It's huge, multiple levels. There are at least three slides coming out from it. Lots of places for kids to climb and scurry and jump. But that part was too big for my kiddo so we went to the smaller section a few steps away. There was a structure to climb, several slides, some bars, and then even a little further away a bunch of swings. I tried to keep her from seeing the swings, to be honest, since I didn't want to have to deal with an upset kiddo when we had to leave without enough swing time. She played around a bit but didn't seem as interested in the playground. We went down a slide or two, but some of them had standing water since it has been a bit rainy recently. The playground isn't technically fenced in, but it is effectively so because it's behind the practice courts which are all fenced in. It'd be hard for your kid to get away from you. There's a parking lot for the Norridge Park District building but the neighborhood parking could be tricky, especially in the summer because there is restricted parking from Memorial Day to Labor Day (ostensibly because of the large pool structure that would keep the residents from having any parking for three months otherwise). The terrain of the park is wood chips and soil, decidedly not my favorite (maybe especially after a rain) and she got dirty pretty quick. I may bring her back when she's old enough to play on the rocket ship, but this won't be a park that we return to much if ever.

Approximately 20 years ago was the last time I stopped at this park as an 18 year old, and since then it has really changed! Nowadays I like to bring my children here. The actual park has been re-built slightly more south, with a toddler mini park as well as a bigger kid area. They have really expanded the rest of the park. There are two beautiful ponds which have fountains in the middle of each. In addition, there is a beautiful gazebo which is perfect to take pictures in as the backdrop of the fountains are perfect. Both times I have visited there have been both wedding and prom pictures being taken. There are also plenty of photogenic ducks just waiting for a photo opportunity!

The ramps are double wide so there is plenty of space for children of all ages to share the play space. However, there are separate sections for younger and older children so the young children won't have to feel intimidated. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There are slides of various sizes, rock climbing walls, flying saucer swing, zip line, assorted climbing structures such as panels and ladders, and swing sets. 4) The tennis courts are just around the corner so this is definitely a keeper because our 4-year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy.

The Hub at Baron Park reeled me in with a Groupon deal and I'm totally sunk for them now. They have…read morea normal deal of $14 for lunch, batting cages tokens and miniature golf which is a pretty darn good meal in my opinion. My Groupon deal was $14 for all of that for two people - 12 batting cage tokens (12 pitches with each token) which is normally $1 per token or $5 for 6 tokens. 2 hot dog combos with chips and drinks normally $4 each, and two rounds of mini golf which is a $10 value. My friend and I went on Tuesday when it was 100 degrees out so we were really feeling the heat but I had so much fun! It was fantastic to have it all right there in one place plus their concession stand had a decent variety of drink choices and a few flavors of Dippin Dots. When we were ready for our hot dogs, we sat in a nice shaded picnic table area. All the young guys & girls working at the Hub were helpful & friendly and didn't have the lackadaisical attitude sometimes displayed by teens in their summer jobs. The Hub has a spray pool but we didn't go in there - it was filled with kids & their weekday babysitters. The batting cages were great - 4 cages with different speeds of softball & baseball pitches. Please note, I own at softball. :) The mini golf was a fun time but not the fanciest mini golf I've ever been to, pretty plain. I think they could amp it up just a tad to make for a bit more fun! All in all, I had a great time at The Hub and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

You could spend an entire day here! The family went on a Sunday to use our Groupon. We did the mini-golf which was just fine. The course doesn't really have a theme but there are lots of butterfly plants and lots of butterflies. We also visited the batting cages. My five year old had a blast. It seems you can also rent out the space for a picnic. There was a large church congregation having a picnic that day. They also have sports fields for football and whatnot.

There were only three other kids playing so we nearly had the whole playground to ourselves. The girls enjoyed climbing up the ropes, coming down the slides, and running around the playground on the rubbery ground. There was an ongoing basement game that my husband stood and watched for about 15 minutes until his girls summoned him to push them on the swings. There are picnic tables, basketballs courts, and volleyball courts as well.

They also have a sand lot, tons of fun play structures, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a walking/ running path. I'm a creature of habit and I also loathe too much sun and humidity. I prefer this park because there are many areas of shade and places to picnic. The walking path is also a great and safe place for my son to ride his bike. P.S. One of the few parks whose public washrooms do not send me into gagging fits.
