Stop by this perfect dive bar for a frosty cold throat tickler and stay for the burgers. The hand pressed patties are large and done right. We asked to split the burger so they gave us separate baskets, a pickle each and chips. The staff is upbeat and on top of their game. Drinks are made right. read more

We came in for one of their "Famous" burgers. We were immediately greeted by Allison who was so friendly. She took me and my wife's order and our drinks came quickly and so did our food! Their burgers are out of this world, so so good. Our beers were so cold and frosty. We will most defiantly be back all because of Allison and their great food and drinks! Absolutely love this place! Great beers and many options, full bar and the burger they have is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Don't go expecting fries cause their setup is super small but very impressive with what they can do. Not the most room when it's packed but everyone is usually very nice and this is definitely a great spot to go to when you're looking for a late night bar to go to with a good turnout. They guys behind the bar do a great job getting to you and they're always moving. Truly a great spot to go to with friends or by yourself. Don't miss out on the burger it's a must!!!! read more

I've heard about Ercoles burgers since pre-covid and finally had a chance to try them! The burgers were juicy and flavorful. Everything you'd expect from your classic burger. Make sure you have napkins on hand. Burgers come with a bag of chips. We didn't get to choose which kind but since we weren't going for the chips it doesn't really matter. read more

This place is the "OG' dive bar on Manhattan beach. The real secret to this place is the burger. The burger at Ercoles is increbible. I mean, really, really good. They get their beef from the butcher next door and gril them right in front of you on a charcoal grill. They know exactly how to serve the burger. Just the right lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup, mayo and they even grill the bun. Its hard to find a better burger in the southbay. You are mising out if you do not eat this burger once in your life. And they have an excellent array of cold beers on tap and spirts to quench your thirst. Don't miss this place. read more

People have told me about the burgers here so I had to give it a shot. First off Love the atmosphere her. The dive bar vibe is right up my alley. Friendly bar staff and the burger was spot on. On Sundays, we ride our bikes along the beach and always stop at a new place to eat. This past Sunday, we decided to eat at Ercoles because we were told they have good burgers. Well, the burgers are nice sized patties that were cooked medium rare. It was pretty tasty, but they only offer American cheese ( I prefer real cheese). We were told that it would be a fifteen minute wait which turned into 45 minutes. While we were waiting, a group of guys that were waiting before me finally got called to pick up their order. They were angry because their fifteen minute wait was a sixty minute wait. Also, they ordered chicken sandwiches and they were give hamburgers (which they could not eat due to their religion). The man argued with them for a good ten minutes before he accepted blame for his error and then had the correctly made. So, the man gave us their two burgers that they could not eat. I wonder how much longer we would have waited for our burgers to be ready. read more

"Dive bar in Manhattan Beach" may not be an oxymoron, but it is certainly a contradiction. In a place where oceanfront homes regularly go for $10m+, the clientele isn't down-and-out. But it is down to earth. Full on dive bar vibe, good jukebox music, service that is as fast as you'll get in a busy place (and friendly, without being fawning), and burgers hot off the grill that are as good as other reviews say. A first visit for me, but I will be back anytime I'm in LA with time to cruise down to Manhattan Beach. read more

Old school since 1927. I only wanted to have a beer on tap but with the COVID-19 restrictions you have to order food - this is getting ridiculous no freedom in America anymore. When I get a craving for a burger and beer, there is no place I'd rather experience than Ercs. No frills all smiles. Order your food and drinks then go find your table and someone will bring your food to you. The burger just melts in my mouth. No fries. Just chips. I ate it slow and enjoyed every morsel. A couple of beers help make the walk home fun. read more

EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful BARTENDER !!!!! I didn't get his name but he's an older man with salt n pepper hair and kinda balding. I was there yesterday night for the the 4th of July. I witnessed this BARTENDER disrespected this younger couple as they placed their drink order. The BARTENDER embarrassed this couple when he started joking about their order loud enough that I heard. He even asked the security working the door that night, if he really checked their identification because the drink order was was not the usual. I really felt bad for the couple. If I were the owner I'd fire the SB. You don't treat people like this let alone your paying customer. Im sure they'll never come here again and I hope they write a bad review like I am. I can't stand bullying. That's exactly what it looked like. I'll never visit this bar again or recommend it.. read more

This bar should be called "Croleng with CoVid". We saw bartenders massless, people serving food and cooking without gloves. Servers stepped on top of tables and danced. The pool table was swimming in stale beer. They were cooking the Dodger dogs flat on the bar oven with no safety. I'm surprised Health and Safety hasn't named this bar the number one location to contract CoVid19 in Manhattan Beach. read more

Great burger in your typical local dive bar. I recommend the Combo Burger, with a Link on top. Wednesdays are 2 for 1 Burgers. Cash only is a little bit of a drawback, but the prices are pretty good. Definitely an older crowd so not all young people love it, but I like popping in here as one of my local spots and/or to watch a game. Also good place to stop in if the other bars are packed from the beach crowd. Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes great, but sometimes it takes forever to get your food. read more

Our Ercs Burger has won the award as best burger in the beach cities, and our footlong Dodger Dog is another local fave. We serve 12 beers on tap and have an array of alcohol to choose from. Join us for specials!! $2.00 Taco on Tuesdays and Thursdays nights , and 2 burgers for $10.00 on Wednesdays nights. History

Established in 1927.

Ercoles 1101 originally opened as a soda shop and restaurant in 1927. In 1958, it transitioned into a local bar, which Gary moore bought in. 1972. He later in the mid 80's added a grill and food was incorporated into the menu. Gary Moore passed in 2015 and his niece Staci Clark took over promising not to change Ercoles. Today, Ercoles 1101 is the hot spot for locals who want to grab a drink while hanging out on Manhattan Beach. With so many years of success, Ercoles 1101 looks forward to serving you great drinks and lots of fun!

WATCH OUT FOR BARMAID (white hair, glasses, fake boobs) Great bar and fantastic hamburgers on wednesday but the BARMAID with GLASSES and FAKE BOOBS will pretend she doesn't know how much the beers cost and also does not bring back change, just keeps it without asking. Gave her a $5 for a $3.50 beer. I asked her for change, she said beers were $4 and, without even asking me, she just kept the $1 (even tho she owed $1.50).
