Came here on a church trip during our free time today, and it was a blast! We called last minute and they miraculously had an opening for a five person, thirty minute room, which was perfect! Our game leader, Katie, was super kind and helpful. I'm not sure how pricing works for escape rooms, as this was my first time, but it was 134. The facility was clean and staff was friendly. Fun Time Game Show Challenge at Escape Factor is one of my favorite Escape Rooms in the Midwest. I happen to be slightly obsessed with escape rooms and being a game show contestant, so two of my worlds collided in this experience. I was lucky enough to be able to book a last minute game with three strangers and fit this in my Chicago weekend trip. They were a great team of experienced players. We were able to work together to escape in time. I love the set design and props. The bright colors and familiar themes made it even more like a real game show set. The puzzles were fun and creative. I especially enjoyed the word puzzles and physical challenges. There are a few activities that are especially good for new players such as doing simple tasks repeatedly. The flow of the game was spot on. The game master is in the room with you as a character. Most importantly the game was very fun! I HIGHLY recommend this escape room for all experience levels. I also played the 30 minute doctor's office game alone. It's a fun, logical, clever escape room. The theme is doctors waiting room, so the set isn't anything especially spectacular compared to their hour games. I enjoyed the interaction of the game master in character. I would recommend the game be played with two people, but doable with one. Overall I had a fun time playing the game and thought the puzzles were enjoyable. read more

Overdue review from my seven person birthday group. I had the greatest time with my group and our host Brandon. We got the perfect amount of encouragement with him in the room and completed the puzzle with a minute and a half to spare! I love his outfit and how it matched the game show theme of the room. The room wasn't as small or nearly as scary as people imagine. It was so exciting and they had plenty of tasks to complete. My mind would not stop turning and digging deep to find those answers. I've done several escape rooms in several different Cities & States. I was in town visiting and I must say that I was truly impressed with the game show escape room. Great mixture of puzzles, technology, and locks. I was glad to know that this room had more interactive items than locks because I hate when escape rooms have all locks with nothing else to offer. My wife and I did the Bonus Fun Time Game Show Challenge by ourselves and escaped with less than 5 minutes to spare. The room had a very unique theme and a good variety of puzzles. The experience was relatively linear but there were generally 2-3 different puzzles to work on at any given time. The puzzles were on the easier end compared to some other escape rooms we've done, but still fun. It's great choice for 2 people who are already familiar with escape rooms but there's definitely enough going on to keep a larger group busy. The game show theme alone is worth the trip! Sean was an excellent, attentive gamemaster and did a good job supplying clues when we needed them. We're looking forward to coming back and trying the other rooms at a later date! read more

My wife and I did a date night here, and it was an absolute blast. This was the third room we've done with them, and our game master, Dylan, made it a great experience as usual. We weren't sure quite what to expect with the adjustments for COVID-19, but the team has really made it feel super safe and comfortable. Masks required, they had an air purifier in the room, and have transitioned to having the game host over speaker for hints and help so it's just your party in the room. Such a great time, and highly recommend as a fun, safe family activity as the cold brings us indoors. read more

We went two weeks ago and had a great time doing the Gameshow Room. Our group of four (2 adults, 2 young teenagers) was able to finish the room with just minutes to spare. There is a host in the room with you for this challenge, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It made it easier to ask for hints and nudges, which were just the right amount to get us going in the right direction again, but by no means spoiled the challenge. The puzzles were well-made, no two alike, and had creative and sometimes fun solutions. There were enough puzzles that all four of us were involved and engaged the whole time, sometimes on different puzzles at the same time. That was a nice change of pace from another escape room we'd done in the burbs where it felt like there just wasn't enough for everyone to participate. We are definitely going back to do their Timekeeper room that we caught a glimpse of on the way out! read more

My 12 yo really wanted to do an escape room as a family celebration for his birthday. None of us had ever done an escape room before except for online games. We chose the Treehouse room--it was so much fun! The "set" was well thought out and fun to look at. The clues took some work but weren't impossible--the information you needed was all there once you found it. Our game master Sean was great--he knew just when to offer small nudges. The basic concepts and "rules" to the room were explained clearly before we went in so that we didn't waste time trying to unscrew electric outlets, for example, to look for clues. We all really enjoyed ourselves and have already started arguing about which room we want to do next. read more
