This is an overdue review as I moved last year in August, but let me start with saying I 100% recommend this company and had an above and beyond experience with them! I recently moved across country from CA to TX. I reached out to over a dozen companies and got vastly different price quotes and levels of service. Some prices quotes were low but the companies did not do an inventory check or accurately assess the size of the move, so I questioned the accuracy of the estimate. Also, I had read horror stories of companies increasing the price and holding your belongings until you pay. Other prices were exorbitantly high that it was absurd. When I reached out to Erkin Relocation Services, they were the only company to attempt to accurately assess the amount of furniture I had and give me a proper quote. Erkin came out to do a physical assessment to ensure he could see the size and amount of furniture and boxes I would be moving to give the most accurate quote. He also gave me a competitive price compared to other moving companies. Erkin's Relocation Services also does not outsource the move to other drivers, but when possible he personally oversees the move to ensure everything by goes smoothly. I was impressed by the quality of service and professionalism but even more impressed by the honestly. I ended up not hiring a company for the cross country move and my family and I made a road trip out of the move. However, I did hire Erkin's Relocation Services to help me pack my items and load the truck. They did a fantastic job! The movers carefully wrapped and handled fragile items and packed them strategically to ensure nothing was broken. I have not seen movers wrap the items as carefully as they did and I have moved more times than I can count on two hands both locally, nationwide, and internationally. They did an amazing job and nothing was damaged or broken during the move, which was the most important thing for me. I've had movers damage items in the past. Also, the crew was friendly, and they worked hard. They kept constant communication too. I had a 4 bedroom 2 story home and more items that I would have liked to have. I was worried about being able to get out and one the road in time. Thanks to them, I was able to move out of the home and have enough time to clean before my actual planned move out date. The packing and loading of the truck was an excellent experience in itself, but Erkin went above and beyond and helped me find movers in Texas to help me unload my truck. These movers were also excellent and worked extremely fast. We were able to unload everything in under 2 hours, which gave me and my family time to relax and go out for dinner with minimum work after that long drive. I was expecting it to take much longer. The movers Erkin located in Texas were also very professional and friendly and efficient. Again no one damaged anything and were very careful when moving large objects so they did not hit walls or scrape floors. It was one of the most seamless moves I have ever had. If I had to move cross country again, I would reach out to Erkin Movers first before considering other movers. My experience with them was excellent, and I trust them now with my items. One additional note, I had forgotten to take out a wallet and passport and put it in my purse before the movers came to start packing. I didn't know where I had left them either, so I could not go and find them. I was worried about this since I had unfamiliar people in my home and things were chaotic for me with this major move. The movers found the items while packing and let me know immediately when they found them and returned them to me. Nothing was missing out of the wallet. A less reputable company may have taken it or packed it carelessly. They knew these were important items and returned it immediately. If you decide to choose Erkin to help you move, please be very careful and don't let him play his street-smart tricks on you just like what he did to us. - $50 deposit later became nonrefundable reservation fee which CANNOT be applied to moving cost - 2 HOURS LATE than the scheduled time WITHOUT ANY NOTICE - 40MIN of drive took them 90MIN - left lots of SCRATCHES and MARKS on the wall On Oct 26th, we called Erkin to book the moving from San Francisco to Sunnyvale on Oct 29th at 1PM. Erkin asked us to pay $50 deposit. On Oct 29th our moving day, at 1:30PM we still didn't see him and we didn't get any call from him to let us know they would come at a later time. We called him and he said they would come at 3PM. This totally disrupted our moving plan!! After they moved all our stuff on their truck, Google map shows driving from San Francisco to Sunnyvale takes around 40 minutes at that time. However, Erkin took 90 minutes driving a small truck. Also he charged us another 30 minutes for driving back to SF. We have no idea how can a 40min trip on a Saturday evening without any traffic on the road became 90min ?! When the moving was complete, Erkin asked us to pay the full amount for 5.5 hours of moving, we paid with tips. On the second day we realized Erkin didn't refund us the deposit, so we called him and he refused and said the $50 was reservation fee rather than deposit. He is being dishonest and we have never seen someone doing business in this way! We called Erkin several times asking him to refund the deposit. He kept making different excuses to hang up on us. At the first time he said he was busy, and he would call me back later but he never didn't. At the second time, Erkin said his accountant was out of town and he needed to confirm with the accountant. We were so tired of his lies, and at