I am so sad! They changed the menu and not in a good way. Some of the original items are still on there but we were saddened to see the elote is gone. We dream about that corn! On this trip we got their nachos (they've been good in the past) and the buffalo wings. The nachos weren't that good today. The cheese sauce had a bit of a gritty texture, the "spicy medley" or whatever it was called had mushrooms in it and the ground beef was cold. We had to send the wings back because they were dry and the sauce wasn't good. Ermanos use to be where we took our visitors or new folk to town but we will have to find a new place :(. Not sure how I haven't written a review sooner, because I love, love, LOVE this restaurant. The price is higher than what you would expect in Tucson, but trust me it is worth the quality. First off, the ambience fits the 4th avenue vibe. A little dark, with some cool back lit mood lighting and they have booth seating which I appreciate. The menu has food items you won't find anywhere else in Tucson, plus a rotating weekend special. I'm also obsessed with their reverse happy hour, which is after 10pm, and you can find both their signature drinks and bestselling food items on there at discounted price. If I could change one thing, it's the staffing. I've never had an issue with the folks working there, but DANG are they consistently understaffed. I've been there during lunch on a Sunday, and it's a full house, with only two people working front. Ermanos, please staff better and don't overwork your folks! read more

Let me just start this by saying our server Cody was absolutely incredible! He totally made my day when he surprised us by having our steak entrée split into two plates, so that my partner and I could share. This alone made my experience there top notch - it really is the little things in life They come out honest Culichi were beautifully presented, but a little too tart for my taste, although I would try them again. The steak dinner was good but the star of the show there was definitely the Brussel sprouts - i could make them an entire meal! Wow! What a perfect meal to close out 2023 on NYE! Walking in, I saw someone having the salmon and I just knew I had to try it. It did not disappoint! It was one of my favorite meals out in a while. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin on top. The seasoning was so delicious! The mango slaw that topped it... chef's kiss. Under the salmon laid a sweet potato mash that complimented the fish nicely. And for the veg, a sauteed kale salad with lemon. My one criticism may have been to have the kale cut into more manageable pieces. But if I go to a resauraunt and the only thing I can critisize about the meal was the size of the kale, you know it's amazing. The restaurant was packed but it was also NYE. A bit noisy but it died down and I was still able to enjoy pleasant conversation. I couldn't leave this review without also giving a shoutout to the espresso martini! Perfection! Ermanos has a cool industrial gastropub vibe with warm brick walls, high ceilings & hanging wood LED lit sculptures, beautiful desert landscape behind a long backlit bar, couple flatscreens to catch a game, 20+ taps, Happy Hour 4-6PM daily, and a bangin' scratch cookin' kitchen to rock the menu! Bonus HHr 10-Midnight for Fri/Sat benders too! Hubby loved his Old Pueblo Burger about a 1/3#er seasoned with chorizo spices, cooked rare as requested, $15 a la carte kinda spendy though very satisfying and a big hunk o'beef. $1.50 for cheese and $6/HHr for the fries ($8 reg) which if you want/need them are finger lickin' good, double fried, crisp and fill a long 16" platter plus house made ketchup! $22 Buttermilk Fried Chicken was very good, but the lemony kale and cheezy mac were actually better. Crust on the chicken fell off on cutting and could use more seasoning that pops but lotsa black pepper does the trick to the 2 juicy thighs. Big portions so I had leftovers for a friendlier pub food budget if you are not splurging. Our $12 HHr/$15 reg Caesar had plenty of croutons and parm, tasty dressing with hint of anchovy and a lovely hit of zest from the charred lemon and plenty for 2 of us before mains. $10 HHr Cocktails included 2 of our faves, so we were killin' it on our inaugural EB Anniversary HHr; a Walnut Old Fashioned and a nitro served coupe'd Espresso Martini. The Martini was very sweet so could easily be stretched with more espresso for my liking. OF was super, clear cube, amareno cherry and curly Q of orange zest; hubby could easily of sunk a few more if not for driving! Chill bar with 2 patios! It was a gorgeous night. We brought our dog out to get some fresh air. Service was great, and our dog was very happy with her giant bowl of water on the back patio. The food was fresh and not salty. I probably could have used some salty on everything. I always get distracted by a happy hour menu. I'd like to return to try some of the foods on the regular menu. Decided to visit to Ermanos since we had a reservation at Portal, I'm so sad to say we were underwhelmed. Stopped by on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy but service was really slow, I had to go up and pay at the bar because we were going to miss our Portal reservation. Ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Mac & Cheese, paid $29 for these two items which seemed high. I would've been okay with the price point if they were good but the sandwich wasn't spicy and the Mac & Cheese had a grainy texture. But what really blew me away was the food.. the charcuterie board was amazing! So well balanced with sweet and savory options. It was PERFECT appetizer. Next was their buttermilk fried chicken sandwich.. By FAR the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had, no seriously, it was that good. I eat fried chicken sandwiches almost everywhere I go in search of the perfect one, and so far, this was it! Huge piece of chicken breast, fried to perfection bursting with flavor and a crispy-ness that a potato chip would envy. I was very surprised, in a great way, with our experience here. The space is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. I really like the seating area here along the right hand wall... it has a really great vibe and it brings a certain je ne said quoi to the area. The low slung tables and casual seating are quite enjoyable. The food was excellent. The beer selection is great. My steak was cooked to perfection and I was very pleased with the entire entree. The server was attentive and even though we were seated next to the front door and hostess station, we didn't feel like we were crowded, it wasn't too noisy, and there was no feeling of chaos going on. The host with the mustache came over a couple of times to make sure we were doing OK (we were) and the team just seemed quite pleasant. Great menu choices across the board. One of our favorite places to go to. Has a great vibe and music to match. Our bartender/server, Tara, has also been courteous in all of our visits. The food and drinks are moderately priced. There's a wide selection of beers on tap. On this visit we had the elotes, ox tail pasta (finally! Was always ran out on our previous visits), and mint custard pie. The elotes was ok for me, but my wife liked it more. The pasta was real good and savory. The wide pasta tasted fresh, sauce was creamy and flavorful, and ox tail was tender. The pie was a good compliment; not overly sweet. It has a slight hint of mint in the pie, some while raspberries, and a side of whip that had an espresso flavor, but was told out was bourbon. Other notable foods that we tried previously was the fried chicken with collard greens and Mac. This entree was really good too, and we really loved their collard greens. There's also a cool lounging area in the back called Portal. Might need an RSVP for that, but I recommend checking both of these places out, grab a dirty martini while you wait, and enjoy the scene! read more

They had a ton of beer options on tap and even a beer cooler to take beer home at a discount. It was Taco Tuesday which means $3 tacos and they had a beef taco or eggplant taco as the two options. We each had a beef taco and then shared the elote with chicken, which was massive. We didn't think we ordered enough food but we were pretty full and couldn't even finish the elote. Thanks to the pandemic, it's been quite a while since we've been able to go and eat there. But we've always loved it and we miss being able to do it. Staff is very safe, everyone wears a mask, and they make sure that you are abiding by the rules. Service has always been great food has always been great. We decided to sit outside this time in the new patio area with the color changing lights. The ambience is very nice, unfortunately a bit loud with the light rail passing by, and people bumping their music as they pass by. Staff was very accommodating turned on the heater for us, make sure we got a good seat to enjoy the warmth, they turned on some music for us and brought out our drinks and food promptly. We love dining here, and just been on fourth Avenue. They've done a great job with the new patio structure outside.
