I went on a self-guided pizza crawl near LAX before picking up my family flying in from the East Coast. Stop 1 was ESBC The Slice and Point. This was one of the best pizza-related choices I've made in Southern California. Parking is a little tough...I ended up parking a few blocks away on a main street, which was fine, but didn't notice there was a public parking structure available closer behind a building across the street. The place was crowded and lively on the early Saturday evening I was there. That's a great sign...I was just getting a slice to go, but overheard the host telling people it would only be 10-15 minutes for a table. I had a classic cheese slice. (My litmus test for NY pizza at a new location.) It was FANTASTIC. Easily among the very best crusts I've had on the west coast...super thin and crispy...exactly as it should be. The balance of sauce and cheese was also perfect. Too many pie shops seem to treat sauce as an afterthought...too thin a layer, almost not tastable. But not here...it was perfect...the right amount of everything. There are other really delectable looking pizza options, even for vegetarians like me, including a fascinating "Cacio E Pepe" and a Margherita. (I also saw one which looked all sauce like a tomato pie, which looked really good. (Plus other options like Fried Brussels Sprouts or Fried Cauliflower...cheese bread, and salads. The beer menu, as one would expect with "pint" in the name, is extensive with lots on tap and "guest" brewery selections. Lots of wines to choose from as well. Slice and Pint may be local to El Segundo (lucky El Segundonians!) But my experience with this one slice is that it would be worth the drive from anywhere in SoCal to eat here...If you love NYC-style thin slices...like real legitimate ones...charge up the car and get yourself there. read more

Went to Slice & Pint during a really busy night and the atmosphere was loud and somewhat chaotic. We were told to find a seat and order up front, but honestly I didn't hear the part about needing the table number first. After finding a table, we went back up ready to order and the server responded pretty rudely: "Did you not hear what I said?" I completely understand restaurants get busy and mistakes happen, especially in a loud environment, but the attitude felt unnecessary over a simple misunderstanding. We ended up leaving and went to Japonica around the corner instead, where the service was much friendlier. read more

Love Slice and Pint! Have been going for a couple years and my preferred go-to when visiting family on the weekends. Staff is always friendly and the place is usually busy with family, friends, etc. Takeout is always an option and the food holds up well during transit :) Highly Recommend any of their pizzas, chopped salad, meatballs, and garlic knots. Great pizza spot with El Segundo brewing taps. All the pizza chicks are very good with the soft doughy slices. We got the half cacio e pepe and surfin bird that was delicious and not too greasy. The garlic knots were great with the marinara sauce along with the Caesar salad. The staff was super nice and attentive and were quick in getting our trays and trash out of the way while we enjoy the meal and chatted. Order at the counter and everything is brought to the table. Drinks come fast and the pizza takes a minute. But get the pan pizza. It's worth the wait. All pies were delicious and had very interesting toppings. It got pretty crowded but no one had any issues getting cozy. Well worth the stop. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. The restaurant was busy, and the service was friendly and efficient. We snagged the last outside table on this beautiful October night. We started with the fancy olives and the garlic knots. The olives had a lovely citrus marinade giving them a fancy and sassy vibe. The garlic knots were so buttery that I had to go back in for another. That doesn't mean the pizza wasn't incredible. This is the kind of pizza I always hope for when I try a new place. It's crispy, it's chewy, it's tasty and no matter how full you feel, you want more. In the the, I had to decide whether to finish the garlic knots or eat another slice and the knot won. Okay, so we walked past this place on our way for some ice cream and noticed how good the pizza looked (pizza is one of my favorite foods what can I say) and decided we'd come back and check it out. So, I gave these guys four stars as we had very good and not so good pizzas. When we walked in we were expecting to be seated however this is different than other restaurants. Here you get a table on your own first and then go place your order at the check in stand and they'll give you a table card stand. A little strange but oh well. On to the pizzas... We ordered two pizzas wanting to try both the NY style and their pan pizza. I was expecting to like the NY style better as that is what I prefer However the pan pizza was incredibly delicious The NY style pizza was not very good. It tasted like an old pizza that was just reheated. I expect they wanted to bring the pizzas at the same time and messed up the timing finishing the NY one first and instead of bringing it straight away they held it under a heat lamp for too long. However, since the pan pizza was so good I held the four star rating. The service was just adequate. Nothing to write home about and I wouldn't even be able to remember who served us on a return trip. The interior was kind of cool being set up like a pub but I was not a fan of the picnic style bench seats we sat at. Those seats make it difficult to sit down and get up from. They do have outside seating though. I'm sure we'll go back for that pan pizza and probably give the NY style one a try again as well but will tell them to bring as it is ready. read more