last we had to call our bank to dispute that charge. I used Erkin's services to move from downtown SF to Denver CO. I originally reached out to Erkin online and he called me back shortly after. Erkin came to my apartment a few days later and did a walkthrough, gave us a quoted price, a description of how the whole process would go. After getting several quotes from all the major van lines, my wife and I decided to go with Erkin. We chose Erkin for a number of reasons (1) the service was door to door, meaning there was no additional transfer between trucks, and since we lived downtown no national mover could get a large truck down there, (2) the time from pickup in SF to delivery in CO was just two days, and Erkin stuck by that and delivered, (3) we were quoted based on the size of the truck and not by weight, (4) Erkin's overall communication and assurances, and (5) Equal pricing to the major movers. Prior to move in date I submitted a small deposit that was later credited towards the move. Erkin provided the necessary COI to satisfy my apartment building move out policy, he also delivered boxes ahead of time so that we could pack things up. We ran out of boxes and bought more, and Erkin deducted the price of those materials from the overall cost. Erkin and his crew will pack items, but my wife and I wanted to do it ahead of time on our own terms. On move in day, Erkin showed up pretty close to his projected time with 4 other guys. I was very happy to see he brought a big crew to move us out of our apartment quickly. A bigger crew is better for everyone, less time needed to hold the elevator, better quality move since the movers have less redundancy, just overall a better experience than you'd have with just 2 or 3 guys. Erkin and his crew deconstructed and wrapped all furniture and loaded everything up in the truck in about 5 hours. It was impressively smooth. Erkin himself drove the truck to Denver in 2-3 days. We moved out July 5th and he delivered our stuff on July 8th. Erkin hired to local movers in Denver to assist him. Erkin and the guys moved everything into our new place, put together our furniture, etc. I'm about 4 hours. Erkin and his men were careful. We only found one small scratch on a piece of furniture that wasn't big enough for us to care. All TV, work monitors, large glass table tops, acrylic prints all made to without a scratch. He even brought our plants that we wanted to keep. I would definitely recommend Erkin and his services. He made our lives so much less stressful. Right as they arrived I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment though. Looking back, this was one of my most stressful experiences I've ever had, but I felt like Erkin did the best he could to make up the sticky situation we were both under. INITIAL CONTACT/QUOTE: I had reached out to Erkin exactly a month before my move to schedule a long distance move for July 4th. He responded in a prompt matter and offered me a quote almost immediately. A day later, he provided a formal quote & called me to verify that I had received the email. I really appreciated that. Great first impression. I sent him the deposit on June 4th and followed up with him on July 2nd to make sure we were good to go and he confirmed almost immediately. DAY OF / PACKING: Looking at the previous reviews, all of Erkin's team arrived in the same shirt to show they were the movers. Erkin told me that the movers would arrive from 9-10am. My movers did not arrive until 11:00-11:30am. The person who was assigned to me did not show up in a shirt shown in the pictures above, and I saw him idly waiting down the street for about 20 minutes. I called Erkin & he offered to provide 1 mover + 2 additional help to assist with expediting my move, which I REALLY appreciated. It offset the lateness and honestly, the movers were careful in wrapping all of my items and placing them onto the truck. I had asked one of the movers if they could help me dissemble the bed and it didn't seem like he understood what I asked him to do, so I just ended up doing it myself. Overall, I feel like the movers did a good job packing all of my items into their vehicle. They arrived at 11:30am and left by 1:30pm. ARRIVAL / UNPACKING: Honestly, a mess of a day. Erkin had confirmed that the movers would arrive at my apartment by 9am. They didn't arrive until 2:30pm. Once they arrived, it was 1 of the same movers from yesterday, but the other 2 were different from the ones that helped with packing. Overall, it was abysmal. Once they arrived, I had left quickly to go to the bank to pick up the amount + tip for the movers and came back to most of my stuff moved in already. Once they movers dropped off my stuff, I didn't see 2 of them for about 45 minutes. I still had all of my large items (golf bag, couch, coffee table, desk, piano) in saran wrap. 1 of the movers had stated "we're done now" after they had dropped off the last box. I had requested them to remove the saran wrap from all of my furniture and he did not seem happy that I asked him to do that. It was tooth and nail asking him to remove the saran wrap. Once he removed the piano, I had to ask him to remove the coffee table saran wrap.. then my golf bag.. then my carpet. I didn't understand why I constantly keep telling him what to do next? I finally saw another mover come up to my apartment and requested to use my restroom, so I allowed him. