I selected and hired JLL Builders a couple years ago to make a number of modifications to a new…read morehome we had just bought for my mother in Novato, after hers was destroyed by a mudslide in Southern California. My mom is handicapped and uses a wheelchair, and a number of changes needed to be made to the home to accommodate her needs. I asked Jeff to reverse a number of doors (so they open out, not in), add handicapped bars to the bathrooms and make changes to the glass work of an all-glass shower so it could be used as a roll-in. This was all detail-intensive work that required quality work and an eye for aesthetics, and Jeff's work was basically perfect. Where his work was better than the original construction, he made the whole area better in quality than it was before his work. All the woodwork was flawless, and also the glass work. I was impressed for sure. Best of all, it doesn't look like a "handicapped home" yet it functions as one. Anybody would be happy to live in this house. We also needed to move an inside wall to enlarge a small toilet room (for better wheelchair access) at the expense of a closet. When the work was done' you couldn't tell that it hadn't originally been built that way, the result looked so good! We also needed the entrance between the master bedroom and master bath to to have a door added, and there were on obvious solutions we could think of that worked, especially considering the entrance had an archway. Jeff came up with an ingenious sliding double door that both looks top notch, and is easy to operate by a person in a wheelchair. Brilliant! And if that's not enough, Jeff and his crew also excelled in outdoor work. A concrete wheelchair ramp was added so that my mom could roll up the 12" climb from the sidewalk to the front door. And They also outfitted the back yard with extensive decking. The wood was chosen to be very durable and good looking, and two years later, all the work has held up well. And my final comment is that the cost of all this work was very reasonable. Jeff and his crew cleaned up beautifully, and all work was completed on schedule. Anything that remained to be done, he reliably came back and did it. It's perhaps the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. felt compelled to write this two years later, because I just celebrated thanksgiving at the property. And all his work still looks good as new. And I feel his efforts deserve a good review on Yelp. I would not hesitate to work with Jeff and his crew again.

Along the way, Fernando and John gave me great feedback and worked with my architect, structural engineer, and soil engineers to keep costs down as much as possible. They also gave me some complimentary guidance on my future plans with my backyard. During project, their crew were there often onsite for 10+ hour days, sometimes 6 days a week. They did the demolition, hauling debris and clean up in record speed, a few days. We hired them again to do some site work after the home was installed and we couldn't be more pleased. As my father says "There is no doubt that what you CAN'T see is done right" In other words we watched the whole process and Jonathan and his crew were incredible in paying attention to detail along the way so that it doesn't just look pretty on the surface. The underneath is done right as well. They made sure the ground was smooth, level and compacted, installed two amazing drainage systems, demolished an old hadite wall, brick barbeque, stone hot tub, and cleared all of the debris away. And they paved the other half of the yard with cement which looks beautiful. All through the process Jonathan communicated with my dad about his ideas and plans, and made sure he was happy. All of this work was done so quickly and before the rains started. The work stood the test of extreme weather. No flooding, the drainage systems work great. And we love sitting on the paved side of the yard in the sun. While the other side does not get muddy as it would have if Farallon hadn't worked so hard to compact the dirt side it would have been muddy. It's not.
