    After Eric, a wonderful bathroom.
    Peter P.

Eric is phenomenal and did a wonderful job renovating our bathroom. He is responsive and timely. His crew always arrived as promised and were very careful in our home. The craftsmanship is superb and the finished product looks wonderful. Eric is very experienced and his attention to detail is excellent. His advice and ideas about our design were always spot on. Prices were very reasonable for a high quality contractor. Eric has our highest recommendation!

So...Yelp reviewers have done it again! I found Eric and his crew on Yelp and they are the real deal. After several other contractors also took a look at my kitchen project, I just went with my gut and hired Eric. The Praise: I am thrilled that now I can say, "I have a guy." One of the best things about Eric is that he actually shows up on time, does beautiful work and his prices are totally competitive. He stuck with the price he quoted and the timeline. The only changes in either of those were completely related to my request for changes. Bottom line is that at the end of the day he is an honest dude doing great work. What more could you want?! The Project: My kitchen is in a building that is over 100 years old and had been remodeled in the early 90's. Let's just say ugly builders-grade everything and the quirks of an old building were everywhere. There isn't a straight wall in the joint. Eric's crew did "the works" to update the look and deal with all the quirks. Electrical, plumbing, drywall, gas lines, tile, and cabinets. They expanded the kitchen by about a foot and even built an architectural nook that hides the structural column. They are truly talented and didn't miss a trick. As other reviewers noted, the tile work is second to none. I can't wait to have my bathroom done by these guys! Bottom Line: Hire them already!

Eric is great. He speaks his mind and puts great ideas on the table. He did two bathrooms for me and I am very satisfied. The reason I chose him over other competing quotes is a combination of value and quality / thoroughness. He is the only contractor that quoted the project that took the time to understand what the work would really take by looking at where the main power runs and junction boxes and existing wiring and plumbing. The result is fantastic, the tile work is nearly flawless and everything is holding up well.

    New laundry under stairwell.

This review is long overdue! Eric and his team did a wonderful job this past summer on our bathroom renovation and new laundry room! We hired him to tackle a goofy and completely outdated bathroom (that also functioned as a laundry room), and turned it into a high end classy bathroom. We then moved our laundry under our stairwell, creating a functional and smart laundry area. He was reasonably priced, honest, prompt with all communication, and his team was a pleasure to work with. He was also great at listening to my many wants (I'm very particular), but also talked through any complications he foresaw, and made us aware of any price increases that could arise due to new requests we had. I would not hesitate to use him again for any future projects. We definitely recommend him for projects big or small!

Eric and his crew did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen. They started on the agreed date, arrived every morning by 8 and cleaned up and left at 4. The quality was excellent, the price was fair and there were no extras charged on the job. They finished the job in a little under 2 weeks and dealt well with the usual surprises remodeling an old condo provides. He has a bit of a backlog of projects so you may have to wait a bit for him to be able to start. I don't recommend getting multiple bids and then hiring the cheapest contractor. Choose someone with a good reputation and a fair price. Contracting on price only is the best way I know of getting either a shoddy job or lots of extra charges at the end.

Long overdue post, but Eric and his crew remodeled my master bathroom as well as tiled my first floor bathroom and laundry room last year. My husband and I are very pleased with their work. Eric is reasonably priced compared to other contractors I've called. We will definitely have them remodel our upstairs bathroom soon!

I spent hours searching Yelp for a general contractor to do a complete bathroom remodel. I reached out to four different companies, all highly rated, and eventually decided to go with Eric based on price. Eric and his crew did an amazing job and I would definitely hire him again. His work is top notch; his tile guy is flawless and so is the rest of his crew (these pictures don't do it justice). You should know that Eric is a very no frills guy. Other companies show up with clipboards and measuring tapes and speak perfect English. Eric does not. But he doesn't need those things because he eats, sleeps, and breaths this work and knows what it's going to take based on a simple site visit. If schedule permits, I suggest getting a contractor involved early in the process; particularly if you plan to buy all your materials and this is your first remodeling project (like it was for us). I am a semi DIY and know enough to be dangerous, so my wife and I designed the entire bathroom and did all the demo. We slaved for weeks meticulously planning all the details and picking out/ordering all the materials. But in the end, a few things had to change because we didn't fully understand how everything would fit together. If I had to choose one reason to recommend Eric, it's that he is extremely fair. Unlike my experience with other contractors, I never felt like he was trying to pull one over on me. Will things come up that affect cost or schedule? Of course, this is contracting! For example, we bought shower doors that ended up not working out. New glass had to be ordered which pushed things back one week; but this delay was our own fault. Eric worked with us to solve the problem and did not charge us downtime like other companies had threatened (by the way, his glass guy is amazing too). Despite a few changes, some extra work, and schedule changes, he stuck to his original quote! If you are looking for a great product at a very fair price, go with Eric. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand through every step of the process, work through a detailed CAD design, and over communicate every detail, then look elsewhere and pay the premium for that type of service.

We are very pleased with the work Eric and his crew did remodeling our bathroom. Eric gave us a fair good price estimate on the spot and stuck to it trough the project. The job included tear-down of walls, floor and ceiling and moving the bathtub and toilet, installation of double vanity and can lights. Eric worked in a team with Jacob whose tiling work is impeccable. When needed Eric brought team of efficient, courteous and trustworthy professionals. Eric gave us several practical suggestions. Sometimes his ideas actually meant more work for him (for the same price) but he seems to care more about how to make it look beautiful rather than finish quickly and cash the cheque. He always repeats" you are happy - we are happy" . He knows every aspect of remodeling and is quick in finding solutions. We highly recommend Eric and will use his services again ourselves.

