First time escape-rooming and I braved it as a solo adult with six 10 year olds. I was not sure what to expect but everyone had a blast. I am still marveling at how entertained and into it the kids were from start to finish-their attention span never waned. Seaogh was our game master and he was awesome through and through. He knows how to keep things rolling and engaged with the kids in the most endearing way. They gave him hugs when we left! We had friends visiting from out of town who love to visit escape rooms. This was our first time at this location and we did the Game Show room. 3 adults and 2 twelve year olds. It was the perfect sized group for the size of the room and puzzles involved. We all had a blast and were overall impressed with the puzzles. Not too easy, not impossible, all interactive and fun, especially for the 12 year olds. Second time at Escape Factor. This was my third time ever doing an escape room - my first time was at Escape Factor two months ago & second time ever was at a downtown Chicago spot. The experiences were miles apart (literally & metaphorically) - I only want to do Escape Factor rooms. Escape Factor is well deserved of its 5 stars on Yelp (and 1K+ 5 stars on Google) - the rooms are incredibly high production value + very immersive (really feels like you're in a treehouse for 'Treehouse Raid at Fort Knox' or 70s game show for 'Bonus Fun Time Game Show Challenge'). Additionally, the game masters are truly incredible - they hit just the right balance of allowing you to stew on your own & giving hints in a way that nudges you in the right direction without straight giving an answer & ruining the fun. Shout out to Nick for being very in character as game show host (and game master) this past Saturday night! There's a nice balance of guidelines around how to approach the puzzles alongside creativity within the puzzles themselves. We enjoyed our experience quite a bit! My family and I went here for my daughter's birthday party and the event was perfect. Escape Factor custom tailored everything to be age appropriate and offered assistance when they needed it (but kept the fun going for the kids). We were so impressed with the experience my kids had that the adults also joined in on the fun and plan on going back with friends. All of the employees were helpful and it seemed like they were very knowledgable about each escape room. The rooms that were offered covered a broad spectrum of interests so it made it hard choosing which one we should do...lots of options. I really liked how creative and challenging all the clues/hints were. We came here last night for the Bonus Fun Time Game Show room, we all had a great time! Our group has done a few escape rooms before, both at this location and also other places, but we agreed this room was one of the more fun ones we've done. Our game master Nick was really helpful if we got stuck and made us laugh. I also had a small issue with a voucher that I received as a gift a few months back and he helped solve that quickly, I got a response/solution right away. It seemed like a good day to have some escape room fun, so we headed to the Escape Factor in Forest Park to try out the Treehouse. We have probably done about 15-20 escape rooms and have loved them all for their own uniqueness. The Treehouse did not disappoint and truly was super creative and cute. To us, it was the perfect level of challenge. Ingrid was our game master and was great with "nudges" to assist us (she asked if we wanted nudges during the game and we emphatically said yes. Our brains were rusty). We cannot wait to come back to try out the other rooms! They looked really great!! LAGNIAPPE: We really hadn't been to Forest Park before. Escape Factor is on the main "strip." We were surprised to find a really cute "downtown" area. After doing the escape room, we walked west down the street and had an awesome meal at Chirrion Mexican Grill. It was delicious! Street parking was easy on a Sunday afternoon. What a spectacular experience as a ten-year-old birthday party "main event"! Seaogh put a fairly large group of 4th graders at ease and helped them to get in the right mindset to solve puzzles and find clues, and solve puzzles they did, a whole rabbit hole of them! Ok- maybe we aren't the smartest. We ran out of time and lost- but we did spend the first 10 minutes laughing and yelling at each other( funny yelling, not mean). I have never done an escape room before and was looking forward to celebrating my birthday with a group of 6 friends-young and older. Only 1 person in our group had experience with previous escape rooms so we were all in for an experience. The 60 minute Game Show-themed room far exceeded my expectations! It was definitely challenging for our smart bunch, but included fun and clever games. Our host, Dexter, provided just enough hints to keep us going. With great teamwork, we were lucky enough to finish just in time with a minute and 2 seconds to spare! Phew! We're all looking forward to coming back to try another room at this location and have already recommended it to several friends. It was a GREAT size room for our party, lots of puzzles and innovative tech. It's a pretty old school looking room but the game show tie-in was a nice touch and Brandon, our host, was hilarious! This was our 7th escape room as a family (7 year old, 15 year old, and 2 smart adults). We did the Timekeepers Trapped room for our son's birthday. It was challenging and a lot of fun, but unfortunately it was our first escape room that we didn't make it out of. We were about 5 minutes from figuring it out, so we should have asked for more clues along the way, but regardless we had a great time. They let us peek into the other rooms before we left and we all want to go back to try them as well. The only thing that could have made this place better was if they had taken our picture with those funny signs like all of the other places do. read more

Pretty cool place! We had to ring the doorbell to get in, and our game master, Brandon, greeted us and signed us in. We chose the game show room and it was really well themed! One thing they offer is nudges- which basically means if you struggle they will just kinda point you in the right direction. This is optional, and we chose it. It seemed like a good idea, but he basically just kept helping us even when we knew what to do, which got a little annoying. We probably wouldn't have escaped if it weren't for them, but still. Our room at Escape Factor was more challenging than we originally expected, in the best way possible. I came here with a group of friends earlier this month, and I admit none of us had ever tried an escape room before. We had reserved one of their larger and supposedly hardest rooms available, which involved clocks, and were given 60 minutes to get out - we finished it just in time, thankfully. The staff were friendly, and will give a few clues if you are stumped. The room was a bit cramped for our group of 10, but it likely would have also been a lot harder to solve had we not had so many people. They designed the rooms with great detail, and the theme and questions were very well thought out. read more
