didn't end up breaking out but we had so much fun in the process. Updating this review after visiting a few more Escape Rooms in the area: This one is still my favorite. The Indiana Jones room was just more high-tech and theatric and I'm noticing more and more escape rooms are just a conference room with a bunch of combination locks around the room. I guess this is a different type of escape room but one that I definitely prefer. What I recommend for newcomers: Read all of the reviews and pick your room based on which has the most positive reviews. Reviews can be hit or miss sometimes, just depending on which room you did. Some rooms are harder than others, and some are just finding a bunch of combination locks which isn't always the most fun. I like rooms that have a variety of different puzzles and things to solve, so the Indiana Jones room was great and I'd recommend it. Also, I think it's much more enjoyable when it's just your group that is in the room. I saw a review from adults saying they were in the room with a bunch of pre-teens! No thanks! You just never know how other people are in a group setting - they could be super competitive and don't work together well, super bossy, or just plain annoying, haha. Remember, you're in there with this other group for an hour. Try to get a room with just your group if you can, unless it's like 2-3 of you. You most likely won't stand a chance of getting out. I recommend either going with a large group and booking all of the tickets or booking a room that has no other bookings on the day of, like a few hours before it starts. More people may end up joining at the last minute, but maybe you'll get lucky like us! The site recommends booking all the available tickets in your party if you want it to be just your group, but that's not always necessary, plus it can be pricey. Enjoy! read more

I was thrilled to spend part of my weekend in Dallas doing an escape room. But the hour that ensued was the complete opposite of what anyone's experience should be. My group of 3 in our mid-twenties were put in a room with nine 12-year old girls. 9 preteens put together in a room was absolutely chaos! And my friends and I effectively paid to babysit for an hour!! WE WERE TRAPPED. ESCAPE THE ROOM WE MUST. Their parents outside probably be laughing at us. The entire time the girls couldn't follow instructions of not climbing the bookshelf or cabinets. Not that I was any better at age 12, but I'm saying that Escape the room should really have a policy to separate groups by age. My group didn't have fun because the girls were constantly screaming and singing and super disorganized. I'm sure they also didn't like us being there because it was one of the girls' birthday party and us old adults were intruding. If we knew we were going to be playing with children, we would have spent our money elsewhere. Beside the girls, the actual puzzle room itself (Apartment) was really boring. All the puzzles involved unlocking combination locks, so everything involved some variation of 4 digit codes. Numbers everywhere. But there was no sequential order, and no fun clues like riddles. Just gotta ransack the place effectively and you'll escape. Also to management -- since you told us that we shouldn't have to climb anything to find clues, don't put anything above 5 feet tall! Why would you do that and make it impossible for us since the rules said to NOT climb.... some of us are vertically challenged here and would not be able to escape. read more

It is a little tricky finding the escape rooms within the shopping center. It's on the second floor almost in the corner. When I got there, I had to wait a little bit before someone finally came to assist me at the front desk. I booked online so the process was smooth once someone showed up to help. I highly recommend you book online rather than walk-in because they get booked up sometimes (it wasn't super busy when I went). I did the South Park room. It was a lot of fun and they got the details from the show 100% correct. I went with my boyfriend, so it took us longer to get through many of the tasks. For one when we walk in it looks pretty thrown together. Bathrooms were discussing, couch's were beat up and worn down. We yelled for help for about 10-15mins once we were stuck. When help was granted it was too late and out of time. One of the clues were broken and doors didn't open even though we in the right combination. Kinda felt that the hints or clues were delayed on purpose so that time would run out. Definitely not worry the money. read more

The one we did was overly focused on keys and combination locks. The set design as great, but some of the puzzles themselves were a little bit tedious, as nearly everything involved punching in a number or turning a key. Or punching in a number to get a key that you used to get another number. We found that we figured out all the clues, but were hung up actually using them because of the clunky implementation. A creative way for team building whether for work or a family. There are different challenges and they tell you what success rate is for each one so you can pick from easy to hard. The challenges are definitely creative and make you really use your noggin. Must last approximately an hour. If you don't work well with others that try to carry the torch then perhaps consider planning ahead so your not stuck with random people and the risk having a hot head in that group, rather working as a team with all people you know. Our challenge consisted of 4 different groups and literally missed the win by only 5 seconds; likely due to a hot head gussie that I did not know who tries to carry the torch the majority of the time. It was still a lot fun and my teenage boys even had a great time! read more