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO FLOOD MY TOILET AND LEFT WITHOUT TELLING ME. The movers left all of the garbage from the move and their trash in my apartment when they left. None of my furniture was in place the way that I wanted it to be, and I felt like they were just rushing to get out of my apartment. They left all of my windows open and left my golf clubs and rug on my porch outside without my permission. It has taken me a couple of days to process everything that had happened. I was honestly so upset because in addition to the terrible service I had experienced, my piano, stand-up desk, and coffee table were slightly damaged. The bolts on my piano were screwed on incorrectly and my stand-up desk screw was damaged. It looked like they attempted to remove the screws from my piano, but then gave up. This was my very first time using movers and this experience helped me learn a lot about patience. DAY AFTER / FOLLOW-UP: Erkin called me the next day to ask me how I was feeling and how the experience went for me. He stated he could tell that I was distraught from the entire experience. I had told him everything I had stated above and he was empathetic and understanding of the whole experience. He offered to reimburse me for damages to alleviate any distress the move put on me. It wasn't a lot, but it was something - which I appreciated. Overall - I would only use this relocation service if Erkin is going to be part of the moving process. I feel that he is a great leader and has good organizational skills with his team. It was unfortunate that I wasn't able to have him be apart of my moving process. For our Bay Area to Portland move, we made the mistake of responding to a moving broker ad, and all of a sudden we were getting tons of calls, texts, and emails from all over the country promising impossible rates and great service. But when we dug into these companies, there was a lot of fine print about how they load your stuff onto a shared truck, delivery dates were not promised, and final date would be based on cobbling together a bunch of moves, so you might be first or last, depending on how they string the drop-offs together. Erkin moved us from NorCal to SoCal in ONE day. He was the only mover I called that was able to do a same-day NorCal to SoCal move. With all the other moving companies, we would've had to wait anywhere from 3-14 days to get all our stuff. Pricing was significantly better than any other company we received a quote from as well. Overall, a successful move -- everything made it down same day and nothing broke! Moving day was one of the longest and most exhausting days of our lives, but Erkin had a great attitude and remained in good spirits all day, even when he was unloading our stuff pretty late in the night. We started the day in San Francisco around 9AM and finished loading all our stuff into the truck by 1PM. While we already had most of our stuff packed into boxes, Erkin's team provided all materials needed to wrap our furniture and TV. He also provided larger boxes for random odds and ends that we couldn't fit into our own moving boxes, and wardrobe boxes for our clothes. Erkin and his crew then took a lunch break and left SF around 2PM. Since he was driving the big moving truck, he had to drive slower and made it down to Orange County by about 11PM, then spent the next two hours unloading all our stuff and reassembling furniture. It was such a long day, we definitely couldn't have done it ourselves, so we are very grateful to Erkin and his team. Just a few pieces of constructive feedback: (1) The SoCal team that helped unload did not wear masks -- not even while in the elevator with my boyfriend and they kept trying to make conversation with us. I understand that it is difficult to wear a mask while doing heavy lifting, but I would've appreciated if they had at least put on masks before talking to us or getting in the elevator. To be fair, Erkin and the SF crew wore masks whenever they'd have to be in close proximity with us or talk to us, so it's just the SoCal team that I had an issue with (and they may have been part of an affiliated moving company, not directly under Erkin's supervision). (2) Erkin's initial time estimate for how long the move would take was a bit optimistic -- I think he initially said we'd be done by 9PM or so. Obviously we didn't make any other plans that day, but I would've appreciated a more accurate time estimate, and I think we could have started earlier in the day (like around 7AM) so we didn't have to be unloading the truck at 1AM. TL;DR: I wish I could give 4.5 stars because my fantastic experience would have been perfect if a few things were improved. Erkin's is a "family-run" business that provides excellent value, and are a an absolute joy to work with. My move needed to happen on short notice (3 days later, on a Saturday afternoon), during what seems to be moving season in SF. Erkin either had a cancellation, or was serendipitously available that afternoon. I'm thankful for this! He promptly responded to calls and texts with respect to scheduling and insurance details for my building. The crew arrived about an hour and half later than the planned 12 PM. I was admittedly upset, but figured we'd make it work, since all of my belongings were already boxed up. Despite me considering myself an organized minimalist, I managed to fill up their 16 ft truck. Ethan and Gaby worked in lockstep to load up my belongings into the truck in 2 hours, which had to be parked down a slope. Extra work out, yay! We show up to my new residence where another tenant's move was going well over time. Ethan maintained a cool head and offered to pause the clock and take a break. So thankful for this, too! As we were approaching the building's no-move time policy, Ethan decided to call in additional help - David arrived and sped up the offloading process. I