I cannot say enough good things about Escape Nails and especially Jade. I was having an extremely emotional day and am in the middle of moving. To top it all off, I dropped a box on my nail and it ripped almost the entire tip off. I went a full day with it exposed and the pain was intense. Even showering hurt. I'm new to the area, so I went to several nail shops and everyone was too busy to help. By the time I called Escape Nails, I was in pain, stressed, and honestly just overwhelmed. The man who answered the phone could tell I was upset and was so kind. He told me to come in, to drive safe, and not to rush. That alone meant more to me than he probably realized. When I arrived, everyone was incredibly kind and comforting. Truly above and beyond. They helped calm me down, fixed my broken nail, and the pain was immediately gone. Came here for a pedicure with my daughter. I mentioned several times that the water was way too hot. I pulled my legs out and my feet were dark red. He turned it down a little. But then when he turned the water on again, it was back to scalding. Then when I chose my color, the color didn't match their samples. I wanted a dark red, and they came out with bright pink and just shrugged his shoulders like oh well. I've been going to Antoine and Tanya for years, but Antoine does my nails. We always have fun and joke around and he does my nails just the way I want. I like my nails long, and he doesn't constantly ask if they should be cut. He waits for me to tell him to trim. I read some of the comments and find it so hard to believe they are even talking about the same place. I look forward to going. Antoine doesn't do the nail art, so if I want that done, I have Tanya do it or I go home and do it myself. Every two to three weeks I go and enjoy my nails and the company while I'm there. read more

I frequented this salon, not because the owner (Tanya) is friendly or seems appreciative of my business, but because it's down the street from where my dog gets groomed and is convenient. When I went in a month ago, I got a massage first next door, and I could hear a HUGE argument going on in the salon. Tanya was SCREAMING on the top of her lungs and it kept going and going ... I assume to her husband - who is typically jovial and pleasant to be around (he usually did my nails). When he did my nails that day, I had jagged edges all around the sides of my nails from the powder. I kept stopping him, saying, wait, you're filing my skin! Verses how they will make sure the sides of your nails are pulled away from the acrylic before filing (basic technique). In fact, I used my own file and finished the job as another person did my gel pedicure. They even asked me why I was filing my nails after he had just finished, and I said, "Because they're jagged". Additionally, I had four fingers that were scraped. They are very RUSHED when they work on your nails. It's more about the quantity vs. quality. I STILL tipped my 20% and paid in CASH - if you don't have cash, you're made to feel like you're inconveniencing them and you're charged the credit card fees. I wasn't able to go in for weeks due to Covid and today thought I'd give them another chance. When I arrived, the husband said he could do my nails, and nicely said, "Well, last time I had four fingers scraped and one bleeding". He immediately got defensive. He said that I want my nails too short, and that it's my fault. I'm like WHAAAAT???? He finally said, "I can "try" to do your nails". Try? I said, "Well, lets do this, why don't I have someone else do my nails today"? He immediately said that there was no one who could do my nails (as there were several employees sitting in pedicure chairs doing nothing). I said, "So, you're saying, if I don't have YOU do my nails, then you have no one else"? His reply was, "No ... you'll have to wait". I questioned him further, and he said, "Well, you hurt my feelings" ... WHAT??? I hurt your feelings???? What about that slogan that the customer is always right? It took DAYS for my fingers to heal and I was simply requesting we don't go down that road again. I thought about getting my pedicure, then thought to myself ... AM I NUTS? Now mind you, I've frequented this establishment on and off for about 8+ years. I've taken friends and family there. I've brought them business. I've always tipped well. ALL BECAUSE THEY WERE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED. Well ... I got on google and found "the next spa" and it looks like God is already blessing this sweet family. It is just a man and wife at the moment, but I have not had this quality of nails in YEARS! He did my pedi and she did my powder gel. Idol Nail & Spa, 1661 S. Val Vista Dr. #105, Gilbert (Anna and Travis). They were kind. They were grateful for my business. They were so focused on the QUALITY of their work. SERIOUSLY ... I felt like I just left an abusive relationship. I'm still literally blown away at the utter disrespect and lack of care as I walked out the door. For them, I'm disposable. Basic pedicure for 3 of us. 2 started, and the 3rd person waited until my person finished mine to start hers. We had an appointment, so I'm not sure why not all started together. Shouldn't schedule us if not available to actually take us all together. More clients came in waiting as well! Massage is not very long, so that's a bummer. Had the WORST pedicure ever here. My nails are all unevenly cut/filed, nail polish on the corners and on my actual foot. Very Crappy & Sloppy Job. I went back for them to "fix" it for some lady to SCRAP the old gel off nearly making every single one of my cuticles bleed and saying NOTHING the whole time. Escape Nail Spa was open and accepting walk-ins. I felt like I needed a pampering moment, so I dropped in. The