Repaired our alternator much cheaper than Honda who wanted to charge $883. I paid $359 part $96 labor. Extremely friendly and VERY HONEST. Honda was trying to get us to change the Spool, Ernest said let's only do alternator and then see if the Spool is truly the issue. He didn't want us wasting our money. I wanted to wait until Ernest had performed serious repairs on all four of our family's cars before I wrote a review so it would be entirely accurate and represent long term consistency rather than a spot sample. Bottom line: Ernest is the most experienced, effective, and honest mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of hiring. I keep my cars until they completely die. I have had only three in my life (I'm 57), and the Crown Victoria I drive now is the last car I shall ever own. Ernest is the one keeping it running, and it runs beautifully. He's The Car Whisperer: he has so much experience with engines he can often tell what the problem is just by listening to one run for a moment. To give you an idea of his level of service, I was about to pass by his shop one day when the engine started idling very roughly. I pulled in, and he sat in the passenger seat and listened to the engine. He could already tell basically what was going on, so he connected his analysis system and it verified his diagnosis: it was the #7 ignition coil that had suddenly gone bad, which I could plainly follow on his analyzer. He happened to have one on hand, so he mounted and tested it and the car ran perfectly. From the moment I drove into his parking lot to the moment I drove out it was a half hour, and it cost me around eighty bucks, total. For another test, my wife was having a problem on one side of her car with brakes and veering. I had her take it by a national chain that sells tires and batteries, and they quoted over $1,100 for repairs, claiming all manner of major parts needed replacement. Ernest laughed at that and showed us where the problems really were, and then had her out of the shop the next day for a little over two hundred bucks, total. And so now I have a mechanic I can trust and who knows exactly what he's doing. If you've ever been the victim of other car mechanics' deception and outright lies then you know just how valuable this is. If he wanted to -- if he were a fundamentally lesser person -- he could make a fortune telling people the typical lies mechanics often do. But he's about good work for an honest buck. Ever since I got my 2009 nissan rogue I have been running into problems and Ernest has been extremely helpful. He gets work done in a timely manner. In each instances when I needed him to fix or replace something on my car it was done in the same day. He doesnt charge super high prices but he is a very nice man and very personable . He brews fresh pot of coffee for his customers, provides bottle of water if you are thirsty and after every job completion he gives you a piece of chocolate for being a customer. I am going to keep coming to him for any issues I have. He has been in the business for over 20+ years and he knows what he is doing. He has a loyal customer for life!!! You cant beat having a mechanic who is great at what he does and cares about his customers!!