was not charged for a 3rd person, yet again thankful! Yes, they nicked a leg on my handmade sofa and had to bend my rug at some point, but this is to be expected during a move. Areas of improvement: 1) I wish the crew had arrived on time. 2) I wish the crew was a tad bit more efficient 3) I wish the crew's equipment was a bit more sturdy - it would have helped with #2 What I think happened was that Erkin's had an earlier engagement that went over. Yup, I said I was ok with it. Ivan showed up within the hour to start helping. They moved really efficiently, I never saw them slow down and I was in the apartment most of the time! We had packed prior to them coming, but there were stuff like the couch that we hadn't done. They packed the couch, furniture and grouped all the loose items into boxes that they brought themselves. Once it was finished, I was under the impression they were gonna take a lunch break but they asked if they could continue on and drive over to the place! Unfortunately the condo is strict with move in times so they waited at my old place until they could drive over and start. They met me at security, they backed their box truck into our condos loading dock, and we started. The move in was really quick, asked where we wanted all our boxes, and that was that. We paid at the end, and they only charged ~30 min for the 3rd person! Erkin was there the entire time but he did exactly as promised, no extra fees or trying to nickel and dime you for every extra service. I would highly recommend them. Erkin was really communicative and called me throughout the process. He even called after everyone was gone an hour later to check if everything had gone ok and if there were any problems. Look no further and just call these guys to take care of your packing and moving....yes I said PACKING and moving!!!! This is a long review but there are so many reasons why and I want to share it with you all. We were doing a long distance move from San Francisco to San Diego (500+ miles) and was dreading it since it was during the height of moving season and had to do in less than 30 days. Most companies would require a much further advance booking for a long distance move. I got my quote on July 4th weekend and had our move done on July 30th! Needless to say I had 4 quotes total but I decided to go with Erkin for many reasons: 1. He showed up very promptly as promised and very professional. He came in a suit and dress shoes, never would I think of an estimator for moving would show up in a suit. He even had a masked on and asked me if I'm comfortable with him taking it (since he's fully vaccinated). I thought that was very considerate of him. 2. He started with assessing the parking situation (anticipation for the moving truck). Access to the building and elevators. He asked all the questions that the other vendors never even asked me so I knew this guy meant business. 3. He did the tour of the our unit and he was very quick and thorough. My baby was napping upstairs so he was very respectful of not disturbing her. At the same time my 5 yo son decided to ask him a million of questions about moving his legos. Erkin was very sweet and took the time to answer address my son's concerns about his legos and how they will take care of it. It was to the point where my son invited him to come back and play legos with him, since Erkin said that he's busy today and can't stay to play. 4. He was very realistic about how long it will take and man power. I mentioned to him that my HOA requires a certificate of insurance (COI) in order for me to lock in the moving date with the building (it's crazy but my building only allows 1 move per day). 5. He told me that he will have a quote back to me later that evening or the next day. Right after he left I told my husband "I think I found our movers. I really like him from the minute I spoke to him on the phone to meeting him in person." I received my quote later that night and boy were we surprised how REASONABLE they were. Not only that but he even attached the COI, which definitely shows me that he listened and paid attention to everything I had said. 6. During his walk through he had mentioned that his crew will do all the packing. But I told him that I was planning on doing that myself. He said that's fine but in his experience when his crew shows up most ppl are not fully packed or did not pack properly so they just include the packing in their service. 7. They came two days before my move date to pack our belongings. I thought maybe 2-4 packers were going to come pack up our 1400sq ft place. An entourage of 11 guys showed up...yes eleven guys. They were so efficient and quick that they packed our entire place up in 3 hours!!!!!! 8. I sent my husband to go pick up some pizzas for them. Erkin was grateful but said that he was taking all his guys out to eat at a sit down restaurant since they all like different stuff and eat pretty healthy. That right there tells me what kind of person he is. 9. Move day - They arrive on time as planned and this time with 12 guys. They moved all of our stuff out of our unit and into the moving truck in 2 hours. Super efficient. 