salon was bright and clean. The nail and pedicure sections were separate, with two sections of pedicure chairs. I was welcomed and told to sit where I like. I picked a chair, and was told "not that one". Well, ok then. You don't pick a color here; they bring you a plate of plastic nails with color codes. I chose a bright coral and the biggest pedi package they had. The service was great. The scrubs, paraffin and hot stones felt amazing. The water was the perfect temperature. I didn't feel like I received a great callus removal though, and I feel like I'm sandpapery. Is that a word? There was a nice big tv across from my chair, but it blasted Korean pop tv, then a montage of past auditions from The Voice, or American Idol, or AGT....some singing show is what I'm throwing down. I've got my nails done at this place a week ago and i am not disappointed. A lot of the reviews are very negative, but honestly, I would recommend this place. The atmosphere is calm, the studio is clean, and the people who work there are super nice. I only got plain nails, which have good quality, with little details-- I have to admit that they may not have the best precision when it comes to the drawings in the nails, BUT the work is still definitely worth the price! I think pictures will do explaining enough. I will say my tech was so kind. This review is not against her specifically. But it took 1 hour and 45 min for acrylics to be removed and an overlay. I asked for the picture with flowers on all 10 nail and I did change the colors. But still....just look. Plus, everything was additional. Cuticle cut? Extra. Cuticles pushed back? Extra. *update* I saw this message and contacted Tonya and went back in. She took her time to make sure I truly liked what I got and was willing to let me change my mind a few times until it was what I wanted. Did a terrible job. They didn't even give me a menu to choose from any pedicures. The guy just started with filing my toenails crooked, didn't use any oil, very little lotion and gave me a 30 second rock massage. He was in such a hurry he did an awful job with the painting of the polish. I mentioned some thing and he came back to try to clean it up and fix it but made it worse. When I went to check out I told the owner and she told me they could fix it I told her to never mind because he already tried and I didn't have time and that I would not be back. She just said "oh OK I am so sorry." With all of the different nail places nowadays they have no idea one unhappy customer is the best way to lose many customers. Went for what should have been a relaxing pedicure. Clearly the male tech that did my service had never done a pedicure. Usually you soak your feet, nope sat down and just started chipping away at my polish, didn't let cuticules soak. Nothing. When it came time for the callus removal he started on the top of the foot and didn't make it very far down before he cut me and it stung the entire remainder of the pedicure- I skipped the callus removal all together after that, and that is the main reason I went. I've been to Escape Nail Spa three times. I live in California but often visit family in Arizona. I like that they line the pedicure bowls and change the liner after each client. My pedicures there have been great. The staff is friendly. On one visit I just popped in to have my nails shortened. I was in and out in about five minutes and the nail tech didn't question how short I wanted my nails and made sure they were even and shaped well. The last visit I got a new set of acrylic nails and a pedicure. Unfortunately there was a family there who ruined the idea of a peaceful mani/pedi for many of the clients, but the staff couldn't control that. At one point I almost asked if the children could come sit and talk with me (so the rest of us didn't have to year at the moms yelling across the shop and constantly sniping at the kids). Anyway, the cat eye gel polish I got looks great and I get many compliments on it. Unfortunately the nail shape has annoyed me from the beginning. I'm one of those who has a hard time saying if I don't like something, and I couldn't stay longer anyway, so I left and figured I'd try to come back the next day. Some of the nails are flat on top and others have a natural curve. I asked for rounded square tips. It's sometimes called Squoval. What I have is two with a wave to them, some that flare out, and a couple that angle. I wound up having to fly back to California on short notice, so I didn't make it back to have them reshaped. I will probably try this shop again for a fill or new set when I'm back in town. I don't like to make a decision based on a single experience, and my pedicure experiences have been great. read more

My niece, my husband and myself walked in, was asked what services we were wanting then directed to chairs for pedicures. We also informed them of a full set, eye brow wax and two manicures. Everything was going well until told, while in the chairs, that they were going to have to stop working on us cause they had a party of 5 coming in and they cannot be late. First, we were there before them and sitting in the pedi chairs. Secondly, we too we're getting ready for an activity. We come every 3 wks so this completely took us by surprise. I have been going here for 10 years. When I first started going before the expanded, they were really good. No matter what nail technician you had you always had great looking nails. Now they have more technicians and poor quality. 2 weeks ago I went back to the nail salon because I had fungus growing under two of my fingernails. This was due to the poor quality of my backfill for pink and white acrylics. They had to take off all of my nails and put a new full set on and had the audacity to charge me for it.