Like many of the other posters, I found Eric Construction through Yelp. I was interested in a remodel of my master walk in shower and from first contact until the very end, Eric and his team were amazing. The shower looks nothing short of spectacular. Eric was always on time and always answers his phone. His bid was also significantly less than other bids I had received. I'm looking forward to working with him on future projects.

Professionalism: From the outset, the owner, Karl, demonstrated outstanding professionalism. He provided a prompt, competitive estimate, and the final cost actually came in slightly under budget. The demolition was carried out with surgical precision, and the entire worksite was kept immaculately clean throughout the project. Karl and his partner David handled all the work themselves--eliminating the typical delays and coordination issues that come with juggling multiple subcontractors. Creativity and Craftsmanship: Karl's insight during the planning phase helped us reimagine the layout to maximize both space and functionality. He offered thoughtful, practical design suggestions that elevated the final result, guiding us toward choices that added real value. Karl and David brought an old-world craftsmanship and an impeccable attention to detail to every stage of the process. High-quality materials were used throughout, and Karl's network of skilled artisans--including a stone mason and glass cutter--ensured that every component was expertly sourced and installed at a fair price. In short, ABA Remodeling delivered exceptional quality and service at a value that's hard to beat. We had such a positive experience that we're already planning a second renovation project with them.

He has great ideas and isn't afraid to tell you if something you want to do isn't necessarily worth the expense (which we very much appreciated). They delivered high-quality work that leveraged their knowledge and expertise to ensure our new space was functional and beautiful. Some things you look for in a general contractor and rarely find are the ability to stay close to budget and timelines, and Jim and his team did both of these! Jim does a thorough of a job putting designs/estimates together, and the only change order we had (that wasn't scope creep on our part) was for some poor electrical a previous owner did that Jim couldn't have anticipated. In addition, Jim keeps your project moving. We rarely went two days without someone at the house making progress on our project; there were no extended delays due to materials or labor issues. Jim and his team also excel at problem solving. Every project has hiccups along the way, but every issue is tackled and Jim won't stop until the solution works for you. As an example, we were having trouble matching the color of some new hardwood floors to older, existing floors in the house. He helped us put down 16 stain samples and promised we would keep trying until we got it right (and we finally did!). It was very clear our happiness was extremely important to him. If you are looking for a contractor who is honest, knowledgeable, responsive, efficient, affordable, and fun to work with, Independent Remodeling is who you should work with. It's hard to find a company you would want to use a second time, but Jim will be the first person we call for future projects in our house, and who we will recommend to friends and family if they are looking to complete a project in their home.

When I turned on water when remodeling was done, they actually told me the brown water that initially comes out is from the copper pipes, and I believed them! Well, years later looking at brown water, the whole faucet came off the wall. Added picture. I had to get a plumber to come in, open the wall, put an actual tub pipe in, and have someone fix the wall, plumber come back to attach faucet. He couldn't believe that Independent Remodeling didn't drive 2 min to a store to get the right pipe. They were probably behind schedule and used whatever was in the truck. The amount of things wrong with this bathroom is insane. It's great when you're done and easy to be happy because you have your house back, but if you want long term quality, do not go with this company. When doing the initial walk-through explaining what I wanted, there were no notes taken. I thought that was weird but they are professionals and I figured it's what they do. That was, until plugs ended up in the wrong spot, etc. they did something wrong while installing a very expensive showerhead and fixture, and the solution was to put gum in it which took no time to get brown with mildew. The tiles were not laid properly and are cracking. They did come back a year later to redo it, but they are the same quick job. There's something behind the tile that is not letting water flow to the showerhead, we had all new piping done with them. They also hung a giant mirror with a thin wire. They had to come back after year because it was starting to pull off the frame. They just glued it to the wall. It is now peeling from the wall and is about to fall on someone. So after just a few years I am looking for a handyman to fix all these problems which may include taking down the new tile, so I thought I would share that this probably isn't a good solution if you're looking for a long-term bathroom redo.

The mud was applied to walls and let dry, but they weren't sanded smooth. Then the primer and paint got applied all over the trim, door, window sides and unsanded walls. The bathroom door was painted with flat paint which looks terrible because they got paint on the door and they tried to hide it with white paint. The problem is the wall color was dark and the white didn't cover it. Plus they should have used trim paint NOT flat paint. The vanity was reinstalled and the bottom half of the toilet. At this point, after seeing how horrible the walls and the painting turned out we stopped the project. The worker was getting hostile with his tone, kept saying that he's not finished, but when we asked how he was going to fix everything he had no answers. We asked him if he wasn't finished why did he install the vanity. He said he would sand the walls and repaint, but we wouldn't allow that because the vanity was installed and he would get sanding residue all over it and behind it. The owner's nephew came by to see the damage and took pictures. At that time we terminated the project and asked for a partial refund, which we did receive. However, after they left hours later we found a leak under the vanity sink and had to call a plumber to fix it. Come to find out the valve was broken, and it was broken during reinstallation because the broken valve handle was laying on the shelf of the new vanity. Had I have known this I would have asked for a bigger refund because we had to pay for a new valve replacement. This wasn't a difficult project.
