The pool was open from noon-5pm (it was opening day, I don't believe those are standard hours). We bought tickets online in the morning before going, which was a good idea because there was an incredibly long and slow line to purchase tickets. It was $15 per person. They have changing rooms, including showers with soap. They have a reasonably priced concession stand (no outside food allowed). There was a gigantic pool with multiple sections, including a zero depth entry section, 2 lap lanes, a 12 foot diving pool with diving pool and 2 drop slides. 2 medium large water slides. There was also a huge splash pad including a set of little kid water slides and a water bucket that dumps water on people. The life guards were great. We had a great time!

We were very impressed by all of the lifeguards tonight. They were very pleasant and attentive and kept a close watch on the action. The pool has 2 slide areas, a kids section, lap lanes, diving well, and free play space. Grassy area and lounge chairs. My teen enjoyed the concession stand- soft serve ice cream and funnel cakes! I like how they enforce the "no food on deck" and "no shoes on deck" rules. Points off as the parking is absolutely bonkers. There were other sporting events happening tonight, plus just folks in the park, so there was no available parking. We parked in the farthest lot, which seems like a full 2-3 blocks from the entrance, and with 1-way lanes it took us super long to get everyone in and out of the event. Also, the locker rooms were outdated and did not smell the best.

There is a small parking area for you to park your car. The field house is located in the corner for you to use public restrooms or maybe even have small birthday parties, gatherings or events for the kids. Even though my son is now in college. I still love to come back here and channel into my kid zone. I sometimes will grab a book, lunch and come and sit on one of the nice size rock and enjoy the weather. I also, still like to get up on one of the swings and enjoy the great spirit of seeing how high I can swing into the air. You can also enjoy walking along the parks path. Great for relaxing or just bringing the kids out to have fun on the many different activity equipment that is located in the middle of the park

My first impression of Veterans Park: Veterans Park is one of those underrated and low foot traffic parks that only a select few know about which is great if you want solitude. Amenities: Both the picnic sitting area and the playground equipment is up-to-date with little to no graffiti (which is a big plus if you are in a major city). If you are a chess/checkers lover there is an area in the park that you can practice your craft. Location: Veterans Park is right across the street from a mini dog park which brings the entertainment factor up a couple notches. The unfortunate part of Veterans Park is that it is in the middle of a random neighborhood which does nothing to increase the foot traffic. Unless you are searching for a local park you may never know Veterans Park is around you. I love the park nonetheless and it's slowly becoming one of my favorite miniature parks to visit.

The only other park that would rival this one is the Park District of Forest Park, which is a much larger park that typically has more visitors and families with children. Attended a 2 year old birthday party this weekend at Lil' Kickers and it was adorable!…read more We were greeted by the very sweet staff who pointed us to the direction of the birthday party. They set up a huge bouncy house for that was really the star of the show. The kiddos had some much fun climbing and jumping around on there. The indoor fields were also open for us to run around on. Most of the kids were still pretty little, but they really enjoyed running around and kicking the balls. We would love to bring our son back here for lessons once he's a little bit older, but for now it's an A+ birthday party destination!
