Very good (but not as good or fancy as Atma up the road) Indian food, and a bit unique. Not your average curry.

Quality/Quantity - What a great find, and this review shows…read morethe positive power of Yelp. We discovered this local restaurant through Yelp, and so did the other 2 tables next to us. We found out at the end of our meal that one of the other tables was also from our hotel, a mile walk away. Overall, I think a simple menu done well. We got everything they recommended including the recommended beer from the table next to us. Plain Papadum & Chutney Tray - A must try! Suggestion, these two items should be together on your menu to avoid any confusion on pricing. The sauces also went well with our entree and naan. Tandoori Mix Grill - Good, perfect amount for both of us. As mentioned previously, we are light eaters, especially when traveling. This entree also came with a very light simple salad. Garlic Naan - I can eat this all day! This could even be my meal. After Dinner Chocolates - A nice unexpected touch. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Bathrooms need some TLC, but are functional. Indoor/outdoor dining; everyone ate indoors today. Open 7 days a week. Service - Good, had all 3 wait staff help us. This kind of confused us. They were good at upselling, but all 3 team members tried to upsell us. Not in a bad way, but it kept me laughing. I am a light eater, especially when traveling. They all made light small talk which was nice. It was obvious that everyone eating here was NOT local. They also have online promotions, see their website. Price - 28 pounds + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success, I am so glad that you can benefit from Yelp. See you on our next visit as we were so happy with our hotel we plan to stay there again.

It has to be some of the best Indian food I've had outside of India. The little complimentary chai while you wait in line is such a thoughtful touch and really sets the tone. Even though there was a queue, it moved surprisingly quickly. Once inside, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. As for the food... every dish we ordered was outstanding. Rich flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every plate. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. If you're in London, don't overthink it. Just get in line, enjoy the chai, order what sounds good, and have a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

I just do not understand the hype surrounding this restaurant. It's hard to get a reservation and…read morethere's a long queue to get a table without one. I just don't get it. In my opinion, there are 2 main things to know about Dishoom: it's an Indian restaurant that is a chain, with 11 locations worldwide. The food is really good for a chain, bit it doesn't begin to come close to a restaurant that takes care of of its individual customers. Walking in, there's lots of energy. People are having a good time, there's no question. We were seated upstairs where there must have been around 40 tables. All of the staff are walking around in a hurry, cause everything here is in a hurry. The intention is to get you our in less than an hour. They want you in, through, and out. I saw this with multiple tables. Our server Yanko came to our table quite promptly and helped us make selections, both for food and drinks. For the first time in my experience eating in a restaurant, the appetizers arrived minutes before our cocktails. They came so fast that we didn't even think it was our order. And then moments after the drinks arrived, all of the main dishes and sides were placed on the table. With no way to keep anything warm. All of this with 10 minutes of placing the order. I appreciate prompt service, but this takes it to an absurd extreme. Our appetizers included the house Chaat and prawn koliwada. I enjoyed the prawns more but the flavors were facile, not close to what I expect and have enjoyed in excellent Indian restaurants. The main dishes were the Goan monkfish curry and Sali Goan. These were also just OK, absolutely nothing special. The cheese naan was soggy, though the flavor was good. This was an unacceptable texture for a naan. Dessert was Basmati Kheer, flavorful Basmati rice with fruit compote on top. In between and unneeded, was a thin layer of creme brulee. I did enjoy my tea: ginger, lemon and honey and my wife liked her mint tea. I do not know the restaurant scene in Edinburgh, we've been here for 4 days. But this is just not a place I'deven consider returning to. It's really a factory that feeds folks, not a restaurant that cares for its customers. The business model had been optimized to maximize income with lots of throughput. What's been almost completely lost in my opinion, is the heart and soul of the dining experience.

Chances are, if you…read moreare at an airport hotel in London, you are probably wishing you could experience this town's incredible Indian food one more time before you leave. Most people search the Yelp reviews and walk to the best, close restaurant you can find. I recently stayed overnight at the Raddison by Heathrow. My wife and I were craving Indian badly. We were about to walk a mile to get to a restaurant I found on Yelp, when we noticed this new Indian place IN the hotel! The place was very modern and swanky. You can make a reservation right on the web site, or at the hotel. We showed up at 7:30 and didn't need a reservation. We were hoping for chicken tikka masala and palek paneer, but no such luck. So we set out to try some new stuff. After talking to the waiter, who was very cool and extremely helpful, we decided on some things he suggested that were VERY similar to what we were looking for. So, we decided on Lamb Rogan Josh(£12), Butter Chicken Masala (£11), Paneer Lababdar (£9) Plain naan (£2.50), and Steamed Basamati rice (2 orders £3 each). I had a bottle of Pale Ale, not sure what kind. My wife had a glass of Pino Grigio. Everything was incredible. The butter chicken masala was very similar, except maybe not as 'tomatoey' as traditional tikka masala. The lamb rogan josh was bursting with deep flavors and the lamb was a good cut of meat that was very tender. The paneer lababdar was a vegetarian dish with big chunks of paneer cheese and a really rich sauce. We ate until we were full and ate some more. Took a break and ate some more! Spent $114, but it was wort it. SOOO good. Can't wait to be back.

There was a two+ hours gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception and we decide to give Annayu a try. That was the best decision we had made. The staff was very pleasant and service was top notch. The ambiance of Annayu is trendy with a touch of formal. It was blended well. We had the Butter Chicken Masala, Chicken Poussin, Lamb Boti Kebab and Garlic Naan. The authentic tastes in these dishes just blew us away. Each dish was very delicious and perfectly prepared. The Chicken Poussin Tandoori was soft and spicy and just melted the tastes in my mouth. The Butter Chicken Masala had the perfect amount of creamy sauce preserving the tastes of Indian spices making it a perfect match for the Garlic Naan. We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ate there twice in the same evening. Terrific experience!

Very attentive, but I had to rescue my food from the waiter a couple of times (you're done right?), and failed to do the same with the last few sips of my beer. And the food? Very very good, but then again, there is the occasional total misfire (dried out paneer? Stale panipuri?) Anyhow, if you're at the Sheraton, beats the pants off of heading down the road to Hounslow....