10. We flew down to San Diego to meet the movers the next morning to receive our stuff. There were four guys unload the entire truck and as usual super duper fast and efficient. I can't thank Erkin and his crew enough on how seamless they made this move from the communication from beginning to end. He always reached out to me to inform and updated me on what was going on. Before the packing and moving he called to make sure we were still on track and had the time and dates down. After the packing he let me know they were leaving the bay and starting their commute. After the move he checked in again to see how everything went. I would highly recommend Erkin and his crew for all moves. They do cross country as well. My husband and I moved here in TOMBALL, TEXAS from NORTH BEACH in SAN FRANCISCO, CA on JUNE 22, 2021. A month earlier, I contacted ERKIN RELOCATION SERVICE for an estimate on how much was the cost to move my personal effects from CA to TX. I was delighted to note that ERKIN, the owner of the company, responded within minutes of my chat inquiry at his company at YELP. In three hours, we were able to sort out our schedule and he came by to my flat in San Francisco and met with me and my husband. POSITIVE POINTS: 1. Erkin was straightforward regarding the cost of my move. No hidden fees. So that was good. 2 He suggested that we get started to prepare for our move by getting rid of the unwanted things I had in my home. These were old furnitures including my piano. 3. ERKIN's company was the only game in town who was able to move down my piano in a narrow passage of our stairs. And as you must know, San Francisco apartment buildings mostly have narrow stairs due to the limitation of space in the city. Hence, I was happy with him and his staff that they were able to get the piano out of my flat! Erkin even knows how to play the piano! 4. In place of the furnitures to ship to TX, I had 35 pots of live plants in large pots transported by ERKIN. These included the very rare Burenfelsia plant (aka Yesterday Today and Tomorrow), Pink Jasmine, Star Jasmine, umbrella plants, Citrus Cypress, Bay (Laurel) plant, Thornless Bougainvillea , Fennel, etc. At first, I was afraid that they were all going to die on the road but miracles of all miracles, as ERKIN had promised me, he did his best to take care for them. I was really touched (my heart *melting* with joy) to see my plants are alive and (even flowering at the time of delivery to my new residency on JUNE 25th) in Texas! Erkin said that he watered them and opened his truck during his gas stop to let in the light/sun while on a break driving inter state! Can you beat that? My husband, friends and family who saw my plants via FaceTime were impressed that they survived the long journey! They all asked, "HOW DID HE DO IT?" In fact, my close friend even said, You should give him a 10-star rating!!!!" that tells you the kind of man is he. So, a million thanks to ERKIN! For this gesture, I am giving him a 5-star rating. I don't think anyone or any moving company could have done what he did for this job! Superb! SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1. ERKIN's business will do even a lot better if he and his crew would come on time. Twice they were two hours late on their promised ETA. 2. The process to remove the items to be dumped in Recology should be explained to the customers prior to starting the job. On my end, I had a hard time finding my office supplies because his crew started moving my personal effects very fast while taking away the furnitures in my flat. my husband and I were lost on what they were doing. Also, at that time, my husband and I had already packed our moving boxes, and so when they gathered them together and returned them after the furnitures were taken away, the box with labels were facing the wall and were not facing the front so we had a hard time identifying them when we needed something from two of the boxes. Erkin not only was able to fit us in, but helped strategize what sort of team would be needed and what we could do in advance to help conserve time and budget - of which were strict on both. I found Erkin's Moving right here on yelp and based off reviews decided to give him a call. Erkin is the owner and he was very prompt and courteous from the get go. I inquired about a long distance move to North Dallas and he personally came out that afternoon to our home to give us an accurate quote. We decided to move forward with him based off his professionalism and experience with long distance moves. We put a modest deposit down to secure a date that was applied to the move. I don't understand how another reviewer on here stated it wasn't applied towards the total moving costs but it definitely was and we had zero issues with that. 3 days before the move, Erkin sent 2 movers (with my approval first) to wrap up big furniture items so they can get a head start. The movers did a fantastic job. They even left us packing material at no cost for us to wrap up smaller items. Actually they offered to help us pack small items but we said it wasn't necessary so they left some for us. On the day of the move, Erkin himself came along with 5 more guys to pack a 2000sq ft home in 2 hours. They were quick! Nothing was scuffed or damaged. It took the movers 3 days to get to Dallas and Erkin himself arrived with 3 more guys. They unloaded and put everything in designated rooms in 2 hours. Again, super quick and nothing was damaged. They are true professionals. Regarding payment, we paid the deposit first, then half when they loaded the truck and then the rest once they unloaded at the destination. All went smoothly and Erkin was able to be reached anytime if we ever had questions/concerns during the entire time. Erkin and his team are outstanding at what they do. Erkin got me through a nightmare moving situation. My moving plans suddenly fell through, and he was able to move me from Oakland to Portland (normally a 10 hour drive) with four days notice. But what made it especially challenging was that the PNW had an ice storm that weekend, and part of Portland still had no power.