I give it like a 3.8. Their vegan pizza was delicious and huge and the crust was some of the best I've had. Pizza could have used a bit better vegan cheese. The beers were also delicious and fresh! I would like to have been here during a special event. Also I think all pizza places benefit from having some kind of video games. Maybe some arcade options would be fun? The service is ok, you need to seat yourself and know your table number. The interior is nice and a work of heart. I believe they'll keep changing things up inside from time to time. There's nothing better than a cheesy pizza and a cold beer. We came here with a group of 8 about 20 minutes before a Sunday Night Football game and grabbed one of the last tables. As the game went on it got more packed so keep that in mind if you're hoping for a seat. You grab a table, order at the counter, and close out at the counter after you finish. They serve El Segundo Brewing Company beers so we went with a pitcher. I thought it was interesting that they serve it to you in 8, 8oz glasses instead of giving you a pitcher for the table. We got the Cuatros Carnes as a pan pizza and the Crowntown as the hand-tossed thin crust. The Crowntown was really fresh from the arugula and prosciutto with bright spicy flavors from the calabrian chili oil. As a meat lover, the combination of sausage, pepperoni, meatball and salami on the Cuatros Carnes with the thicker crust just hit the spot and was my favorite. This is a great place for a group, with casual vibes and great food and beer. I'll definitely be back. read more

You have to wait in a line to order your pizza and drinks. They give you a number and they bring your order to the table. It's bench seats so you have to share the table. It's incredibly loud with all the kids running around and screaming. The pizza is good and they have a good beer selection but if you want to go to a place for a beer and a slice of pizza to watch a game, this is not the place. read more

This place is much larger than it looks from the outside. Plenty of parking as it's in a huge strip mall. I went on a Friday night and it was packed mostly because of baseball, so it seem like a fun place to watch too. It's a great place for a large group. Weirdly enough this place doesn't really work for 2-3 people because all the tables are huge, but it's clearly funner when there is more people. When you enter, order your food and drinks, they'll give you a number and serve it all to you. You can order a whole pizza or just by the slice. Pizza is delicious, nothing too unique to rave about it but it does the job with some even better beer. read more

My buddy was raving about this place, and I really wanted to try it. We stopped in on Thursday for some late lunch. He ordered a cheese pizza, and we had Cokes to drink. How was it? Cheese Pizza- Really solid slice. Great crisp on the bottom, pick up and eat without any flop. Could have used a little more cheese, honestly. Crust was good, but was too "light". It didn't really have that much chew. This pizza is really thin, too. So thin, you could probably house a whole cheese pizza in one sitting. For the $25 price per cheese pizza, a little bit steep IMO. All said and done, one of the better slices I have had in Los Angeles, and I would come back to try some other pizzas. Love the chill vibe here. Good for hanging out with colleagues to eat food and drinks, while being friendly for families with young kids. The one thing that would make this place excellent is if they allowed on their website dine in ordering. Their website only allows for takeout ordering. They have a QR code at each table put only to see the menu...you still have to order at the counter and tell them the table number you are sitting at. So if you are dining alone or waiting for friends you stand the risk that someone takes your table while you are ordering then you have to have that awkward conversation with a stranger. read more

Need an excuse to get off work early? ESBC has a two slices and a beer special that runs until 4pm - the best tasting beer and pizza combo in the South Bay. If trying to decide between the Redondo and El Segundo locations, go for El Segundo - it's not as loud and hectic. I've enjoyed most of the different pizzas on the menu. Yum! REALLY YUMMY PIZZA!! My group ended up trying the Pepperoni Pie, Belle Isle, and Cheese Pie. Each pie was so different and ended up being a favorite to someone depending on their taste preferences. However, everyone agreed that the plain Cheese Pie was EXTRA delicious. You can tell a lot about a pizza place based on its plain cheese pie. You KNOW it's got a great pizza if adding toppings actually deters from the flavor, as opposed to the other way around. The Belle Isle was good for a white pizza and the Pepperoni pizza was delicious and classic. BUT THE PLAIN CHEESE PIE was perfect in its simplicity. A good ratio of cheese to sauce to crust. This review is not really about the food or restaurant itself. The pizza is pretty phenomenal and the IPAs delicious. There's one particular employee/bartender - girl with RBF and a nose/septum ring. Her attitude can best be described as someone whose parents woke her up at 5AM and forced her to clock in. She seems upset that we customers even had the audacity to show up and eat there. Most unfriendly and unwelcoming service. While other employees were hustling, she's just standing there scrolling on her phone. Walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon. A friendly young man smiled whilst answering my first-timer questions and taking my order. I asked if the bread pudding had raisins. Thank goodness he said no because I REALLY hate raisins. Welp, I don't know if it actually does but sure looks and tastes like it. The bottom was dark/overcooked which gave it a burnt aftertaste, and the rest of it was mushy. Wasn't even sweet, and that brown sauce tasted weird too. Basically inedible and a waste of 9 bucks. I tell you it takes alot for me not to finish a dessert, and I trashed atleast 75% of it! The "slice" of pepperoni was ok. I did like the crispy texture but again, not the best flavor. I swear the pepperoni even had a hint of what I like to call "dirty bar towel" smell. So if you're into that kind of thing go for it. The fountain dispenser is located right in front of the bathrooms so you get a nice whiff of whatever germs are floating around when you go to get your drink. Classy lol. What a fun spot! I picked up a pizza to go late on a Thursday night and the vibe was still vibing in there. I couldn't see the whole place from the pick up counter but there are lots of different rooms, indoor & outdoor seating, and lots of TVs- the PERFECT spot to watch a game. The pizza was good too! Got a cheese with added on peppers and such. It tasted similar to other sports themed pizza restaurants. Crunchy crust!
